i don’t think there’s any reason we need to specifically do Boy player1 Girl player2 (or Prisoner and Soldier) and it’d probably be an easy addition. I just think it would be a nice update. If there’s already a way to, please tell me.

I didn’t mind the race swap for Annabeth, her race was never important to her character, it was her hair and eyes that I was annoyed about, since blonde hair and grey eyes were commonly mentioned and a part of her being a child of Athena. But some people (some racist people, too) were complaining about her being race swapped, which wasn’t even important to her character!
Then, Nico and Bianca, two Venice-born Italian’s, have their casting officially announced. Levi Chrisopulos, who I assume is probably Greek. And Olive Abercrombie…Forgive me if I’m wrong but they aren’t Italian, meanwhile the characters they’re playing are.
With Leah, her being a black person was fine, Annabeth’s race wasn’t important to her character. Yes she was described as “tanned” but that didn’t affect anything. Meanwhile, Nico and Bianca being Italian is quite central to Nico’s character and his development…so why haven’t I seen anyone talking about it?
I don’t blame the actors, obviously. They got a big role and took it, good for them. But the directors didn’t cast an Italian…to play an Italian. I just don’t get it. I don’t get why no one is talking about or upset over the fact they took away an Italian actor being able to play and represent their country.
I dunno, am I overreacting or is this a valid criticism?
