The worst UX isn't a red error. It's when nothing happens and you're just left staring at the screen

i just spent five minutes earlier today staring at a screen, completely paralyzed by an action that actually succeeded.

I clicked a primary action button. The interface didn't break. No red error message. But the button didn't change state, either. No loading spinner, no toast, no subtle checkmark. It just sat there looking exactly like it did before I clicked.

i know how modern web apps work. I know auto-save is a thing. I know optimistic UI is the standard. But my brain absolutely refused to believe the system actually did anything.

I was debugging a tiny save-state issue on menuforma this afternoon, and I literally caught myself opening Chrome DevTools to check the network tab just to see if the 200 OK payload went through. That’s how little I trusted our own quiet success. I helped design the damn logic, and I still needed to inspect the backend response just to feel safe closing the tab.

it hit me that we do this to our users every day. We build these incredibly quiet, optimized flows, and then wonder why people act so paranoid.

As an industry we spend so much time obsessing over error states. We make sure the red text is accessible, the warning icons are clear, and the recovery paths make sense. When an action fails, you know exactly where you stand: 'okay, it didn't work, here is what to do next.'

But when something succeeds? A lot of modern interfaces just give you crickets.

we've got so obsessed with 'frictionless' design and zero-latency performance that we strip away the visual proof of success.

But ambiguous success is actually worse than a clear error. An error gives you a next step. A silent success just throws you into the void. It forces the mental load back onto the user to figure out if they can safely close the tab, or if they need to mash the button three more times just to be sure.

Apparently, my brain just desperatley needs cognitive closure. When an interface doesn't give us some kind of physical 'thud', that loop stays open. It just feels unfinished.

its why people still obsessively press Ctrl+S in Google Docs (which we all do, let's be real) even though it saves every keystroke. We don't trust things we can't see or feel.

I’m starting to think a 300ms placebo loading spinner or a completely useless 'Saved' checkmark does more for peace of mind than the most perfectly optimized backend in the world.

We aren't designing for servers. We're designing for anxious humans who just need a little proof that the machine actually heard them.

36 tattwas

In saiva siddhantham, there are 36 tattwas which categorised into :

  1. Athma tattwas(24)

  2. Vidhya tattwas (7)

  3. Siva tattwas(5)

Total = 24 + 7 + 5 = 36

Do IIT provide intern in machine learning for non-techies

I was about to complete my masters in pharmacy. I am very much interested in doing an interdisciplinary projects in future(ML + drug discovery/statistics).

I managed to learn basics of python by myself from free courses online and some libraries like pillow , openCV basics. But i want to get exposure on how scholars solve real life problem using AI/ML.

Do let me know if I can do any intern and how do I need to approach for internship. It would be more than helpful ❤️

How to understand literature tamil?

Kaalai vanakkam anna and akkas , thambis and paapas.

I have been brought up getting exposed to saiva tirumurais and other saiva canonical texts like tiruppugazh , pamban swamigal songs.

Until my schooling i got to have a good score in tamil. But that doesn't help me with understanding literature tamil. While reading thevaram and listening to lectures on thevaram i couldn't grasp the meaning.

I have questions like :

  1. What is the purpose of yaapu(யாப்பு)

  2. Why can't the authors of thevaram write urai nadai(உரை நடை) instead of seyyul(செய்யுள்)

  3. How to understand "சீர் பிரித்தல்" in tirumurais. Like why a word is splitted into 2 and added to before word or the word which comes after. It's difficult to understand.

  4. Also I am struggling to understand the porul(பொருள்) of words. Do I need to use agarathi?

I don't have any tamil teachers to teach me formally but i have all these questions in my mind and please shower your insights and answers.

நன்றி❤️

Is there anyone who can help me with understanding FSSAI regulations for neutraceuticals

what are the regulations I need to follow to manufacture a FSSAI complying product.

I heard for FSSAI we need to produce COA just once in six month and i think FSSAI unit doesn't need area qualification to be done like in pharma.

I have a lot of doubts, your insights would be more than useful for my career.

Thanks in advance.

Why create a world of souls are eternal?

Souls are eternal but not identical to siva.

Souls are already obscured by ANAVA MALA.

The world is manifested by siva to let the soul gain knowledge through experience , to mature spritually and to receive moksha at last by siva's grace.

So, siva gave this world , enjoyments , body and tools to experience the field and to go near him.
