I thought he loved me back

All that flirting , sharing everything, prioritising each other, dreaming about eachother frequently, talking for long hours was platonic for him. Started talking to his ex just the day I confessed to him and they are almost back together. Changed too, no more of that platonic behaviour exists anymore.

I hate abuse is normalised by saying " Just Brown parent things"

Insert 'the fact' between hate and abuse.

Yeah most brown kids.are abused and obviously they are super normal about it. If anyone even tried to talk about their experience everyone would say it's nothing new cause they have obviously experienced that thing tons of times or even worse.

So people grow up knowing that's super normal and unavoidable .

Still one of the best stories I've ever read

So basically when I was in 4th grade I read this really wonderful story in a magazine (perhaps shuktara? Or anandabazaar) and I got really attached to it 😭

Basically It was about a lil girl's room. She always slept w her parents but one day smt happens (maybe her parents have an argument) so she goes to sleep in her room. Turns out EVERYTHING in her room is alive OMFGG. Later she goes on an adventure with some objects(?) cause a homeless woman's son (who live on the yard of her house) is really sick and might die.

It was super wholesome 💌 . Call me childish but I wish I could read it again.

A father is entertaining a guest as his son suddenly barges in the room.

" DAD, DAD, DAD , DAD, I WANNA GO PEE, I WANNA PEE, I WANNA PEE!" He screams. The father is extremely embarrassed.

"Dear, next time you want to go pee, just say you wanna go sing at the music academy. Okay?" The father secretly tells his son.

Thus, when the son feels the urge at night, he wakes his grandfather up , with whom he always sleeps with .

" Just sing in my ear!" The annoyed grandpa says.

A goat and a camel are eating grass together.

Since the camel is much bigger and taller than the goat , it's eating too much, leaving very little for the goat. So the goat comes up with a plan.

"Where do you live, brother?" He asks.

"S - a - u - d - i - A - r -a b ." The camel replies as he slowly lifts his head.

Meanwhile, the goat aggressively eats , leaving almost nothing for the camel.

The camel tries to pull the same tactic.

" Where do you live?" The camel asks.

"Here." The goat quickly replies as he continues to eat.

Let people read and write problematic stuff. Let them explore taboo topics. Authors can create whatever they want . And some people really need to know that fiction is fiction. Writing about something doesn't mean you condone those things . If you don't like it , don't read it.

Basically I see a lot of posts shaming authors for writing problematic stuff. I mean I get people criticising them for their rude behaviour or their weird claims of how much of a green forest their Red Flag characters are or condoning those toxic shyts. And I also get other complaints like not fleshed out characters , extremely tropey premises etc. This are Totally valid and understandable.

But what bothers me is people criticising authors for literally any out of the box things they write. Like I remember seeing a post a while ago where a fic contained cheating. People called the author out, the author responded that she knows it's wrong but it's her fic so she can write whatever she wants . But people were still shaming her. Like why?? She's writing for free? Some people actually like this trope! Yes , it's wrong, but can't they enjoy it in fiction?

As someone who frequents Ao3, there are a gazillion weird , absolutely sick and horrible fics there. But we simply read what we like, avoid what we don't, and don't shame anyone. Criticism is Obv welcome but the author is not obligated to change their writing and shi.

Last but not least, I'm not comparing the two platforms, but I just wanna say that, you're free to have an opinion, but don't force it on others (there are exceptions though iykyk).

About the novel ' Satyabhama' by Ram Mori...

Have y'all read it? And is it available online in English? I looked for it but only found the Gujrati og version.

I watched Krishnavataram and hated it (anyone well versed in Mahabharata and other puranic stories will). I wanna check if the book is as bad as the movie.

Which opinion will get you like this?

I have lots of them 🤓, but the most prominent one is that the mythological stuff in the Mahabharata are actually metaphors and sometimes just added to entertain people.

Looking for a book (part 1/ many cause I wanna reconnect with books I've read in the past ;"3)

It's a novel or novella written by either Samaresh Majumdar or Sunil Ganguly.

Basically there's a girl who helps people around (e.g. from domestic abuse or anything else) . Her name was Chaya. The plot twist is that she's actually a living dead .
