So I just setup my first bioactive terrarium for my crested gecko and I have pretty much everything but the only thing I don’t have yet are isopods since my local store didn’t have any and couldn’t order any and i was looking online and came upon Dutchiopods and I saw porcellio laevis mix on there and I was wondering if those where good and what you would recommend.
So my crested gecko has had a hard time sticking to the glass today and under the light it looks like some patches look greyish and I was wondering if this could mean he is shedding? My main concern is that he can’t stick to the glass well so if it’s just because he is shedding and it wil go over soon it’s fine
So I can’t find any suitable topsoil so I went for Arcadia supercharged and I was wondering how much cocofiber I should add to it for the best mix for my crested gecko.
What are some good options for topsoil for crested geckos? I can’t find any that are suitable they either have fertilizer or other harmful stuff.
So with crested geckos should you give them a bath like you would do with bearded dragons or is it not a good idea? I am asking this because my crested gecko sometimes think he’s a leopard gecko and starts wandering over the ground and getting substrate on his belly
My bearded dragon tries to eat my fingers/hand when I try to handle him, what did you guys do to make them stop doing it? He is about 5-6 maybe 7 depending on how accurate the age estimate was that I was given and is probably male but I am not sure.
So I have a mold problem in my non bioactive tank, and I was wondering if I can add springtails and isopods to kinda control that, or do I need a full bioactive tank with real plants? Most of the mold I have seen so far is either the white fuzzy stuf, blue greenish mold, and a yellow dot like stuff (don’t know if it’s actual mold, and a big blow if white fuz with some blue greenish mold. I have a young crested gecko with fake plants and a cocofiber and cocochunks substrate with most of the mold being on the cocochunks and on the underside of some wood.
What are some tips for preventing and removing mold out of my geckos substrate? I have a crested gecko and I just noticed that there is mold forming on some of the substrate, I use a combination of cocofiber and bigger coconut chunks and on the chunks specifically it’s forming, and I though of maybe adding springtails but my tank isn’t bioactive so that probably wouldn’t work. Edit: there is also a big patch of white mold underneath a piece of of wood
I have a 18x18x24 inch tank and right now I am between a gold dust day gecko or a green anole (a pair or 1 male 2 female group if possible) and I was wondering if a shade dweller 7% is good enough for them, it’s probably the only one that can fit since the other options are a lot longer than the tank like the Arcadia t5 6% which is a bit longer than my tank, my biggest concern is that since they both like to bask in the sun the shadedweller isn’t strong enough, and that the light being ontop of a mesh like lid (it’s more a metal sheet with a bunch of holes in it the tank is a repto terra sky)
What can I do against mold forming on the wood in my geckos tank? It is on the inner part of a corkbark branch type wood, should I put it in the oven or should I just scrub it off?

I was thinking of a gold dust day gecko or a pair of green anole but I have no clue if I can actually keep them in there, and I am wondering if there are any other options, like snakes (but I am pretty sure there no snakes small enough for a footprint of 18x18inch)

So I want to take my beardie outside so he can enjoy the sun, but I don’t want him to roam free because of my dogs (this wil be placed on a elevated area where the dogs can reach the enclosure so they can’t see him) and the tiles becoming extremely hot so I found this outside enclosure marketed for turtles and I thought he might like it but I have no clue if it is the right size for him.
Can a red spotted golden severum work in a 4foot long 16inch deep and 20inch tall tank or is this more of a temporary grow out sized tank? It still says 50 inch in the titel but it’s 20 inch tall I forgot to change it from cm to inch, the exact tank is a juwel Rio 240
So there is a second heat wave in my country and my beardies tank is close to around 30C on the cool side and he has been spending most of his time in his cave, he does leave for feed if he notices it but otherwise he spends a lot of time in the cave, he does leave it at night sometimes to sleep on a branch.
So I ordered some crickets at my local store and normally I get size 8 for my bearded dragon so I thought size 3 would be around the 1cm mark size size 8 is around 2-2,5cm, but they turned out to be less than half a cm, so I am wondering is this to small and should I order new ones or just feed them?
