Reeta Chakrabarti…
…I think she’s lovely and always enjoy seeing her. She had a smashing fun dress on tonight too. Any other fans of her?

Just found out that the Fighting Fantasy audio dramas are on Audible for ~£5 a pop. I’ve got these on CD but may get them too. What also interests me is Titan. Again, I have the book but think it would be an interesting listen. Does anybody know if it has chapters or do you just have to fast forward to the part you want? (This is more expensive at £15 though.)
I like the blue colouring of these lighthouse dice. The lighthouse icon replaces the one pip. Was thinking of maybe using them to mod an expansion for the Beacon Patrol game.
(Got these from diceshoponline.)
Next to my size 11 shoe. St. Osyth beach.
Well Star Rider’s got the Adventure Gamebook zigzag banner like the early Fighting Fantasy books. Is this some sort of sequel or prequel to Star Strider #27?
I recently noticed that some of my books were a mixture of green zigzag and dragon banners. Five were dragons so I splurged and replaced them so now that they all match up to Creature of Havoc #24, after which the format was discontinued in favour of the dragon.
Yes, I know books 1 to 7 are absent but i have those in Star format and didn’t want duplicates for the sake of completion.
Fun fact: Seas of Blood #16 has the banner text in black instead of white, and omits the Gamebook that prefixes the number.
Fun fact: Robot Commando #22 has the banner text in black too, instead of white.
Mostly sunbathing but managed to find this haul. Found the green bottle base literally as I climbed the steps to leave the beach. Also found a couple of green bottle necks to even it out!
Went to Morrisons supermarket last night and saw they were selling the Mighty Machines despite them eschewing the highly vandalism-prone CMF 29 series.
Initially bought one but they were such a fun build and intrigued by the game aspect I went back and was lucky enough to find the other seven.
£4.50 a pop so only £36 for the whole set.
Made a little mod on the wrecking ball one; put a spare yellow washer that came with it over the sticking up part of the grey axel. Looks neater, I think.
Spent an afternoon at St. Osyth beach. Found lots and nearly filled up an entire tea towel!
Was really pleased with the brown bottle base as I was just lamenting that I never find any brown glass. I must’ve manifested it!
I also never rummage through the shingle to find glass, I know some people do, but I sat down for a rest and raked through the pebbles beside me and found a dark green piece that was nicely frosted with some writing on it. So, it pays to rake!
I play Ticket To Ride (Days of Wonder) on my iPad and the AI never uses its stations on the Europe map. This seems to happen every time.
One station on Paris (to reach Marseille) would have allowed it to complete a 25 point ticket from Madrid to Moskva. Another station on Marseille (to reach Rome) would have allowed it to complete a 10 point ticket from Madrid to Rome.
So that’s 8 points (unspent stations are worth 4 points) to negate a 35 point penalty. Okay, so those two moves were spent claiming other tracks for points but not more than 35.
No?
Just got this game and like the big cartoonish numbers of these colourful wooden dice.
Yesterday. Was quite amazed by the four bottle bases. I believe they're called Mermaid Nipples, no?
This is interesting:
Typically Mirage could only make illusions based on a person's greatest fear or desire (before lazy writers retooled it into a generic psi zap) but in the frankly amazing New Mutants Special Edition (1985) we see her create a sea serpent illusion that all the other New Mutants see, meaning that either the parameters of her powers have changed or they all had the exact same fear.
Found yesterday at the nudist beach in St. Osyth, Essex.
I think these two wizard pieces (973pb4741c01 & 36036pb036) are great! They're specific to Build-A-Minifigure so you won't find them in any sets but I think every Castle should have one of these guys!
Pretty hot so wasn't really looking for glass as I just wanted to sunbathe and muck about in the sea but this is what I found just walking to and from the beach. Lots of big pieces (see 20p piece for scale). Bottom piece looks like bonfire glass as the strip's melted at one end into a hook.
Lots of stranded jellyfish too which I almost picked up!
Bought the X-Men Alert board game and was disappointed that Dazzler didn't get a figurine. I can't begrudge Chuck's presence, because he founded the X-Men, but would gladly swap him out for Alison!
It's not all about unearthing shameful secrets or dubious brainwashing.
From X-Men #12.
The flamingo one (third row far left) eluded me as no UK sellers on BrickLink had it, but I was fortunate to find it in a domestic job lot on eBay!
I mounted them on a baseplate and arranged them by serial number, because the universe must have order!
