Changing based on gender of characters in media

I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this? It's making me question my identity lol. I've noticed that when I am reading/watching something with a woman main character and/or straight romance, I feel more woman. On the other hand, when it's something with a male main character (or nonbinary, although that's very rare as I'm sure you all know) I feel more either nonbinary or a little masculine. I don't mean just in the moment, but like during the time period I'm reading the book or watching a lot of a particular show or shows a lot (several days or a week, whatever) Does anyone else experience this?

Do y'all think I'm actually genderfluid or is this just my autistic hyperempathy screwing with my head lol.

Tree Hugger vs Soft Taco?

I have never used reusables before but I've been following Tree Hugger on Instagram and decided I wanted to try some out. But I also saw that Soft Taco is recommended. It's a little cheaper, so I thought that might be good since I'm just trying it out, but I also want to give reusables a fair chance and get a decent product to see if I like it. They are both Canada based so I'm assuming the shipping costs will be similar (I'm in the USA).

These are the things that are important to me:

-small business

-longer pads at least 12 inch

-as breathable as possible

-not weird/velvet-like texture

-absorb quickly

-reasonable price under about $20 per pad

Which of these options do you think would be best for me? OR are there other small businesses you can recommend?

Best ANC and comfort for $100?

I'm looking at over ear bluetooth headphones. The most important thing for me is the ANC and overall comfort (I'm autistic and have sensory sensitivities). Sound quality honestly isn't important to me as long as it will play audiobooks and Taylor Swift lol. Obviously I am not expecting anything amazing at my price point, but just wondering what the best cheap option would be for comfort and ANC.

I need something I can get on Amazon US and something that will travel well and be good for a long haul plane ride. Something that I can put down around my neck when I need to have it off for just a couple minutes (do all headphones do this? I've only used earbuds before)

These are the ones I have seen recommended online below. I'm having trouble figuring out the meaningful differences between them though. Or I'm not sure if there's a better brand/model for what I want them for.

Dealing with/"letting go of" a parent who was trying

*I don't want to share my cat for privacy and creative writing stresses me out, so I hope you will accept the link to Kpop artists with their cats instead. The idols are much pleasanter to look at than I would be right now, even if their cats don't hold a candle to my baby/j

https://www.koreaboo.com/lists/happy-international-cat-day-heres-10-cutest-cat-idol-families-in-kpop/ *

I want to be clear that I am not trying to excuse my father, I'm kind of trying to do the opposite lol. In reading about parents/dads with BPD and seeing others' posts here, I recognize a lot of the patterns, motivations, and effects. However, I also see where my father did not escalate (not sure if that's the right word) in the way some others describe, or was, in some ways, "trying". This makes me have very mixed feelings for 2 reasons: feeling like I didn't have it nearly as bad as others and am making a big deal out of relatively little; and feeling like I am not giving him enough credit for the work he did do to make my childhood not as bad as it could have been. BUT the pain he caused me (and is still) is real...

I feel unable to let go of the moments in my childhood where he was truly kind and warm and understanding. Like if I put up with enough I'll get one of those glimmers again. It doesn't help that there were times in my childhood that I felt he was the only one capable of understanding me (we are both autistic but neither of us knew it when I was a child).

Has anyone else had this experience of their parent being "not that bad" that you feel guilty or find it hard not to excuse their behavior?

What do you take on a plane?

I'm flying by myself for the first time and trying to figure out what to take with me for comfort items. Before I've taken my big weighted stuffie but with no one to help me with my stuff or sit next to me it will be too big for me to handle. I've though about taking a heating pad to put on my lap for the weight, but I don't know if it will give me the same comfort as hugging my big stuffie. Any ideas or suggestions?

Also, is there anything else you take to make your trip easier? I'm going to take my ANC earbuds of course, and a power bank for my phone (I'm going to download some podcasts and books for the trip) but I'm not sure if there's anything else that would make it easier for me. The flight time is more than 10 hours, with one layover of a couple hours.

Songs about women as monsters?

Examples are King by Florence + The Machine and Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? by Taylor Swift.

Also, a bit random, but the quote from Brittany Broski about the "monstrous" side of her that wants to be loved kind of fits the vibe as well.

What do y'all do when you're too depressed for your special interests?

Normally when I just feel a bit bad, I engage with my special interests to feel better. But I'm in the middle of a depressive episode and everything feels out of reach. I can't bear to paint, draw, or crochet. I can't focus long enough on videos. Even my perpetual drive to research them is absent.

What do y'all do when you are too depressed to feel better?

"God Didn't Make us to Hate us" reviews?

I can't get it from my library so I wanted to ask about it before buying. Thoughts?

Honestly, I haven't meaningfully read any religious books (let alone just the Bible) for years, since I realized my conservative Evangelical upbringing was BS. I want to try approaching it from a place of love and grace and joy instead of control. I think this book sound pretty promising for that, but I had a few questions for people who read it:

Is most of the book focused on LGBTQIA+ issues, or does it discuss feminist, race, and/or other ideas as well?

Does it include any discussion of nonbinary and/or gender nonconforming people?

[Neither of these are like "dealbreakers" I just want to know a little more about the content and parts that could be more especially useful to me.]

How is it structured? Would there be a way to break it into manageable parts and is it very dense?

[Recommendations] Slightly minimizing bra / bra to wear with "men's" clothes

Background is I'm AFAB nonbinary and have been trying out "men's" clothes. But my chest is not small (size from calculator below) and quite outer heavy. I don't want to bind or even have a full on minimizer bra, I just want to keep them a little more 'in place' (in and slightly back).

HOWEVER, I really don't like wires. Is this possible from a wireless bra?

Not sure how much info is needed for bra/brand recs, but here is all the info from calculator:

Size: UK 42GG (US 42J/K)

Under: 43

Standing: 51

Leaning: 53

Lying: 49.5

Religious imagery in TGD (album)

Note: I am approaching this from a religious trauma perspective lol. Not weird Evangelical energy.

Obviously the album is chock full of religious imagery and commentary. I feel like I am still missing a lot though!

One I JUST realized was in Haircut: "I stretched my arms real wide" . Obviously this can be literal to try and catch someone behaving erratically. But in my goofy mood today I actually did the action while singing and realized it was familiar because of a crucifix. This fits so well into the song, and I feel like I get the song so much more now, looking at it through the idea of Noah as a "fake Christ" and fitting that into other parts of the album discussing leaving vs staying, family trauma, etc. I feel dumb for not getting this before, especially since Haircut is one of my favorites on the album and I've heard it so many times🤦‍♀️

Any other not SO obvious religious imagery or commentary that I may have missed?? (and/or that you missed at first lol. hopefully I'm not alone in my extremely slow lyrical analysis pace)

Certain gender when negative vs positive emotions

Not the best title but let me explain:

I've been exploring my gender and the possibility of being genderfluid. So I started keeping track of when I felt more feminine, more neutral, or more a third secret thing in my journal app (I don't really ever feel like a man). This app is mostly for journaling emotions. What I have noticed looking back is that days with positive emotions are more likely to be neutral or 3rd thing and days with negative emotions are more likely to be feminine. There are several sets of days where it will go positive emotion->mixed->negative emotion while at the same time going neutral->slightly fem->feminine (and the flipped going negative to positive and feminine to neutral or 3rd thing).

Now I'm wondering if this is just a part of me figuring out that I actually identify as neutral or a nonbinary gender and the negative days are just me doubting or questioning... or if this is just an odd way my gender is fluid.

Does your gender change depending on mood and energy for a given day or period?

Am I going to be exhausted for life?

I’ve been questioning and figuring it out for a couple months now, and I am just exhausted. Sure a lot of it was the panic and actively figuring it out, and the fact that I’m not out yet so I’ve also been having to act like nothing‘s different. But even now that I’m pretty sure I’m nonbinary I still feel like I’m just thinking about gender so damn much, it’s taking up so much space in my head and tiring me out. And I’m not even having to think about presenting a certain way or telling acquaintances or strangers yet because I haven’t actually changed anything.

Does this go away mostly once one is more secure in their identity and out? or do y‘all just have to live spending a good chunk of mental energy on gender?

Resources affirming nonbinary identities from a Christian perspective?

I’m looking for articles, essays, or videos discussing why Christians should affirm nonbinary identities. I am compiling a resource list for my religious family against the time I decide to come out to them

I asked myself "what do I like about being a woman?" and the FIRST thing my brain spat out was "making fun of men"

that is all I have to say

This isn't a comment on all the shit going down here currently. I just find my evil brain hilarious

I've been exploring my gender and I'm not completely sure what, if any, specific label I would identify as (genderfluid, nonbinary, agender, demiwoman, just gender non-conforming - not sure yet which if any would feel right). But I do know that I would like to try out using they/them pronouns.

My family doesn't really have any experience with gender non-conforming people. I have one or two people that I think would be accepting and willing to learn, and I would like to talk to them about it a little and ask if they could practice using they/them pronouns for me. But I don't really know how to explain to them since even I'm not sure exactly what's going on with me. Does anyone have advice for how I could explain my questioning to them?

*note: I am a grown-ass adult just now figuring shit out lol. No safety concerns here!*

I'm autistic and have a limited palate, but I need to eat more fiber. Chocolate chip granola bars are my main snack but the ones I get only have a little bit of fiber. Can anyone recommend a bar that has good fiber that fits the criteria below:

- sweet (chocolate or other sweet flavors)

- no peanut butter

- no strawberry or blueberry (other dried fruits are ok. I don't like fake fruit flavors)

- no artificial sweeteners (any amount normal sugar, honey, maple is fine. I don't care about calorie level either. I react to artificial)

- Chewy, crispy, or crumbly texture (not stodgy like a protein bar)

- available in USA

I am open to other things like maybe some kind of granola or cereal would fit this better? It just has to be sweet and not mushy or stodgy or gluey textured.
