Overwhelmed!

Full disclosure, ESO is my first MMO so I'm aware some of this might seem like basic stuff - but I've found myself struggling a bit to lose myself in ESO as I hoped.

Part of it is the sheer volume of mechanics and systems; I don't have ESO+ (I will certainbly get it if I stick with the game) but what drew me to ESO was the middle-ground it found between TES games and typical MMOs. I feel like I mostly get simple stuff, like:
-Ah yes, armour and how good it is
-Attributes and what they do
-Standard mmo stuff like questing and exploring

But I sadly feel very overwhelmed and intimidated. I'm still new (level 16, messing around in the stonefalls as a DK Nord) and the main story has grabbed me-but it feels like for every new thing I understand there are 10 systems I don't get.

Levelling and skills feels like a guessing game; I read the skills and basically pick the ones I think would work best, but so much of that tends to be how much DPS they do or if they fill a gap I've noticed in combat (aka, if I find myself regularly lacking health I'll seek out a way to heal).

I am trying to just immerse myself as a Nord in the Pact following the main story and helping locals out as he might do, but feel very strongly like I'm doing things "wrong."

I find myself totally unable to shake this feeling that ESO is this enormous beautiful manor full of fascinating people and things, but that I'm sort of awkwardly stumbling around on the street outside. I am sure the solution is either

-just play and work it out, dummy
or
-watch hours of tutorials

But I figured I'd just put the way I feel into words to see if anyone has any reassuring words that all of this will begin to "click" or if by level 16 still feeling lost is probably a sign I haven't been paying enough attention.

POTENTIAL-MAN 4: Revenge of the Something / Rayman 4 Concept

You are John Ubisoft.

You have been given complete creative control over a full-fledged "Rayman 4" title, intended to act as a direct sequel to Rayman 3.

What sort of game do you make?
What's the story?
What sort of levels will we have Rayman explore, and what sort of new powers do you think you'd give him?

I'm extremely curious to hear how long time fans might envision a return to a 3D Platformer Rayman.

Will you stick to tradition and create a tight and polished linear experience, or get wacky with it and try make "Rayman Adventure"?

most importantly, what does Globox mess up this time?

Roleplaying in ESO for a Noob

Hello all!

I absolutely love the Elder Scrolls, and I'm jumping into ESO for the first time. I plan to play as a Nord, but one thing I'm curious about - roleplaying in ESO!

I'm aware that it'll likely be expected for me to level up a lot so I can understand the gam ebefore trying to jump into an RP community, but I wanted to see if anyone has any experience roleplaying in ESO?

Not necessarily anything big in scale or complexity, but even the very casual level of exploring the world "in character."

How is the RP scene in ESO?
any tips that might help me on my journey to immerse myself as John NordMan would be much appreciated.

"Catching Up" to Rift Apart

Hello!

I was away from Ratchet and Clank for a long time and fear I have forgotten a lot. I know there are differences between "timelines"(? with the "future" games etc) but I was recently gifted Rift Apart and I'm absolutely dying to jump in.

Normally I'd have no aversion to replaying older games to get a grip on things before a new sequel, but in this case I have a loose grasp on some basic things but not nearly enough to know what's going on. I know story isn't necessarily the bread and butter of the series, but I'd love if someone could in essence tell me:

What exactly happens between the end of a Tools of Destruction and the start of Rift Apart?

My memory is foggy, but of what I do remember:

  1. The Dimensionator; it allows transport between dimensions. This explains where the Lombaxes went, and where the cragmites went. Tools of Destruction saw us face down Tachyon as he tried to "avenge" this.

  2. Clank gets taken away by the Zoni, at some stage?

In essence; when I jump into a Rift Apart are there any major characters or changes or things I should be aware of story wise?

Inferno, Radiance, or Umbral?

Presume you have to pick one.

Which of these do we think is the best outcome for the world of LOTF? Does it perhaps depend on which civilisation, even among humans?

My instinct is that Umbral is naturally the worst, given the finality of it, but is there much to be said as to whether Adyr or Orius will best serve their faithful?

A "Good" Fate in LOTF's Afterlife?

I have seen some suggest that everyone, no matter what, ends up in the Umbral when they die.

Is this true? Seems incredibly bleak for no god or devotion to said god can avoid everyone ending up as some slimy creepy mess in the Umbral.

Cosy, Populated, Fantasy MMO?

I don't want to waste anyone's time so I'll frontload the post with exactly what I'd love to find, then add extra beneath it:

Setting: Ideally fantasy; a big and beautiful world full of magic and varied locations.
Population: Not really worried, as long as the game isn't winding town/terminally declining.
Money: Happy with sub/f2p/b2p. The less (exclusive, ie basically unobtainable without cash shop) paid cosmetics or systems the better. Wishful thinking, I know.

Other: Controller compatability (like in FFXIV) would be amazing but not at all essential! A strong roleplaying community/general friendliness to casual players is also very welcome.

Details:
The only MMOs I have ever really tried are WoW and FFXIV; the former I have only dabbled in, the latter I have played up to the end of Endwalkers.

I like Fantasy MMOs because I love creating a character and losing myself in a big and populated magical world-even though I play a lot of it solo, I like the social aspect still being available for once I'm comfortable with the game.

Friendliness to casual players is cherished simply because I so often played FFXIV to chill out back in the day, but unfortunately the FF setting just got a bit stale for me. I loved the setting of WoW, but it feels far too daunting to try and jump into it now-especially given how infamous its community is.

I've even considered trying Runescape now that it's reportedly had a lot of the paid stuff peeled back-really I'm just looking for a fantasy world to kick back and explore while I relax!

What I liked about FFXIV:
-Gamepad compatibility (as in, I didn't have to create some insane button map just to keep pace with KB+M)
-Noob/casual friendly (and a friendly community in general)
-Accessible and great set of mogs without needing to use a cash shop or anything
-Able to "solo" a lot of content, but able to engage with a very big and popular social side to the game if I want
-Good story+fleshed out setting

Some I'm considering, but worried about being "too late" to ever really do anything but play catchup:
-Guild Wars 2
-LOTRO (albeit worried about population)
-ESO

Some I'm waiting for to see what they're like:
-Archeage Chronicles
-Monsters and Memories

Fundamentally, if it's a beautiful fantasy world devoid of the worst MMO monetisation pitfalls-I'm probably in! I just want to find something I really like before I leap in>:)
