THEORY: 1997 Honda civic is melee OG chudat
1997HC hit the iconic “yayuhz” after his CEO Rumble win.
This is the entire basis of my theory I have no other information.
Is there a PVM leaderboard?
Just something I thought of that could be cool that I can't seem to find. Maybe I can try to vibe code it, is there anything I'd need, like APIs or something?
PSA: kickflip trouble? learn how to land your kickflips with each foot individually first.
I’ve given this advice so much here I figured I might as well post it. If you’re close to landing kickflips but having trouble committing, learn how to land it consistently with one foot on the board, and then the other. This will force your brain to do the part of the motion that you’re missing.
For instance, if you can already land with your back foot on the board, learn how to land it with your front foot on the board instead.
Once you can do both consistently you’ll be able to commit.
I stopped blaming and and learned how to do block pressure without spamming specials.
Feels good man. This was such a grind, took me 2000 jam games. Highest percentile I’ve ever been in a FG so that’s nice (1500 DR is around top 1.5%). I played a few matches against other 1500 ish players and it doesn’t feel too different from high D3. Pretty sure I’ll be able to hang without issue. Once I get towards 1600 I’m expecting it to get rough though.
Anyway just wanted to brag a bit after all my posts complaining about connection issues, rage quits, etc. and remind everyone it is possible if you stop blaming and start reflecting.
Messing around with XRD and…
Holy shit ramlethal is SO MUCH COOLER what the FUCK did they do to her in strive.
She was my first main in strive and I’m just in disbelief. Is the whole cast this dumbed down? Is the whole game this sick? Jesus man I feel so robbed of such a cool game. I understand now why on launch people were complaining about her rework, and the game in general. Like it’s fun, but it truly feels like baby game in comparison.
Good on the avatar devs for not dumbing anything down. We gotta get back to this type of game man.
Losing my mind at how bad this navigation is going from Staten Island to Brooklyn
There are 4 lanes. Maps says keep to the far left. The far left brings you onto a completely different road, which it then says the only way to get to Brooklyn is to go all the way from Staten Island to manhattan! Which, btw, is not the fastest way - if you take the first exit it reroutes to a faster detour. But if you don’t and just follow Apple Maps exactly, you will add about an hour to your trip.
Tiger knee vs instant aerial inputsi?
Hey gamers! I picked up this game over the weekend and have been having a blast.
One thing that’s driving me insane though is trying to tiger knee consistently (2369A). Sometimes when I try to high jump instant aerial I get TK fireball instead, but when I actually try to TK, it’s super inconsistent. Pictures for reference: first one is a TK, second is an instant aerial.
Does anyone see a difference in these inputs that can determine why I’m getting aerial instead of TK? Or, does anyone just know how to TK consistently?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Melty blood or UNI 2 for someone that likes strive but is a bit bored of the mechanics?
Hey folks,
I've been playing fighting games for several years, and between tekken, strive, and some sf have about 1k hours (or like 5k if you count melee).
I really have been enjoying strive lately, currently d2 trying to hit vanq with Jam, but I also feel like I know the genre can be so much more, and I know there are games out there that can meet my expectations. I'm probably going to keep grinding strive to vanq but after that I'm looking to give one of the two games in my title a try.
The two games in my title seem super fun and the most up my alley based on what I've watched/read. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend one over the other for any particular reason? For refence, I love mechanical difficulty / tech in games, which is something I feel strive is really lacking right now (I stopped playing for two years after they got rid of Ram's rekka 2 cancel). Something with fun, difficult, rewarding mechanics and deep fg gameplay would be great. Based on my digging I've came up with these two, and any help on making a decision would be really appreciated! I've looked into GBVS which is something I'm considering as well. Would love to just try them all but being employed sucks and means I only have so much time to try to get good at a game.
Just want to hear people's input here!! Thanks in advance.

Shows like Ergo Proxy?
If I had to tl;dr I’d say the surrealism, but I’ll give my full take on it and why I like it here, hopefully it helps give people some ideas:
This show is absolute all-time for me. It’s so artfully done, so skillfully conveys the doom and despair while still inciting enough hope to keep you invested. The post-apocalyptic cityscapes are beautiful, I love all the architecture and general world designs. Some later episodes have such creative and unique concepts (the mirror ep), and overall the story stays very good and episodes are interesting even after the plot climax.
I really love the surrealism too and indirect storytelling especially towards the beginning.
Anyone have recs of similar shows? I’ve seen evsngelion, and ping pong the animation; those are the only two I can think of that employ similar surrealism and evangelion for capturing that same gloomy atmosphere.
Not cancelling this is fucking insane
Who the hell does this shit bro
This was constant from frame 1 of the match btw
Just got a Yamaha P525, does anyone else notice something funky with the second to highest D?
The best way I can describe it is it sounds like the high D is from an electric piano preset. I was on the first piano preset and tried some others and still noticed it.
It’s almost like the note is louder and sharper than the others with the same pressure, but has also a strange overtone?
I bought a floor model because that was all they had and I’m worried it’s because the key is worn down.
I’m also wondering if it’s related to the resonant frequency of the speakers - planning to try with headphones later.
Just wondering if anyone else noticed this or if I should be concerned that I got a defective piano. I’m debating returning it if it’s just this one. Feel like for the price I should be 100% satisfied and not noticing a weird sounding note every time I hit it.
Hope no one posted this one yet
Clarifies they were “thinking of mango” in the replies I really want to believe they’re 100% serious
Last night I played a level 1400 Bridget who 5D’d on wake-up to punish my DP bait when we were both 1hp to win the set
Either absolutely brilliant or incredibly lucky mis-input, if it was intentional though wp.
I guess that’s why good players stand block for reversal bait huh.
How the hell do I progress through diamond?
I finally got D1 after 700 Jam games (!!!). I’m a returning player, have like 300 hrs previously, hit celestial with ram before quitting, and probably put in another 50 or so since I started again.
All through plat I felt there was a very clear path to improvement, but at this point I feel a hard plateau coming on. I’d really appreciate any advice that got people through diamond to vanq.
Things I’ve gotten way better at: baiting DPs/ODs, throw mixups (sooo many wins I get off of throw > command flip > throw), meter usage (BRC > air grab, not just ripping super or blockstrings), blocking
Things I need to work on: cross-up/general Oki, aerial mixups (jump forward > aerial > AD back > aerial), blocking
If anyone has any general tips or anything I’d really appreciate.
