What kind of reasons did you give for the extended leave? I work IT and run around all day. Trying to keep my diet up at work would be impossible but I don't know that won't reasoning would be enough. Other complications as well but I don't want to get into it. About to hit the soft diet but know I won't be able to keep up with the food, water, and pills.

You guys that went back to work are amazing. I don't know how you did it.

Back in October 2023 my insurance started denying my claim of Humira which I had been taking since December 2015. Little known to me I had Psoriatic arthritis. I never knew because I was taking the Humira for my Plaque psoriasis which covered 85% of my body. One day out of the blue they stopped approving my Humira because it was too expensive. The doctor switched me to Skyrizi. It was one of the most horrible decisions ever. Whatever inactive ingredient in Humira was not present in the Skyrizi. All of the sudden I had pain moving. My joints ached. Then one day my left knee blew up with fluid. I went to a sports doctor and he thought it was gout so he drained the fluid in the knee. The knee was still flared up. He recommended I see the Rheumatologist who talked to me and discovered the skin medication had changed. She told me to go back to the Dermatologist because the Skyrizi had made my Joints worse. The Difference in formulas were different and the Humira was taking care of the Psoriatic Arthritis that was never diagnosed. I suffered for a year because I didn't know the Skyrizi had caused the issue. My doctor pushed the prescription though and my Arthritis has gone away. Please keep me in mind if you have had the same issue.

This will be the last post in this Subreddit. I just want to get it off my chest. I'm so sick and tired of seeing the same designed house with the same contractor. I've complained about them enough. Same old boring designer. Same boring contractor. Light colored flooring, useless slot walls that are a mess to clean up dust, gas fireplace, hanging light fixtures, dark front door with the glass panel, bidet toilet, and led mirrors. same old overpriced tactic. This investment group is buying up any home they can get their hands on, hire the same designer and contractor to do the work then price them under one million to start bidding wars. This is one reason why no one can afford any single family homes in the South Bay. They are single handed buying everything they can grab for the flip. Same formula each time. I hate every agent that are listing these homes. The investment group think they're smart because they use different agents from so many different companies. Sorry but rant over.

If anyone is in the San Jose, Ca area and needs protein powders and shakes we can negotiate a small fee. I'd hate to see them go to waste. I'm done with them. I have clear powders, clear premade liquid, sealed box of ensure protein, premier wyse and other liquid and powders. Just private message me. Thank you.

my A1C is normal, I don't need the pain meds or my cholesterol medication, I actually bent down at the knees to get my old clothes from under the bed without grunting. I finally put on my wedding suit I last wore in 2003. I can finally fit in clothes from 2000 to 2005 and Jeans I wore 10 years ago. This is unreal. It was just the right time. 29 pounds down starting from the preop liquid diet to now in 4 weeks. I don't mind a stall is coming up. My body is ready.

They were serious about not drinking anything with the food. I took down some water right after a half hour of chewing puree rotisserie chicken with a spoon of salsa. Wow I was overfull. I don't even feel like I ate that much today. I still have half a cup in the fridge. My stomach wasn't ready for that. Whew. I even fell asleep from a food coma. Live and learn.

Post op 12 days and I still have pain at the incision site where they pulled out the stomach. All the other cuts feel fine. The higher one feels like it’s about to rip open every time I sneeze, cough or use my ab muscle. Is this normal? Im also sending this message to my surgical team.

Ever since surgery last week I haven’t felt the bit hungry. I’m trying to keep the protein drink down but it gets tedious. I want to lie down but I feel like I’ve been drinking forever and I drink more than a sip it hurts. What other thinks has anyone drunk during this liquid phase for protein other the. Shakes, yogurt and fat free soups. I’m guessing most of you just sucked it up and drank cause you either consume protein or your body will start losing muscle mass.

Previously I mentioned I spoke to all my Doctors except for my sleep clinic. I woke up a couple of times with dry mouth and gasping for air at times. They just remote connected into my Bipap machine and my pressure has changed. I need less pressure now. This was one doctor I forgot to tell I was getting the operation. Sleep is everything. Still can’t meet my protein intake and liquid goals. Last night I had my bipap machine on and I could have sworn I woke up because I stopped breathing. I woke up gasping for breath. Before a tight chest would only occur if I drank more than my stomach could handle. Now I have dry mouth in the middle of the night a couple of times. Does this sound normal to anyone else?

3 days post off. Wanted to know how everyone got over the hump. My stomach is mad and pushing around whenever I sip. Pain is only a couple seconds but feels like eternity. No way clinics expect you to drink one ounce every 10 mins. I just don’t wanna end up on IV drip. Sorry for ranting but where in my papers does it mention that.

Guess my next post will be sharing Post op experience. Ballooned up 30 pounds to 292 during covid. Dropped to 280 after I made some adjustments. GLP 1 didn't work for me for over a year. Dropped 10 pounds then I had to stop cause my gallbladder was removed. I gained 5 and decided I had enough. I was offered gastric sleeve surgery about 10 years ago but didn't go though with it. I didn't have anyone to drive me back and forth to the hospital. Plus well I love food like everyone else.

Now that the health problems have added up and I'm diabetic, I said that's enough. I decided to though with the surgery, one year of appointments under my belt along with meeting the criteria and here we are.

So many of us have such different experiences with the initial liquid diet. One of the hardest parts is knowing what to eat and keeping hydrated. I take this with a mechanical approach and I've given up on the emotional attachment to food. I just had to. Yes it's hard but I manage. This is my approach. Your milage may vary.

I alternate between water, protein shakes, one cup of non root veggies with beef or chicken broth and garlic boiled for 8 minutes medium high and repeat until bed. Have a sugar free popsicle or jello when I want. I've set my phone for 2 hour intervals between each cycle. If I miss the water then I get a sinus headache. Shakes don't count as water, neither does broth in the veggies. I've done this everyday for the past week and I'm down 11 pounds. I do need to move around more and walk more. Met with all the interested parties. Psych, doctors, and surgeons. Need to fill out paperwork for leave management. I have a supportive work environment. I have a scared but supportive wife and son. I show your before and after pictures and they love it.

I've bought clear protein for after surgery. 10 min intervals of 1 ounce water every 10 mins and 1 ounce protein at every half hour. I know I won't meet all the liquid requirements but the worst thing I can do is give up. There's so much learning involved. Ask ask ask questions to everyone and anyone on your team.

My body is ready.

Stayed up late cause I almost screwed everything up. I used my old notes and didn’t delete folders and files they tell you too. Needed to delete older apps that aren’t compatible and block servers with a custom ini file before connecting to the internet. Tried updating the boot software before the AIO pack but it overwrote the latest boot software plus I didn’t delete certain folders. So much trial and error but it works again. 3 hours later. Learn from my mistake and write down what you did and what files you deleted. Really helps. Also use Gemini and take a picture of your screen if you get an error. Really helped.

I found this Saturday event on Eventbrite a couple of months ago. I got to test drive everything. Rivian, Tesla, ford, Hyundai, lucid, and Toyota. There were hardly any people. I was expecting more people cause of gas prices. There was a group of people protesting Tesla, an accident where a woman backed a Rivian into a giant Ford pickup, a couple of different cars to drive, some booths regarding home stuff, free taco or burrito when you were done and no pressure to buy. Only two proud electric car owners showing off their normal EV’s. the people working must have expected more foot traffic. Great event but the foot traffic was so bad. I guess times have changed and the hype died down.
