Bulette variations
MM2014 p34 stats the standard “land shark”. It says it “ranges across temperate lands” so my idea is for different terrain/biome/ecologies.

Edit: I thought for sure bad guy with a killer soundtrack would be the giveaway.
First off, what is a “five room dungeon”?
A Five Room Dungeon is a series of 5 encounters. That’s all. Well, not exactly. It’s a series of five specific types of encounters.
Here’s the template;
Encounter 1: Entrance/Guardian
Encounter 2: Puzzle/Skill challenge
Encounter 3: Twist/Surprise
Encounter 4: Climax/BBEG
Encounter 5: Reward/Cliffhanger
So, for example;
Guardian- the group is passing through a forest, protected by a Dryad who hates humans because they cut down trees and farm animals. She set traps like Tangling Vines and Swarm of Wasps to drive humans out of her glade.
Challenge- the group has to negotiate safe passage with the Dryad. They can try to convince her they aren’t chopping down trees or killing animals. Roll Play challenge.
Surprise- the Dryad falls in love with a human in the group. Now she follows him/her around and praises them for good deeds and scolds them for stepping on plants and other silly stuff. The human needs to try to convince her to stay quiet and just protect her glade.
Big Bad Evil Guy- there is a group of poachers in the glade. They’re the ones actually killing animals and chopping trees. The party has to drive them off either through negotiation/RolePlay or violently through combat.
Reward- the party gets to pass safely through the woods and they now have a Dryad friend they can call on for information or help in the future.
What I’m hoping to do, with your help, is create a five room dungeon one shot for a group of 3-5 first level characters focusing on Cantrips and finishable in about 2 hours, with a hook that grabs the players right from the start.
What ideas do you have!
A public service announcement from a MOD here.
Lots of people are posting homebrew beasties already statted. That’s fine! I’m not complaining.
BUT, the point of this sub it to allow people to uniquely stat creatures.
So I’ve been creating new stat blocks for some of those pre-statted creatures.
I’m also creating new stat blocks for stock monsters in the Monster Manual.
I just want everyone to understand that there’s no limit to how many stat blocks we can create for monsters.
Just pick whichever one you like and use that one.
Please don’t be offended if someone restats your post. That’s all part of the fun.
Feel free to comment if you agree, disagree, or have any opinion in any way.
I have the makings of a food forest. 14 fruit trees, berry bushes, sunchokes, 8 raised beds and 50 containers on a quarter acre lot in the middle of a small Midwestern town. My house is 980sq.ft. and a 4 car outbuilding covers part of that 1/4 acre.
I didn’t plant tomatoes this year because last year I had so many volunteers I couldn’t keep up.
I have mint, roses, lavender, and lilacs.
My raised beds and containers are growing longbeans, black eyed peas, asparagus, corn, sunflowers, strawberries, and jalapeño peppers. And loads of herbs.
I want more “set it and forget it” perennials, like the sunchokes and asparagus and rosemary and fruit trees. But more importantly, I also want to maximize my use of space.
What are good things to cluster together? I know carrots love tomatoes. What else? Is 3 sisters really just a myth?
Help!
Thanks!
FOAMed stands for Free Open Access Medical education. Apparently it’s a community of educators and medical professionals freely sharing medical training?
https://first10em.com/who-am-i/
I don’t really know anything other than that about it so I’m hoping someone here might have experience with the concept?
Is this legit? Is it for everyone? Or is it complex stuff that only medical professionals should do?
I’m just a mechanic. I know engines, not hearts. I mean, I’m trained in CPR and BLS but that’s it. Oh, and I did Stop the Bleed.
But I’d love to learn more on my own.
It sounds mint for preppers. Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me any advice?
Had my GB out 7 weeks ago. Yesterday I had a bit of pain in my right ribs and my urine was like tea. I tried drinking more water all day but this morning it was the same.
I’m going to go to the ER, but has anyone else had this happen?
Update: ER doctors think it’s an Oddi muscle spasm. Blood work has a bit of protein in the urine, but otherwise blood tests are all normal, liver panel came back normal. No UTI.
They said to watch what I eat (which I obviously do) and follow up if it gets any worse or if I develop a fever or start vomiting.
Fingers crossed, this is just normal
Wow. There are a lot of complaint posts on here!
If I buy an actual Amazon Fire TV (instead of adding a stick to a 3rd party set) will it just work? Or is there going to always be a bunch of set up issues trying to get it to work?
Thanks!

How to Get Started
Thanks for being part of the new wave. Together, let's make r/StatThisCreature amazing.
Can someone help me understand this? Like what does it mean by Melee Weapon Attack and Hit: 7 (2d4 + 2) piercing damage?
I have the Monster Manual but it doesn't really explain how to understand it, maybe im just stupid.
I just want my players to fight a pack of wolves
Thanks for your time and input its my first time trying to be a DM so sorry if this is a stupid question
Edit: Also what does it mean by +4 to hit?
I'm a newer DM (a one-shot, and a 4 episode campaign) and my next party is 7 players starting at level 5 😅. I'm using the Light of Xaryxis campaign frame but I'm worried the combat encounters won't be balanced or fun with so many beefy players. I've looked online for advise and I'm not really seeing much beyond don't have more than 5 players (too late) and have your veterans help the newbies.
Does anyone have any examples or advise on how I can navigate a larger party?
In spring 2024 I put in 4 bare root mulberries, 3 foot tall at planting. They all sprouted leaves and grew to 5 feet that summer.
Over winter 2024-2025 two didn’t survive. The other two thrived and grew to 10 feet tall last summer, full and lush.
Today, one of the two has a dozen tiny, weak looking, frail leaves and the other doesn’t have any yet.
The end 12 inches of branches don’t pass the scratch/green test and appear to be dead but the rest of the branches are still green under the bark.
It’s been a cold, wet, overcast spring so maybe they’re just slow to wake this year?
My SO wants to pull and replace them. No patience at all.
Any mulberry experts out there that can offer advice?
I’m in the USA, Midwest, Zone 6b
Thanks!
