So excited about this! I included some screenshots of the upcoming scan. Looks phenomenal!
Michael had taken home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy series that night for his role as Alex.
Trying to get my mother into older classics! It has been pretty hit or miss and I figured everyone here might have some great ideas. I put notes down below of the aspects she enjoyed. She enjoys and is open to any genre besides horror! Aiming for 70s or prior as that is what she typically avoids.
Any recommendations welcomed! Thank you in advance :)
Liked:
North by Northwest— almost bored her in spots, but the plot and action sequences were interesting enough to keep her engaged and overall she thought it was really good!
It's a Wonderful Life— her favorite by FAR!! She had no notes. Perfect. Entertaining and moving.
Paper Moons— not all that old, but I'll count it. She thought it was great, funny, and stirred up the right amount of emotion.
What she says she enjoyed about these: captivating plots (which she says is a must), and enough action / lively sequences / fast pacing, and were very evocative / moving.
She wants to avoid anything slower paced!
Didn't like:
Umbrellas of Cherbourg— wasn't moved... somehow. Normally likes musicals but didn't enjoy the operatic style of it.
Casablanca— bored!
And Leah got in on the fun for some reason. What the hell, sure. Thanks to u/WayOutbackBoy for the vince screenshot that Ashley posted and deleted very quickly.
Bridget Loves Bernie, Meredith's first sitcom, and also the highest rated show to ever be cancelled in its first season, is getting a physical release from Sony, long after the DVDs have been out of print. (And the good news is only Meredith, and not David, can profit off of it)
Curious if anyone has ever gotten this from Winky's Whimsies before and what your experiences were like!
Basically 10 mystery fidget items sold on clearance due slight damage / cosmetic issues that don't affect usability. Around $28 after shipping
Checked and it was up to 470. Highest I've ever seen it. Hope everyone is staying safe. Try to limit outdoor time if you can. It's recommended to avoid ALL outdoor time if possible.
My mouth itches/becomes irritated whenever I eat walnuts, pecans, but especially almonds. Is this just a normal thing due to the abrasive texture of the nuts, and I'm being a hypochondriac?
Pretty sure cashews and peanuts (which I know are technically legumes lol) don't bother me at all. Almond milk also tends to upset my stomach for some reason.
I love whims but I have had them turned off for a few years because I couldn't deal with the onslaught of constant fears.

Is there a way to have one without the other?
I've seen a lot of overpriced items on shopgoodwill, but $25 for ONE dvd is really cracking me up. Great movie though
To be clear: I love Jade. She has been my favorite member since 2012, and I have followed her solo career extremely closely. However... I am extremely saddened by this recent collab. It just doesn't make sense to me that Jade would work with Lily Allen given Jade's values.
For those who don't know, Lily Allen has a fairly racist past. She put her boyfriend's penis in blackface and tweeted a picture at a black woman, denigrated and shamed black women in her video for Hard Out Here (and got mad when people pointed it out), randomly insulted Corinne Bailey Rae (a black singer) for not being edgy enough for her liking, as well as cheated on her husband repeatedly with sex workers.
I don't hate Jade, I don't dislike her even a little for this, but as someone who is a POC, I am just really... bummed out that that is who she chose to work with.
This is the only space I really have to talk about little mix so I hope this is okay to post about here. Please don't attack me or Jade as I would just like to have a mature conversation about this and wondered if others felt similarly. Thank you. <3
Edit: it has pointed out that she dressed up as Dr Luke in support of Kesha, so I have removed the sections of the post pertaining to that and rewrote it to be centered around the things she HAS done, so we don't lose the plot so to speak. I do still find the costume completely missed the mark regardless of her intentions, but I'm glad it was not done in support of Dr Luke.
It also doesn't really change the other things she'd done. Even putting the costume thing aside, she, at best, has a racist past and so my feelings about this collab remain the same and I wish Jade hadn't collaborated with someone who used to constantly put down black women.
