+2 Gray Ram issue/not booting maybe as I did some work on the board

I got this one working around Christmastime, cleaned the board replaced the belts but had the scart issue with no 128k sound and left it at the time intending to fix it.

Had it in cupboard until 2 weeks ago, took it apart without testing it then realised I had the wrong resistors, ordered new ones then ripped a trace so left it until I worked out how to fix it, I think I fixed trace (ran wire from via, to a capacitor leg on same circuit. put board back in and got a messed up screen.

Tried a diagnostics rom and it says upper ram failure, other ram test said I had 16k available.

Have attached a few pictures and will upload the actual reference later, I did notice a few darkened pads when I took board out so I reflowed them at time so may of broke something.

Fixing torn trace/line part 2 - advice wanted.

Pic added.

Tried soldering to the trace but what remained fell apart, but noticed the line does to the leg of capacitor, I have removed the capactior so it's easier to see,

Can I just solder a wire from the capacitor leg and run it to the via?

Oneplus 9, unlocked bootloader, flashed pre requisites but no longer showing ADB devices

It's a brand new phone, I unlocked bootloader and afterwards went into stock OS and enabled usb debugging again, then booted into fastboot and flashed the 4 requires files exactly as the official guide says but when I go to use ADB it's not showing a connected device, fastboot still shows it but not recovery.

I have no question marks in Windows 10, latest Oneplus drivers.

Using official cable, it can't be a Windows issue as I was successful in flashing a Nord CE2 Lite a few hours before.

Resistor via damaged and the copper trace lifted, can it be saved?

It's not clear but it's the line next to the via, basically the leg wasn't moving likely as it's a 40 year old board, was crusty but I cleaned with 99$% IPA, added fresh flux and solder to each resistor and all but one I got out, only two others were a bit awkward likely due to age (solder was only going on a small amount rather than a blob)

This one the actual copper is lifted from board but still there, shall I tin it then mask most of it apart from a small amount and use that to solder direct to resistor or to a tiny wire.

Or even run a wire through the via to the trace that way the entire resistor leg is soldered so has strength.

+2 Gray AY sound fix, can I get some advice

Last year I wanted to mod my +2 as the scart audio was basically inaudible but never got round to it.

I have recently been in the mood to do some soldering and was looking at doing it, took it apart and the board is different than the ones online, the 2nd +2 one is fine.

Just checking even if the board has a slightly different layout of the resistors as long as they are numbered the same will it be the same places and values?

Recapped Game Gear that was partially working before, now not playing games.

EDIT - I looked at the board again and one of the pins for the screen had gotten bent.

Now I have a partial screen picture, but no sound will take a photo of that and update but in meantime do the caps look ok?

▲ 11 r/SEGA32X

Thinking about testing my 32x that has been in storage 25 years at parents.

I did look at it and looked like discoloration on the metal contacts at front, but unit looked great, took it apart and looked brand new inside, no leaking/bulging capacitors.

But should I still recap it if I have issues.

Also I have a multi region Japanese console, so if I remember I have to region mod the 32x to play at 60hz?

Just got the av cable today to connect the console to 32x to test, just want to check before I do anything.

Is a +2a tape deck repairable?

Bought this 2 years ago, the seller packaged it badly basically bubble wrapped it and had a small box over it, the computer works in every way but the play button is broken, the worst one to happen to

at the time the actual button was fine but I pressed it down and it didn't catch and snapped off, I took the computer apart and the white clip that presses on/off has snapped off.

So the only fault is that broken part, and I assume I can get a replacement button.

Tested it with a DivMMC so games work fine, just want to play real tapes on it.

I did buy a few more of them so it's not that I can't play games just if I can fix it, I can then sell it on to someone rather than take a huge hit.

Is my cooker repairable?

First up I won't take it apart myself just trying to work out if it's an actual wiring fault or a cooker fault.

Cooker 2 years old rarely gets used as I have a pressure cooker/instant pot, a air fryer and a small glass halogen oven so only the hobs get some use and once or twice a year the oven as make a large meal for friends/family.

Had some people in to replace floor vinyl a few weeks ago and notice since then only 1 side of the hobs work, and the oven/grill works.

The left side works which has 2 hobs and has a light to indicate this, the right side doesn't light up or get power.

Thinking it was a wiring issue as had to rewire it in a few months ago when I was painting and it didn't come on at all it did look like the ground was loose but still touching but barely, I made sure it was in right and wired it back in.

Same issue as before, one side gets power the other doesn't

I don't want to hire a repairperson to find out it's not fixable as it's a cheaper cooker, and don't necessarily want a new cooker as it's only 2 years old and rarely used.

In UK btw,

Whatever happened to Lee's bars like Macaroon?

I know in more recent years they got worse, smaller and more expensive like anything but I don't remember seeing them for many years at this point.

Used to buy them in Farmfoods mostly, and sometimes at a corner shop.

Can't see anything on website saying they are discontinued just that they make snowballs, teacakes and meringues.

Keeping suction on vacuum cleaners to a good level over time?

Every Vacuum I have owned even Shark ones work amazing for the first few weeks, and then still pick up, I mean I can go around my apartment and the container (doesn't use bags) can be half or more full, I have a dog but even before I had a dog it was the same, moved house and the same so it seems to be a usage issue.

I pick up a lot of dust, and can do crumbs, but visually if I look at carpet it looks like I haven't done anything.

I now have 2 smaller Shark vacuums, one battery powered one corded and both pick up great, on their own they pick up a lot but if I use the main vacuum first the carpet looks brand new (minus any stains)

I check the tubes, sometimes soak the containers, wash filters (which do collect dust) and any plastic filters I wash out, leave at least overnight to dry and only put back on once I know they are done.

Barely does anything if at all.

So not sure what the issue is, no matter the brand, or used or brand new a vacuum only picks up great for the first few uses.

I don't think filters would go that quickly and they visually look fine.

Random thing, but my hair hasn't grown since it was cut 6 weeks ago, is this normal?

In my 40's, male

Always had very thick hair, which is why apart from hair line thinning since my mid 20's I always had very thick hair, used to get teased and told I look like a Beatle, or Austin Powers for examples.

Up until my mid 20's it would grow so thick and so fast I had my fringe/bangs covering my eyes and had to cut it shorter and that was with a hair cut every 6 weeks on average.

The fringe/bangs started thinning in mid 20's but hair was still so thick until my 30's that if I didn't get it cut every 6 weeks on average if I brushed it, then it got tangled.

I have been noticing for past year I need a haircut less, 6 weeks is more like 9 or 10 weeks then it speeds up quickly, also getting gray areas in hair, like single strands of hair have a zebra like pattern i.e can be random tiny white pieces, and then a lot of black, then a tiny white piece, mostly around fringe and sideburns.

I also have been having a lot of health issues in past 2 years so may all be related, gained a lot of weight due to other health issues and was on painkillers for 6 months until around same time as I last got hair cut.

I would of thought the hair still grew but was thinner.
