How do you people trust before sharing any personal details (name, college name , company name) with anyone on reddit?

Recently, someone asked me and I told my nickname and a different college name but when I started trusting that person being genuine, I confessed this but ended up getting blocked.

I have some trust issues plus people on reddit are anonymous so it just fuels my trust issues. Because of these trust issues, I don't share personal details before meeting that person irl.

I know that I should have clearly told that person about my trust issues but many times people get agressive in knowing those details or they will just ghost me. To not get ghosted and not to make them aggressive, i sometimes share the wrong details and reveal the correct details once I meet them.

Am I overthinking? Any advice?
