IMO she has really done the same kind of album in different forms four times over with differences that are only subtle sonically. The reception to 30 after a very long wait showed that maybe she needs to reinvent her approach for the next record so that she is bringing more to the pop culture table.

Can I Get It and Oh My God suggested a promising new direction, as did Water Under The Bridge and Send My Love on her previous album. What are your thoughts on Adele releasing a majority-uptempo album? It could breathe new life into her career and honestly we could all use some bangers right now. It would go really well with her voice and she could leave a few slots on the track list just for the most essential downtempos.

It has been yet another long wait on the back of an album that didn’t make as much of a cultural impact, but an uptempo record could be an instant classic IMO. Thoughts?

It’s a very particular groove. It’s the same propulsive bounce of the beat in If U Seek Amy, Spaghettii, Wait Your Turn, and ManUNkind by Metallica. What’s it called? Are there any other songs with this type of beat?

Rihanna is an absolute oddball of an artist in that she has been on musical hiatus for a whole decade but when you look at her Spotify numbers, she is literally the #3 artist at the current moment. Her catalog has had such an absurd longevity that we have basically never seen this sort of thing from any other artist in the past. Taking a decade-long hiatus without losing any ground in terms of cultural relevance is new territory and it is something no artist has achieved before.

So what is it about her music that has afforded her such a privilege? What distinguishes her catalog from other artists? What has made it age so well?
What is it about the album Anti that allows it to stand as a pillar of artistic quality that gave her a pass to chill for 10 whole years?

It’s also worth noting that her Super Bowl performance was a genius move that boosted her longevity a bit further and gave her the room to take even more time off than she would have otherwise. What were the creative choices that went into that performance that brought about this incredible result?

She has always been supportive of her “rivals”. She sang Only Girl and Born This Way at her Teenage Dream shows. I also remember she performed Halo at some award show to tribute Beyoncé.

Remember the Reputation era? Every look was so cohesive, cool, edgy, and completely in line with the worldbuilding of the album

Unfortunately, I feel like that’s not something she has been good at with other eras. The last three eras have all been a blur of glamorous Hollywood outfits that could belong to each other. Especially Showgirl which doesn’t see to have a distinct fashion theme in any way. There is no attempt to keep things visually cohesive and it often feels like she could be in the Midnights era or Red TV era or any other era, basically.

With all the resources she has she could take some notes from the way Beyoncé, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga keep their eras visually discrete, or even examine her own Reputation era. Each of Taylor’s eras would be that much more wonderful with a tightly executed wardrobe rather than her dressing however she wants. With Showgirl, the cohesion of her wardrobe has devolved into slop and we don’t even know what era we are in.

Does anyone else agree here?

That girl group HYBE is trying to create in India… I hope they make it diverse with South Indians, North Indians, Northeast Indians, etc.! I would love to see different skin tones. It would be wonderful to see that representation and unity in a country that is very much held back by tribalism.

It really seems like Megan has lost the exuberance, hyperactivity, and passion that made her her.

She looks dead behind the eyes in all videos and isn’t going full-out in videos and performance despite standing out for her moves and expressions earlier.

It’s really sad to see and it’s probably a direct result of management pushing the group in a bizarre gimmicky direction she doesn’t feel reflects her. That sexual slime play in this latest video feels beneath her.

She isn’t doing a bad job or anything but she seems weary. Sophia has also lost her spark in some way, and Lara as well to an extent. Has anyone else noticed this?
