What would be some Murphy's Laws of the Dungeon?

If Carl has multiple attack plans, the first two won't work.

If a fan vote is required for a prize, the trolls will make sure its a shitty one.

Others? Get creative

Does the Chief have any other clothing besides his armor?

I always think of Sarge saying "And you told me you were going to wear something nice."

Does he have a dress uniform like most other soldiers do? Maybe dress Mjolnir: extra polished and shiny with all his medals displayed on the breastplate

Were the flood created or are they a natural lifeform?

I love the story campaigns. Ive been a fan of Halo from the og Halo:CE for original xbox.

Over the years ive analyzed the story from H1 and its clear that the Halo intallations are not only there as a failsafe in case the flood got out but some form of isolated container for the existing flood.

Apparently this isnt the first outbreak, at least according to 343s off hand comment to the Chief about "you asked me last time..."

So I have to wonder are the flood a native species the Forerunners took out of its natural environment to use as a weapon? Or did they create the flood? If created, are they a biological warfare weapon that got out of control?

Star Wars fans vs Star Trek fans

Star Wars fans: I could be a Jedi, see:

accidentally slices couch in half with lightsaber

Star Trek fans: I could fight the Borg, see:

accidentally sets couch on fire with phaser

Edit: this is a joke and nothing more. As you were

If TNG had been rebooted in the 70s

Henry Winkler would be awesome in that role, but I dont think John Amos could do Klingon quite as well as Michael Dorn.

Note: yes this is AI but directed by humans

Did the covenant chase the Autumn from reach or were they already there?

That little bit always confused me. I cant really tell from the conversation between Keyes and Cortanna. What I've always thought is that their blind jump from Reach caused them to run right into another bunch of Covenant at Halo rather than the Covenant chasing the Autumn.

It seems like the Covenant were already going to activate the "Divine Ring" to initiate the "Great Journey" and the Autumn just got in the way

How would other Captains reacted to Q?

Archer, Burnham, Pike, Sulu, Spock, Kirk

I'm not going to count Trelane for this discussion.

I think Spock might've tried to out wit him.

Sulu would've done like Sisko: punched him and then said "Don't call me tiny."

Kirk would try to make him see how much he was hurting people (not that it would've done any good)

Burnham would bore him with some speech about how they all came together as a team to blah blah blah

IDK What Archer wouldve done. Maybe sic Daniels on him?

Weird thing with crawler names

In reading and then listening to the books, i have noticed a weird thing with crawler names. Nearly every crawler has either a last name or last initial *except Carl.* Imani G, Louie Santiago II, Elle McGibbons, to name a few.

Im sure there's some subtle reason for this but I dont see it.

My big problem with Dr. Malcolm

I love Jeff Goldblum's Dr. Ian Malcolm Despite his rock star persona and "deplorable excess of personality," he is the perfect intellectual and moral foil for John Hammond. I do have one problem with his character. It's during the great lunch scene where Hammond and (mostly) Malcolm are debating the moral implications of the park. As Malcolm is making his point he says:

>I'll tell you the problem with the scientific power that you're using here, it didn't require any discipline to attain it. You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don't take any responsibility for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could

Although I know what he was trying to say reading what others have done and taking the next step is quite often the way scientific progress happens. In 1675, Sir Isaac Newton wrote:

>"If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants."

I understand that he's saying that they didn't spend enough time studying the techniques and the possible problems but the way he vilifies John for "taking the next step," is way off base

Was Q acting on behalf of the continuum when he confronted Picard at Farpoint?

I know many times Qs actions were not sanctioned by the continuum. However, when we first meet him is he acting on his own or on behalf of the continuum?

I ask becaise throughout the various series, it seems to me that the continuum doesnt give two shit$ about linear beings. (I felt humanity was too short-sighted) It always seems like they look us as Qs little hobby/experiment than anything interesting. Especially on his first appearance on Voyager.

A review of Superman: Unchained

I just finished reading Superman: Unchained. Overall, i give it a 7.5 out of 10. I liked the storyline with Wraith and The Machine (although, if you ask me, The Machine is a stupid name for a secret army). What I didnt like was the B storyline about Lex Luthor, Earthstone and Wraiths aliens. It felt like it was just added in as filler. I think the story would've been better without that. Or make it a separate story in a separate book, be ause what happened is that it made the ending kind of anticlimactic. (I'm trying not to give too much away)

I like Scott Snyders writing style and he moved the plot along quite well.

The next Trek Show I want to see

They wont do it because theyre not bright enough or innovative enough. But i would love to see an episodic series like Marvel's What If? Or DC Comics's Elseworlds.

Something like what if Wesley hadn't screwed up at SFA (stupid boys make me abbreviate it. Because heaven forbid we mention that place) and instead graduated top of his class? Eventually becoming the youngest Captain in SF history, taking out the next Enterprise.

What if Riker had been captured by the Borg instead of Picard?

What if Kirk had just acknowledged that the no win scenario exists and moved on?

And so on...

I think it would be cool to explore. Like i said there's almost no chance of that happening
