Is there any way to update the GOG version to the latest patches?

I know that the GOG version is outdated and that only the Steam version gets updates, but I would prefer a version of the game without DRM where I could just run the .exe directly without a launcher. the Steam launcher is a massive RAM hog.

Gemini keeps re-adding elements I asked it to remove from photos

Prompt 1: I ask Gemini to make a given image X

Gemini: generates the image

Prompt 2: I ask Gemini to remove element Y from X

Gemini: removes Y from X, so far so good.

Prompt 3: I ask Gemini to add element Z to X.

Gemini: adds element Z to X, but also re-adds element Y

This bullcrap happens every single time I try to edit an image prompt-by-prompt and remove things I don't want and add things I do want. It's beyond frustrating.

Is anyone else here old enough to remember when the antonym of "based" was "cucked" instead of "cringe"?

When the word "based" was coined on 4chan in the mid 2010s, its antonym was "cucked".

However, when Redditors and other normies started using the word "based" in the late 10s and early 20s, they used "cringe" as its antonym instead of "cucked"

Now almost everybody outside of 4chan uses this new antonym, whereas the original "cucked" is relatively obscure and forgotten.

It's odd how you can't really play a Lawful Good character in Skyrim

Most RPGs let you play the whole game as a completely Lawful Good goody-two-shoes if you want to.

In Skyrim, however, you can't really do this unless you want to skip at least 50% of the game's content. There's so many quests and questlines that can't be resolved in a Lawful Good manner. Your only option if you want to play LG is to just not complete the quest at all.

The Companions questline requires you to become a Werewolf in Whiterun to continue and there's no option to side with the Silver Hand.

There is no option to fight against the Thieves' Guild. You can't even do anything about Brynjolf openly asking you in the market to frame Brand-Shei.

You also can't even complete the Unusual Gems quest without joining the Thieves' Guild.

There is a quest to destroy the Dark Brotherhood but to get it you still have to kill Grelod for Aventus, which is Chaotic Good at best.

Most of the Daedric quests have no option to side against the Daedra, you're forced to either leave the quest unfinished forever or do the Daedra's bidding. (with 2 or 3 exceptions)

The only way to complete quests like "Lights Out!" is by working with the criminal and doing what he asks. You can't report him to the guards or anything like that.

In the Dawnguard questline, there's no option to kill Serana or turn her in to the Dawnguard, you're forced to escort her back to Harkon.

is it a sin to say "f--k" if you're literally referring to sex?

If you aren't using it as an exclamation or anything like that and you're literally talking about sex (the word's literal meaning), is it still a sin to say "f--k"?

The 2010s were the absolute best era to be a young adult

The recession was over, the economy was booming, there were well-paid IT jobs everywhere, necessities like groceries, rent/mortgage, fuel, electricity etc and even luxuries like eating out, cinemas, gaming etc were all perfectly affordable for the average person. You could easily move out and live by yourself in your early 20s.

This all ended in the 2020s due to the compounded combination of lockdowns, wars, outsourcing jobs to Indians, AI etc. Now both the bread and the circuses are completely out of reach to everybody but the already rich.

Millennials got the last chopper out of Vietnam.

Looking for a mod based on World War 1

I'm looking for a mod that does one of two things, ideally both.

1: Adds a historically accurate start date at the beginning of WW1.

2: Expands warfare in that era and makes it deeper, more interesting and more historically accurate such as by adding new technologies, inventions, units, events, decisions, etc. It would also be a big plus if it made the AI better at fighting late-game wars.

I want a mod that is to WW1 what the A House Divided DLC is to the American Civil War.

I feel like if Paradox continued making DLCs for V2 after HoD, the next one would've been about WW1.

Are there any star systems with multiple important planets?

It seems to me that each important planet in the Star Wars galaxy is in its own star system and there's no star system that has more than one important planet. For example, you never hear about the other planets in the Coruscant system other than Coruscant, or any planets in the Yavin system other than Yavin 4.

Are there any counterexamples to my observation?

Why is the Artemis program so much slower than the Apollo program?

The Apollo missions were each within a couple months of each other, whereas Artemis 2 was **four years** after Artemis 1, Artemis 3 will be a year after Artemis 2, Artemis 4 will be a year after Artemis 3 and so on.

When the End came out in 2011, how did players figure out how to get there and kill the Ender Dragon?

Did Mojang give all the information away or did players somehow figure it all out by themselves?

Is it possible to beat Classic Ironman vanilla EW without losing a single council country?

I'm a perfectionist and I feel compelled to beat the game this way. Whenever I lose a country I feel the urge to start over and hit new game.

Are there any active survival/hunger games servers for any pre combat update version?

I missed out on that back in the day and really want to experience it as it was then.
