Very long shot as all I can remember is it was a budget release and I think on an island, all I remember is that there was a guy who didn't like the hero may of been the female leads father and near the end of the film his personality is different as he has been smoking opium!

Can't really remember much apart from that, I'd say it was a 1970's movie.

I still haven't attempted to fix the damaged boards I have but I have one fully working and in good condition however it needs the mod for the sound as via scart the 128k sound is very faint, like I can max out the volume on my speakers (which are huge) and still barely hear it, but the bleeper sounds are loud even at a low volume setting.

Here's the issue though, the board I have is a later revision so the guides I find online show a different layout, it is a +2

Are the traces the same i.e do I replace the resistors at the same points even if they are on the other side of the board?

Bought the card at start of year, it replaced a X-Fi Titanium that I was happy with but was a pain everytime I reinstalled Windows 10 to manually install the software.

I installed the AE-7 even reinstalled Windows and noticed it didn't sound as good but stuck with it updated to latest drivers and suite.

About 2 and a half months back I noticed the stereo connector kept being intermittent, wiggling the cable sometimes fixed it and assumed it was the connector so soldered a new one which didn't fix the problem and somehow the rear right isn't working, bought a new cable, reinstalled Windows twice since then, even bought a replacement 5.1 set of speakers of same brand (Creative) and tested both the old and new speakers with the old cable, and new cable same issue so must be something else though somehow SBX is acting strange like bass is unable to be activated, if I activate any settings like dialog+ or surround they cut out the left speaker at different points, for surround its 26 for dialog+ it's around 55

I have checked SBX settings, tried manually adjusting

I stupidly realised I have onboard 5.1 and tested that and all speakers work and levels are balancedn so sounds like it may either be a software issue or some issue with the hardware.

Next step for me is to take card out and reseat it, but any advice is appreciated.

I have bought yet another ZX Spectrum (up to 6 now) listed for spares, this one had garbled text first time I booted it, but I left it on for a few minutes whilst I looked for test cart then switched off at wall, then tried test card and it worked fine but gave keyboard button press error.

Also it wouldn't reset the test roms even with the built in button, it was only doing a partial flush of what was on screen.

I cleaned keyboard and it seemed to work, but each time I pressed reset it rarely reset, either the previous image be it game or like 48k mode text was still there, even removing power for a few seconds and back in it didn't clear, had to unplug it for about 10 seconds to clear fully, maybe a ram issue? But upper and lower ram passed tests.

With the issue occuring on both the actual reset button on the case and on the rom cart's microswitch could there be a fault on the reset circuit? Games are loading fine and playing find and other tests seem to pass.

I bought a used 7.1 Creative speaker set around 2011 that I use to this day, I did change the main speakers for hifi speakers though.

Recently broke the cable and found a cheap replacement 7.1 Creative setup for next to nothing so now have a spare.

The only major flaws I have with it, is that it only has analog inputs and i'd prefer digital ones.

I found out when looking for the manual the model came out in 2004.

How many people here actually use proper sound setups and not just pc speakers be they stereo ones or surround sound?

I am in my 40's now and when I first left home I used to take vitamins daily for months then stopped after I moved back to parents for about 18 months, then moved out and about 6 months later began them again.

I always felt better when on them but not sure what level of that is placebo, in the years since I have gone a year even 2 years without taking them, then I take them short term and actually feel better.

I normally feel rough all the time but feel close to ok when I take vitamins.

I normally take cod liver oil capsules and a multivitamin.

Whenever I go to my doctor and get blood tests almost never do they show anything except in winter months I need folic acid tablets.

I am actually ok with my PC speakers I got used 15 years ago but can't get a new cable for the custom 7.1 cable and there may be an issue as sound isn't coming through one of the rear channels even with different speakers (does get power into speaker and I can hear hum and I replaced the wiring with new ones)

Seems to just be a design flaw as the centre channel is coming through the wrong speaker but this may be as it's expecting the custom wire.

I want something small, and is 5.1 compatible, but the problem is it must take sound from the computer be it by analog, optical or any other possible method, if it works with my tv it's a bonus.

Ok, main reason I haven't opened a dispute yet is the item was a used/recycled laptop at a good price and would struggle to get one at same price.

Before anyone mentions the seller mispriced it etc they had about 10 available when I placed a buy it now, and listed another 10 afterwards and don't have more than the regular negative feedback and they sell used IT equipment.

6 days after I bid I messaged them and they got back to me saying they were short staffed and busier than normal and would post it last Monday and send me an Ebay voucher.

On Wednesday I message them again and ask if they have sent it and no response as of yet.

It just feels strange it's now been 2 weeks and they haven't even shipped it but are still selling a lot of items.

For context, friend of mine is autistic but so am I, I also likely have PTSD from a few traumatic instances in my 20's as well as anxiety from bullying growing up.

I am very caring and like to be nice to people, he normally turns up once a week when bored, we get food and then he leaves, I mentioned last week it was my birthday and the first thing he said was (in a joking tone) "I won't buy you a present" and laughed.

But as soon as he found out another friend was coming who can get him some smoke he outright said "oh I will be there then, can get some smoke from (other friend)"

Other friend at last minute said he may not be able to arrive so this friend went "oh maybe I won't turn up then"

Friend B said he will be here but late, so friend A decided to turn up then.

As Friend B would be late I decided to cook some chicken I had in fridge and make some wraps

I did say for friend to help himself but he ate a lot of it,

When Friend B arrived he bought sandwich platters he was given for volunteering for a charity and a few slices of birthday cake, Friend A basically ate most of the sandwiches.

I offered to give him some of my very small cake to take home and he agreed, when I went to cut he he moaned how the slice was too small, it was 1/4 of the cake I was giving him, 1 slice for myself, 1 for each friend and was keeping one for my mother who bought the cake.

He never offered to clean up before leaving, so I had to clean the pan, plates, utensils etc he acted like it was any normal day and as if he was a kid at his parents.

He seemed very ungreatful, not rude just like a disappointed kid.

This is a vent but would be greatful to see how others felt about this.

Ok, I am knowledgeable in the basics, I bought an earlier cart which was more a boot cart only and I own 4x Action Replay Plus, 1 I think is official as had it for about 20 years now and 3 have the newer font.

I had to shave the edges of one of the newer ones to get it to work properly with my Japanese Saturn.

Anyway the part that always confuses me is the different advice on carts, as I have a Fenrir I don't need the action replay functionality of the cart but want to keep the ram part of it and backup cart feature as I plan to play some RPG's that take up a lot of space like Shining Force 3.

What is best thing to do here? And ideally links to guides on what to do.

This isn't my street, or even my house number.

I have looked at Google maps and it doesn't match other streets near me either.

I am inexperienced with soldering but have removed the chip with hot air after a few hours of trying to use a iron, flux, wick, even a desolder sucker.

The pad above where the capacitor goes has gone, what is best way to fix is it to run a wire to another part?

Secondly I have bought sockets for this, another IC and a faulty ram chip in case I can save them but if I can't where can I get cheap replacements in the UK?

I saw an untested old games console, it's from a company that seems to list random things including untested old consoles.

I wasn't sure if I would be right to ask seller for a refund so I sent a polite message asking for advice saying it arrived but is faulty, and wasn't sure if there was anything that could be done, got a response saying it said untested on listing therefore it's up to buyers to choose to buy or not.

I don't want to cause an issue, and I think it's fixable but the cost of item wasn't much cheaper than a tested one.
