Alex Vindman spent 36 times as much on ads as did Angie Nixon, per AdImpact data. The loser here spent $2.2 million and the winner spent just $60,000, with zero spent on broadcast or cable.

Do you think the Nuggets trading for Jaylen Brown would have lured LeBron to Denver?

After the reporting that the Sixers trading for Brown was key in LeBron’s decision to sign with them, do you think if the Nuggets had landed Brown that LeBron would have signed with them?

And what would it have cost? The Celtics accepted a meager package from their division rival that just bounced them in the playoffs. Surely they would have preferred to trade Brown to another team if they had a viable offer. Do you think they would have accepted AG and Watson for Brown?

Question about Chase extended warranty protection

I'm filing a claim under the extended warranty protection from a Chase card and it requires a repair estimate from "the authorized/licensed repair facility". What counts as an authorized repair facility? I can't find any info on this from the Virginia Surety Company, which handles these claims for Chase.

The item is a pair of Bose headphones and Bose does not have authorized repair facilities. Bose also does not provide estimates of repair costs.

Nick and Wildes saying that Landon Donovan’s teams never did anything more than Pulisic’s teams is wrong

In 2002, the USMNT made the quarterfinals of the World Cup. After they soundly beat Mexico in the round of 16, they barely lost to Germany in the quarterfinals. That’s a much more impressive showing with a team that on paper had less talent and worse coaching than this current USMNT that got blown out in the round of 16 in a home World Cup. Four years ago, they also got blown out in the round of 16. And eight years ago Pulisic and the USMNT failed to qualify for the cup at all.

[Yglesias] I think the fact that Mamdani has changed basically none of the Adams administration’s policies is a vindication of my take that the policies were pretty good! I’m happy that progressives are now happy with the same policies.

Dialog invitation contradicts Ezra Klein’s depiction of the retreat

A Columbia professor posted the invitation that he received for Dialog 2022, and it does not jibe with Ezra Klein's portrayal of the retreats.

Ezra said that Dialog wasn’t sold to him as a bunch of big names, and that he wouldn’t have been interested in attending if that's what it was. He said he went in 2018 and 2022. But the 2022 invitation featured a long list of big names front and center including Tulsi Gabbard, Grover Norquist, and Bob Rubin.

Ezra also said that no one asked him to keep the retreats a secret, yet the invitation said repeatedly that it was entirely off-the-record.

He portrayed the retreat as casual, but omitted that the full price of admission for an individual was about $17,000 (although some people were offered discounts).

Ezra said he thought Thiel was no longer involved with Dialog when he went. Yet one of the participants listed on the invitation was Thiel's fellow cofounder of Palantir, Stephen Cohen.

They still haven’t fixed all the bugs from the previous update and are about to do a huge update tomorrow. What could go wrong?

These numbers are totally inaccurate

I Love Boosters needs awareness

Hey!

I'm Boots Riley- writer/director of I Love Boosters.

The NRG surveys tell us that awareness of this movie's mere existence, overall, is low. Neon did spend on marketing, but a lot of it was internet and streaming ads, which are a problem for me in particular as I've been historically muted on social media platforms and with this movie in particular, people have shown me cases where Meta has said that they weren't allowing reposts to be seen as widely because it was connected to "organized criminal activity".

I'm asking for your help at this late date. If you've seen this movie and like it- let patrons of your theater know. If people seem to be unsure of what to see, and you like my movie- let them know about it.

These facts may help:

We have 92% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and 75% on Rotten Tomatoes from the audience. We have 3.8 on Letterboxd and a B Cinema Score (given by the audience).

So people like the movie when they see it. Most people who are fans of me, or of Sorry to Bother You, or Keke Palmer, or Lakeith Stanfield, or Demi Moore- don't know about this movie. If you're a cinefile and follow this stuff you do and it may seem like folks know. It's a problem.

Many areas are having packed audiences, but in others its a struggle. I think this movie is one of the antidotes to the boring stuff that big studios push. Sure- Obsession and Backrooms are great, but since they are in the horror genre, big studios will look at that as being the exception that they've always set aside for horror and keep doing everything else the same.

I think this film has things in it that no one has ever seen before and will inspire a lot of filmmakers. It's hopeful and about the future we can create together.

This film won't "blow up" at this point, but I can get Neon to hold back digital and we can run this like a slow roll out over the summer and just tread through all the big releases while moving steadily.

Thanks for your time. And while i never worked at a theater, I worked at Bott's Ice Cream across from Rialto's Elmwood Theater and I would hook up everybody that worked there with free ice cream everyday.
