Under what circumstances does a 4% withdrawal rate deplete an investment account?

I'm doing my own math in a google sheet and I can't for the life of me figure out how withdrawing 4% of the starting balance every single year would ever deplete the retirement balance.

What am I missing? I know the market isn't going to grow every single year but it's also not going to be flat over 30 years?

Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this question.

Complete list of custom routes

So clearly rouvy is not showing all of the routes that have been created. Is there any way to see an unfiltered list?

Rouvy Impressions from a longtime Zwift user

I have only been using Rouvy for 3 days now but I think I'm in love with it.

First of all, there's no sign-in screen. There's no device connection screen. You just start by picking what route you want to ride. That's so refreshing. Forget to turn on your Zwift Click? That's ok - just hit the button and rouvy will connect it in the background. So nice, so cleanly shown in the top right corner. Love it.

Second, there's the actual riding. Zwift looks and feels like I'm playing a 2003-era XBox video game and I don't mean that in a nice way. Rouvy looks like I'm actually cycling... in the real world, outside, on a bike. When my pace partner pulls up along side me I give the pedals two or three hard cranks to match speed and just like in group rides in the real world, I speed up to match.

Rouvy's data overlays are also much better suited to larger screens. I was always wishing Zwift would put more data on the screen. Rouvy has everything I want and leaves plenty of room to see the scenery. It doesn't feel crowded in the slightest.

My favorite killer feature for Rouvy might be route resume - there are so many routes in Zwift that I am never going to sit on my trainer for long enough to actually finish. But on Rouvy, you ride part of it today, you can ride some more of it tomorrow and ride again the next day until you finish it. That's a really subtle feature but huge for me.

And finally, I'm only now discovering custom routes - holy moly! Last time I had checked they had taken this offline - somehow I missed that they had re-launched it. The idea that I can ride virtually in places that I have actually been is wildly appealing to me. Zwift's routes are just extremely boring and nothing in the game resembles what the real world looks like.

The only thing I'm not super happy with is using my G1 apple remote to navigate. If rouvy could steal one thing from Zwift it would be the ability to use my TV remote to navigate the app which I can do in Zwift but can't do in Rouvy. But I'm managing and it's like 30 seconds of frustration tops and then you're riding and you don't touch it until you're done. Not a deal breaker.

New user. Neat app. Apple TV almost unusable.

I really like this app. I think the layout of the data on screen makes a ton more sense than what Zwift does. I also appreciate the less cartoony experience.

But I think I might have to go back after my one week trial. Zwift will allow me to use my tv remote to navigate. Rouvy requires that god awful Apple TV remote to function.

If I can’t figure out a workaround that will be it for me. Which is a shame because this app is really pretty.

List of Rouvy Workouts

Zwift has a website (not run by them...?) with all of their workouts viewable on the web.

Does Rouvy have something similar? I have a pretty specific morning workout routine that I would like to "port over" to Rouvy.

Also does Rouvy have robopacers like Zwift? I like robopacers when I need a "day off".

And as long as I'm asking questions - does Rouvy support Zwift COG + Click v1? - I've seen plenty of videos of people using v2 on Rouvy.

edit oh nice they take .zwo files.

"Learning" Mode

How far away are we from a "learning" mode where CoPilot watches everything that I do (when I tell it to) to document and perform a daily process.

I have a task where I log into a website, download 2 files, transform those tables (using PowerQuery) according to lookup tables (adding metadata) and then update another Excel file with that information and other info.

The whole thing takes about 10 minutes but it's just so simple and monotonous.

I understand it may be possible to automate this today with prompt engineering but I'm looking forward to AI eliminating that hurdle also.

I workout in my basement every morning - I don't like to wear a watch when I do because I sweat all over it and then I have to wear it all day - gross.

Can I pair my chest strap HRM to the watch and then not wear the watch while I'm working out? Will it still record the workout?

What's your favorite snack to eat with your cheap wine? Most of time I'm drinking wine after dinner and I don't need something else but on the weekends, I'm always looking at my snack cabinet and saying "yah but not with red wine...".

What do you recommend?

I want to change my retirement date from 2035 to 2040.

I think I know the answer to this but I got a scary note from Vanguard saying I might be stuck with all cash for 30 days.

"Important, please read

VTTHX: Excessive transactions can disrupt management of a fund and increase the fund's costs for all shareholders. To prevent this disruption, purchases or exchanges back into non-ETF share classes of this fund may not be permitted for 30 calendar days after this sale. The Frequent Trading Limitations section of the fund's prospectus explains these limits in full. You can also access our Frequent Trading Policy by searching on vanguard.com."

I think it's sell all of VTTHX and buy all VFORX

But I definitely don't want to be caught on the sidelines for 30 days.

I've tried multiple times over the years to sweep all my money market balances into investments and every couple years I notice I have tiny dollar amounts in each of my investments - why is that?

Is there a feature to just automatically sweep that to the investment in each account? (I only have 1 fund in each account)

Am I losing my mind? I swear you used to be able to sort playlists by column headers and it doesn't look like you can do that anymore?

Someone posted a bunch of links yesterday to planner websites and now I can't find it.

I tried Boldin but it gave me a bunch of pretty graphs and that's not how my brain works. I need to see the math.

Are there any Google sheets? I can set it up myself but I probably would forget something really important.

I (51M, yes I realize that does not qualify for Fire) have about 10 years left and I'm trying to do a better job of understanding where I'm at and what the finish line looks like.
