Keyhole cichlid with dither fish in a 30gallon enough or to small?

Is a 30gallon tank enough to keep a pair of keyhole cichlids with a group of dither fish (probably a species of tetra for a South American style tank) and maybe a bristlenose pleco (this one comes from another tank where he is the less dominant male) but the bristlenose isn’t a must for me if it makes the tank to cramped I wil not add them

Dwarf cichlid options for 20gallon (60x30cm 2x1foot)

What are some dwarf cichlid options for a 20gallon community tank and what are some species I can keep with them? I was looking for less standard options than apistos and rams, I allready have a Apistogramma cacatuoides in another tank and rams are or to sensitive or not as flashy. And what are fish they can live with, I was thinking of kuhlis and maybe emperor tetras or celestial pearl danios but if those are not possible i wil look for more compatible ones

Can Apistogramma cacatuoides golf there own with eba

I have a 4foot tank with electric blue acara and I was wondering if I can add some Apistogramma cacatuoides as a second cichlid or wil the electric blue acara just bulldoze over them. My acara are really peaceful behavior wise there closer to keyhole cichlids than eba and they dont retaliate against aggressive fish (they where with polar blue parrots who kept harassing them and they always backed up)

Senegal bichir tank size

Can I keep a single albino Senegal bichir in a 100x40cm tank with some dither fish like boesemani or congo tetras, or a pair of peaceful cichlid like keyhole cichlids (the most peaceful even when breeding they don’t enforce territory’s there only a cichlid by name not behavior)

Firemouth pair and bristlenose in a 40inch 40gallon

Can I keep a firemouth pair with 1 or 2 bristlenose plecos in a 40 inch 40gallon? If it’s not possible what is a other good option for a cichlid pair? It has to be in a pair my fish store doesn’t sell lose cichlids unless you already have one

Eba not wanting frozen food

Hi I have a pair of electric blue acara and the male just refuses to eat frozen foods (bloodworms) is this normal for them. I heard they normally really like it and can refuse normal fish food and only want frozen or live foods but mine is just the complete opposite

Tank size for polar blue parrot species only tank?

What is a suitable tank size for a pair of polar blue parrots, I have bought two for my 63 gal community because at my fish store I was told they where peaceful (now I realize that in the store they where peaceful because they where with like 10 geophagus and 2 firemouths) and in 1 day they have targeted my male eba and my Siamese algae eaters to the point of minor surface wounds (really small but still wounds that could become worse as the parrots age)

Aggression level zebra parrot cichlid

How aggressive are zebra parrot cichlid really? In the store I was told there peaceful and would go great with electric blue acara Siamese algae eaters and loaches but online i read they can be part convict so now I am stressing over if they are going to hurt my other fish. Update: they mostly leave each other alone but the parrots do sometimes chase the acaras away and leave tge other fish mostly alone, there isn’t really any actual attacking and all still get food. And there in a 4foot long tank btw

▲ 1 r/pleco

I bought 2 bristlenoses (common wild varieties) in September and now one has gotten really big and is close to or has already surpassed 3 inches and has some good bristles but the other one is closer to 2 inches and has gotten very pale and his bristle are really short and thin. When I bought them they where both 1 inch when I bought them and at first the bigger one was actually the smaller one but then increased in size drastically and has gotten a lot darker but the other one after having bred once has just stopt growing and has gotten very pale in the last few days, and has probably had some sort of health issues with him being very thin, but has thickend up a bit. And I was wondering if the smaller one is still healthy and wil survive or if I have to intervene

My female electric blue acara has been guarding the nest and no one is allowed close especially the male, with other fish they actually have to come close but the male is halfway across the tank and she still goes after him.

▲ 2 r/ponds

Hi I am planning on getting a 1500 liter pond for my backyard that’s 225cm long 70cm wide and 118cm deep (it’s one of those big plastic ones that come in one piece). And I was wondering what fish I can keep with a group of dojo loaches, I was already thinking of goldfish but they seem so basic.

Can dojo loaches live in outside ponds in the average Dutch climate, in winters it is freezing at night most of the time with a lot of clouds and in summer days can get 30degrees C. For a bit of extra info, I am looking into building a pond that’s about 1500liters (it’s one of those big plastic ones you buy as one piece) that’s 225cm long 70cm wide and 108cm deep with 2 small leadges on ether side (I think there bit about 12cm so the deepest part is about 200x70cm of surface area) with probably a superfish clearpro 15000 uvc and a 600watt heater of in the winter. For fish that wil be with the dojos it wil probably be goldfish or a small species of roach (Dutch name is bittervoorn) but if there other better options I am open to suggestions, and how many could I get away with since they thrive in big numbers.

What is the demand for electric blue acara in the Netherlands because I really want to start breeding them to fund my tanks and I have electric blue acara and they have pared off and are laying so I thought they might be a good one but I just don’t know if the demand is really there

Hi i have a pair of electric blue acara and i was looking for some fun name ideas. I was thinking of some game or movie inspired names but most are of 2 male characters

I just picked up 2 electric blue acara because I wanted them for a long time and my store had them in stock and I noticed some things I had some questions about because they seem to be mostly in the mid water instead of on the botem like i thought and they already seem to show breeding behavior with them cleaning of a flat peace of decor after only 2 hours in the tank

Hi I am planning a 100x40x40cm 42 gal and I was wondering if this was enough to keep a albino Senegal bichir and a pair of keyhole cichlids? I am wondering this because from what I keep seeing is that some people say a 40gal breeder is enough for a albino since they stay smaller and some say they need somewhere near a 75 gal and it’s just confusing.
