A quieter spot in the riverbed

Ventured to a quieter spot in the riverbed this time around since the area behind Martha McLean Anza-Narrows Park had more river-goers yesterday. Quite worth it, and there was literally no other person around. I personally think that the view of the MWD Upper Feeder is pretty badass. Not a whole lot else to say about this specific area of the Santa Ana River, really; otherwise, I had a nice time dipping my feet and legs in the lukewarm river water, of course.

'Twas yet another day in my favorite slice of paradise – you guessed it: the awesome Santa Ana River – yesterday.

I especially adore that view of the historic Salt Lake Bridge peeking through the natural alley of overgrown shrubbery, complete with the ever-so present warmth and glow of the afternoon summer sun and sounds of the freight train roaring through. Chef's kiss. β˜€οΈπŸŒ³πŸŒΏπŸ’§πŸš‚βœ¨πŸ’•

Returned to Riverside's river!

Chilled at the Santa Ana River once again. Despite being a cooler day yesterday, the warm river water honestly made up for it. Needless to say, this is definitely how I'll spend this whole California summer! β›…πŸŒ³πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄πŸ’§πŸš²βœ¨πŸ’•

Photo dump of chilling at Riverside's river

Oh, y'know, just chilling in Riverside's river after work this past warm Friday afternoon, having a total blast!

As a follow-up to my recent post regarding the Santa Ana River, I gladly return with a batch of photos (including several selfies and prop shots!) that I took while exploring and chilling out down there after getting off work Friday afternoon. These photos were taken in my personal favorite area of the riverbed, which is specifically just outside of Martha McLean-Anza Narrows Park in, of course, Riverside. So, here are the photos in all of their glory, and I hope y'all enjoy viewing through this grand adventure of mime. River ready! πŸ€™

The water was cold when I first dipped my feet, but after I submerged all but my head underwater, it did warm up a bit. It felt pretty nice – therapeutic, even – and the water in this section of the riverbed is surprisingly clear, and I observed several tadpoles. Both a freight train and a MetroLink train even raced by on the Salt Lake Railroad Bridge at two separate times. No, I did not leave a single piece of trash behind, and as a nature lover, I could never have it in me to carelessly do so. Ain't no way.

All in all, the other river-goers – myself included – had such a fun and chill time. Certainly an awesome way to spend and cool during the hot summer months around here, I'd say! In fact, I'd even go as far to say that it's better than The Cove Waterpark in neighboring Jurupa Valley (where I live). Of course, I especially love all of the overgrown vegetation and soft, sandy shores down there. I absolutely adore the Santa Ana River, and it's without a single ounce of doubt my favorite area in all of both Riverside and the Inland Empire. Santa Ana River, you truly are a regional gem, and I'm coming back for you again soon! Just you wait.

Have you personally played or cooled off in the Santa Ana River?

Seeing that we're now officially in summer, I thought I'd bring up an interesting topic (at least to me): the Santa Ana River itself. Have you cooled off or played down in the riverbed? Would you recommend it or do so again?

I'm also asking since I personally don't have a pool at my house, and also because I live a mile away from the Santa Ana River and that I usually tend to see more people playing in the river very near Martha McLean Anza-Narrows Park whenever I ride my e-bike along the river trail. So, for a while, I've thought about possibly going down there to chill out and cool off.

Yes, we all know that many unhoused folks tend to stay and take shelter down there. Simultaneously, however, I myself love all the overgrown vegetation and views of the riverbed from certain areas on the river trail, and so, the Santa Ana River is one of my personal favorite areas in both all of Riverside and the Inland Empire.

With all that said, to recap, would you recommend dipping your feet in the riverbed? Where along the Santa Ana River have you cooled off or played in? What other advice would you give if planning to venture down to the river itself?

Any advice and insights will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

What to do?

From Bloodcorn, S1E7; one of my favorite X:RA episodes so far.

I also very much love how the ending logos are affected and more distorted by the infinite blood continually pooling up. Fuck, yeah.

What specific electric models of mopeds would you recommend, if any?

For some context, while I do own a Sohoo S115 beach cruiser e-bike and a beefy Hiboy U2 Pro sit-down electric scooter and get around town just fine on both, I (180 pounds) think it would be nice to take my girlfriend (200 pounds) with me now and again. I did try and search around for a used electric moped on Facebook Marketplace and Offerup for my area (Inland Empire in Southern California), but alas, not very many results have come up, even one that's currently registered.

With that said now, what specific electric mopeds would you personally recommend? Any answers or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

For some context, while I do own a Sohoo S115 beach cruiser e-bike and a beefy Hiboy U2 Pro sit-down electric scooter and get around town just fine on both, I (180 pounds) think it would be nice to actually ride and keep up with traffic and take my girlfriend (200 pounds) with me now and again. I did try and search around for a used electric scooter on Facebook Marketplace and Offerup for my area (Inland Empire in Southern California), but alas, not very many results have come up, even one that's currently registered. I know off the top of my head that there's Vespa Electtrica, Zebra, Zoom, Pico, Aventura, and more...

With that said now, what specific electric scooters would you personally recommend? Any answers or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What electric mopeds or motor scooters would you recommend, if any?

So, per my last post here in this sub, I asked and discussed about mopeds and motor scooters. Since electric is, of course, the preferred way to go here, I would now like to ask and know about any electric models of mopeds and motor scooters that are out there.

For reference, while I do own a Sohoo S115 beach cruiser e-bike and a beefy Hiboy U2 Pro sit-down electric scooter and get around town just fine on both, I (180 pounds) think it would be nice to actually ride and keep up with traffic and take my girlfriend (200 pounds) with me now and again.
