So yeah this happened.

I posted earlier about going to see The Cybertronic Spree tonight. Wow, wow, wow, what a show! They had some amazing guests, and a fan even showed up as Perceptor. His costume was every bit as good as the bands. I actually went up to him first, thinking he was one of the guests and asked him if he could get the band to help me out. He laughed and said "Dude I'm just a fan." We had a good laugh, and I went to the merch guy, bought a couple shirts, a patch and two pens. Then I busted this out. He was kind of flabbergasted. I handed it to him, and he asked me to come back after the show, and it was signed by everyone! He told me that it almost didn't come back out from backstage because none of them have a copy of this. So it's super extra special now and will be a cherished piece of my collection. If you ever get the chance to see them, do it. Arcee has some serious pipes on her, and the whole performance is top notch. Also, the opener Space Man Bob was insane! I got to talking to him and found out he is the lead singer of Playboy Man baby. I have seen them multiple times, and once I knew who he was, we had a pretty great conversation about some punk stuff. All and all a great night of really fun music!

Kidding, I only ate 4. My dogs are gonna be in heaven for the next few days. Nugs and apples. These toys are really cute and well made.

Foodies

Alright, you scurvy sea dogs, I'm looking for the best and the worst places to eat between Newport and Ocean Side. We live in Salem, and I frequent Local Ocean. Looking for breakfast and lunch joints that are good, bad, or underrated. We pretty much have dinners locked and loaded. Otis and Shuckers are mainstays as well. We will be out this weekend and are looking for not Cannon Beach.

Hot tubs, spas, whatever you want ro call them.

As a long-term pumper and new to the pod life, how do people do the hot tub or spa? I have a tub, and so far, with the pod on my arm, everything is ok. But what about applying it on my belly or thigh? I know that heat degrades insulin, but will a quick fifteen minutes be an issue? I use tegraderm under my pods due to tunneling and don't want to create any problems.

Whew, that's a lot ...

Finally finished.

Hello once again! I posted a few weeks ago mid build, and I am now ready to show off the completed project. So, let's dive right into it.

Coleman BT200 frame, 224 Predator, with some billet parts. Stiff springs for the valves, torque converter, stock rear sprocket, disc brake in the front, big ol' street tires, upgraded foot pegs, led lights front and rear. I used a spare Harbor Freight 40v lithium battery and an after-market cradle off of Amazon to power the lights. I had to change the pin locations in the cradle because they didn't match the battery, but after that, everything came to life. I also used a step-down converter to take the 40v down to 12v for the lights. They are super bright, and I suspect the battery will last a few days.

I did put four holes in the frame to run all the electrical. I know some people might object, but they are pretty small, and the bt200 frame is quite thick.

It's supposed to be over 90 up here in the PNW this weekend, so I hope to get out and ride a lot. Have fun and be safe!

Some weekend fun.

A few friends and I went to the 41st Annual NW VW Bug Run in Woodburn Oregon yesterday. Here are just a few pictures. There were a lot of beautiful vehicles and some standout restorations.

Hello!

I saw your post over on the other sub and figured I'd join. Here is my work in progress that, oddly enough, finally came to life today. BT200 with a predator 224, billet flywheel, clear flywheel cover because pretty, nibbi carb, and torque converter. I did the disc brake mod upfront because the stock brakes suck. Nice big street tires too!

She's a beast even though I haven't swapped out any of the internals except for a governor delete and stiffer springs in the valves to try and stop floating. She pulls really hard and, if not careful, will pull the front end up easily.

I'm still putting her back together and planning on doing something a little differently with the fenders. I also might look into a different exhaust because she is crazy loud.

Anyway, thanks for starting the sub, and I hope it gets a good deal of traffic.

Saw a 60 minutes piece on these Straight edgers, I didn't know it was a music scene as well.

Growing up 90s New Zealand I saw a 60 Minutes piece on straight edgers in the US and it definitely stuck in my mind, apparently it was centered around Salt Lake City and they might beat you up with a baseball bat if they catch you drinking a beer. They didn't smoke drink or take drugs. It may even be still a scene. Fascinating.

I'm seven days in with a G7 and Omnipod 5. This thing has been pretty damn great other than leaking after 2 days. The first night sucked due to the numbers they had me start with didn't cover my dawn phenomenon. I knew it wouldn't, but I just wanted to give the Dr. a night of "I told you so." I didn't even wait until they responded in the morning to up the early morning dose to twice what they started with. I hate getting hit with alarms at 3:00 am. Since the change. I have been in range about 92% of the time. Would be higher if they didn't start leaking with 50u still in the pump! I made some changes (over patch and skin tac).I hope that it stops the leaking and I can get a full three days out of it.

I have been a pumper for many years. Unfortunately, Omnipod wasn't covered until a year into my last tslim. I had to wait until it was out of warranty to switch. I don't miss snagging my tubing on door knobs, drawer handles, and random weird things.

The android app is pretty legit for me as well. There are no bugs or issues so far. I also use the dex apps as well as xdrip+ so I can get my numbers on my watch. It's about as smooth as I think tech can be for now. If I could get my meal recording app to auto drop my carb intake into the Omnipod app, that would be cool.

Anyway, yeah, I'll try to check in next week to see if anything has changed.
