All of a sudden most of my catalogs not showing?? I use aiometadata. Anyone else have this issue?

Hello fellow fire tv users, wanted to ask a specific question. I have recently learned how to block updates on a firestick at the initial set up, through DNS and ADB commands which allows the the OS to stay on either 8.1.1.6 or 8.1.3.3. The question i have is if i buy a new fire cube newest gen, will i able to run the same exploit, and will all the features work the same as on the firestick such as custom launcher (with launcher manager, i know there is a new exploit for latest OS)? Just got firestick and went through setup without installing update then disconnected hotspot. Im on 8.1.1.6. Im scared to connect to wifi again how do i make sure it doesn't update. Thanks in advance
