I was in my 30s before I got a king sized bed and it took a while to get used to my feet not dangling over the edge. I had been sleeping like this for 20 years and was just used to it. I'm assuming our super talls are still dangling?
Hi there. I've been tasked with setting up a sub for a local community advocacy and advice group as a forum for providing assistance. My question is if I set up a new user account to create and admin the sub, what is the minimum age and karma requirements for that user account to create the sub? Is there any way to fast track this?
Many thanks!
It's very very cold here and I've been looking for a good warm, slightly spicy winter frag. Bought this and Asad blind. Absolute banger. The smoky sweet top notes settle into oud and sandalwood beautifully. Really impressed for the price.
It was so many sons ago.
I'm in the process of busting up an old couch and have a small mountain of couch foam to deal with. I have very limited bin space and I'm wondering if a chemical solution exists for decreasing the volume. Sorry if this is a stupid question, cheers.
Years ago I had some neighbors who I shared a driveway with. They were a nice older couple, really friendly. Whenever I walked past they would always say hello and we would make amiable small talk. The guy in particular was really nice and super generous too. Once he randomly gave me three dozen brand new fancy golf balls that he had won in a raffle and didn't particularly like.
One Saturday afternoon I notice that the rear derailleur on my bike is sticking. I check my garage and realize I'm out of CRC (it's lubricant in a can like wd-40). "Well that's not a problem" I naively thought. 'I'll go ask my nice neighbors if I can borrow theirs for five minutes'.
So I wander over and knock on the door. The wife answers with a big smile and a friendly hello. I say "Heya, sorry to bother you. I was fixing my bike and realized I was out of CRC. Sorry to be a massive pain, would I be able to borrow your can for like three minutes max?". She just stares at me trying to process what I've just said. She says ".......sorry, what was this?". I explain about the sticking derailleur and how I was out of CRC and if I could borrow some for a minute. At this point she's still smiling, but it's a slightly frozen, slightly concerned smile. Without taking her eyes off me, she turns her head slightly and shouts "......Dave!".
So the husband comes to the door, wreathed in smiles "Heya mate! What I can do for you?". I explain, again, about the rear derailleur and the CRC situation, and my incredibly humble request to please borrow some, and my infinite gratitude if they could oblige. Well at least that's what I thought I said because the look on his face suggested that what I actually said was "Would you mind if I started eating your cat's shit?".
He stares at me blankly for like three seconds and then turns to his wife. She just shrugs. It was like the physical embodiment of "I have zero idea of what the hell is happening here". He collects himself and says "Oh......Ah..... Yeah. Yes, of course. It's in the garage, please follow me". His wife puts her hands palm out beside each shoulder and walks off like "I'm bouncing from this whole bizarre situation".
So we go into the garage, he hands it to me. I say "Cheers, I'll bring it right back". I spray the rear derailleur, spray some onto an old toothbrush and give the mechanisms a go over. I test the gears, works perfectly.
I bring the CRC back, and when they open the door there is a marked change in their usual reception to me. I hand the can over and he takes it back like it's a live grenade. I say "Hey, thanks for that, I'll make sure I grab a can next time I'm out, much appreciated guys, have a good weekend" etcetera while they tentatively side eye me. I go home and think "........what in the fuck was that about? Am I going insane?". I replayed that event a lot trying to work out what, if anything I had done wrong. I would even ask to borrow people's CRC just to gauge their reaction.
Years later they are moving out and we are catching up for those discussions you have with moving neighbors "Good luck, All the best, You were a great neighbor, I'll see you around etcetera etcetera". The wife says "Oh, this will make you laugh, when we cleaning out the garage and putting everything in boxes we saw the CRC, and I said to Dave 'Maybe we should give this to the neighbor!' and we both had a big laugh about the time you borrowed it!". The pair were roaring with laughter at this and I was going "Ha haha ha yeah that was really funny" and thinking 'Ok, seriously, what the actual fuck?!'.
