Members / Samsung shop stopped working - One UI 8.5

Not sure if this is related to One UI 8.5 but I can't access Members / Shop app (Galaxy Store version) since yesterday. Anyone else? S25 Ultra, One UI 8.5

Samsung shop app (Galaxy store version) stopped working

Did anyone else experience this? There is no new update of course. Reinstalling the app via Galaxy store removed the error message but can't login. The app says I can continue as a guest only. Trying to figure out whether this is a widespread issue or localized to my device.

27" 4k G81SF for ~$600. Could not say no

Essentially I didn't feel like paying $1000 for PG27UCDM and pulled the trigger on G81SF instead. These are 4th gen QD-OLEDs.

Samsung has been offering a very generous corporate / edu discounts on G81SFs, plus received a bundle promo and $82 back in points (it's Samsung week and they 4x all points). Will report back when I get it. Before Asus boys start screaming "it's not glossy", for ~$600 IDGAF. Gonna be used purely for gaming.

$600 (with points) for Tab S11 Ultra 256GB. Yay or nay ?

Kind of on the fence. They give you plenty of points ($76 for Platinum level) though since it's Samsung week. Do you think prices will be cheaper during the holiday season? Very tempted to pull the trigger 😂

One UI 8.5 - Google apps screens look pitch black with very high contrast

What's going on here? I absolutely hate this update. All of a sudden sms app, Google apps menus look pitch black with very high contrast when dark mode is on.

S25 Ultra. Sample is attached

8.5 - Who notifications background is so dark. This is obnoxious

Received one UI 8.5 on s25 ultra. How do I adjust the blur in the panel? This is way too dark. I have a light wallpaper. Is background the same for everyone or some type of broken algorithm decides what to put on screen.

Sellers of used OLEDs are completely out of the touch

So I’ve been browsing FB marketplace for a used OLED panel for a family member, and the prices are absolutely unhinged. Are people genuinely this out of touch? Some dude is asking $800 (originally priced at $900 🙄) for a 2024 32" UCDM with 3,000 hours like he’s selling a museum artifact. And there are tons of listings like that. Who are these mythical buyers paying premium prices for a monitor that’s been running more hours than McDonald’s ice cream machine 😂

Your used OLED is not an RTX 5090, I promise. Monitors depreciate like everything else, they’re not gold bars, they’re not vintage Ferraris, they’re not rare Pokemon cards.

Am I missing something here? What’s the secret sauce of the used OLED market? Do these things actually hold value like fine wine, or is this just pure, concentrated seller delusion mixed with a dash of greed?

Edit: oh look downvotes already started! 😂 Who am I to say that used UCDM is not worth $800, right? This sub is something else. They would even defend used OLEDs at any price

Metro 2033 - A pinnacle of visuals in 2010s

ImmersiveRealisticGamePlay YT channel posted recently the entire walkthrough of 2033 Redux on maximum settings.

I always keep forgetting how good this game looks even though it was released more than a decade ago.

Come on, Nvidia, throw us a bone or something

Last 5090FE drop in the US was 2 months ago. Do you think they are done for the year? Because 5090 is amazing card but it's not $3500+ amazing

Buds4 pro for $176 with EPP discount. Yay or nay?

What do you guys think? I'm still annoyed that they don't offer trade-ins 🙄 I would need to sell my buds3 pro somehow. Just hate dealing with FB marketplace lawballers.

Essentially you get $44 off via EPP / student discount plus $30 off in instant savings.

LG C5 55" (2025) for $970. Yay or nay?

We need something more decent to replace our 55" $250 TCL. Is C5 55" for $970 as good as it gets? Or should we wait for a deeper discount?

u/just_IT_guy — 14 days ago

What do you guys think? This is a pretty good deal.

32GX870B-B with 4th gen woled panel is right around the corner though and it appears to have some significant improvements. Would you wait?

u/just_IT_guy — 15 days ago

LG gives you 10% discount if you have a first responder/ nurse validated account. Is this as good as it gets at the moment? I would love this puppy for my rtx5090, but the price tag is quite steep. My wife certainly will not approve this purchase 😂

Edit: u/cesarb12 mentioned that SPRING10 promo code gives you an extra 10%. I checked and it works. Essentially you are looking at $1457 plus tax. This is getting interesting at this price point.

Looks like Samsung is aggressively trying to clear shelves and discounted NEO G7 at $350 (plus free Resident Evil) if you have a corporate or student account with Samsung.

You certainly will not get a pure OLED like experience using this panel but this is the 2nd best thing for gaming after OLED and it's 70-80% close enough.

4k 32" OLEDs go for $1000. This is an absolute no brainer purchase if your GPU can handle 4k and you can't afford spending $1K on oled monitor or just want something cheaper with better text clarity and no fringing or burn in concerns for productivity tasks.

u/just_IT_guy — 16 days ago

Just received notification from Samsung. They also give you $50 credit.

Also wondering when MSI 322UR QD-OLED x24 is gonna hit the shelves in the US. Asus needs some competition.

Trying to upgrade my work setup. Need 2 27" QHD monitors with something higher than 60hz refresh rate. I will not squeeze out 180hz via Lenovo t14 thunderbolt when connected to the deck, but 120 or 144hz would be a massive upgrade. Yay or nay? $234 for each. I don't think there is anything better out there at this price point
