How does orientation week work - first year

So before i register because im so confused. Does this take place the first week of school or the weel before. I read online you get a group if you sign up but like wouldnt we have diffrent class scedhules and stuff. Also the website says theres a bunch of diffrent events. Are those in groups or do you go with a friend or what. Im so lost because most of these dont intrest me like a night dinner. Dinner is already at night. Plus what a bunch of people sitting in the cafetria meeting each other and eating dinner? How is that any diffrent from eating dinner any other night in the caf. Are you with your group. Im so confused can someone summarize it for me because all the information i can find is "a week to socialize and meet new people". Yeah but like when bro. We all got diffrent scedhules. I also read its not like high school where you get put into a group. Is there a group. Just want to know if this is worth before i spend 150 bucks

Why do diamond players specifically smurf in silver/gold

I get the difference isn't as big as people say but it's still noticeable. Diamond players have a lot better mechanics and game sense than a silver / gold.

It's so annoying how these bums can't get into masters so they come and ruin our games. Almost every drive game has a DPS who's got no hero above level 10 and runs the lobby. Either that or a bap who's secretly a hard stuck mommy mercy dependant predscan.

I get it, I get bored, or doesn't matter, skill issue blah blah blah. Us silver / gold players want rewards too. You don't have to make every game insufferable. I've gotten these "smurfs" on my team or not on my team. Usually the latter but it's wtv ig. If you go to the lfg on overwatch discord nobody who requests a gold group is actually gold there all a bunch of diamond smurfs.

I swear these losers get a kick out of beating people slightly worse than them because their toxic rank makes it unbearable for them to play more than 3 games.

Get out of my games I just want my shiny weapons bro

When do you NOT take off angles as a dps

Every advice I get as a play dps is to take more off angles. Yeah I understand that off angles are very important and even in this Elo I still feel it's benefit rather than shooting down main wether I win or lose. That being said it's hard to understand when not to take them.

The main problem I feel is how to move with your team. When shooting down main yes your options to contribute are limited however you'll have no problem moving with the team.

When off angling all the time it's hard to keep track of where everyone is. Like I've gotten vod reviews and the main thing I've been told is to take more off angles. Can someone help me understand this concept by doing it all the time. You have to adapt all the time in overwatch and I feel like it's difficult to maintain LOS with my supports while constantly keeping an off angle and keeping track of when my team moves.

Yes I understand this skill is needed to rank up but nobody ever talks about this. So many times I don't know when to leave the off angle, most of the time solo Qing the team moves whoever the tank moves. How can I rely on properly aiming and keeping track of the enemy when I'm constantly worried about my team leaving me.

Idk Id just like some insight on some situations on how to properly off angle. It just feels harder than taking a side angle. Again as you move throughout maps you can't constantly find the perfect spot.

I play tracer and soj if that helps

How do you guys re position your camera

I thought I'd be better at this because I'm a tracer main, very used to 180 flicks and re arranging my camera however I cannot do it with genji.

With genji I dash in, do a 180 and then I'm stood there like a fool looking around for my enemies.

Also genji sens is super weird I have to put it higher, I play 800 dpi and 7 for tracer and 800 dpi and 8.5 for genji. Its weird because for tracer it doesn't matter as much since you can melee before the bink but genji u gotta do the whole thing

Also for genji one shot combo do you guys hold right click while dashing for the instant shot or wait a second. Usually after I dash and if I'm holding I'll just kiss because it fires too fast for me to reposition my camera however if I wait a split second I have time to aim and hit them. However should I be doing the former because that's how you practice or is holding just a stupid inconsistent mech

Lmk pls

Why does everyone think wherever they come from is they come from is the certainty

I mean I understand why, growing up in religion even if I may disagree with it there's always that little voice in my head saying "what if", that little fire that no matter how much I may hate it or how much it's affected me Id still defend it.

Obviously heritage and culture is important. While not so religious now there are multiple traditions and cultural aspects I love about myself and my identity that came from religion.

I just find it odd how we had humans think that whatever WE came from is the truth. Like you can look at your own community and think this is the truth because it's YOUR people and then you'll look at other religions communities and say they aren't with the truth.

Everyone believes this but nobody seems to think what if another one is right and mien is wrong, I mean let's take an example of a religion or denomination that might have 10 million followers. You being born into that will make you think that these 10 million will be saved and the other billions around the world will not. Now we take into consideration that there are thousands of these groups who think only they are right, some with a couple thousand members, some with millions and some with over a billion.

What about growing up in a religion makes it feel so special we can't understand that other feel that way as well. Heck even I'm guilty of it sometimes. People are born into a racist family that doesn't mean they can't change that about them. Their entire family tree could come from stone cold racists and slave owners but being born in this day and age they could quickly learn from school or social media that it's actually wrong.

I just wanted to share my thoughts, not an attempt at saying why do people think THEIR history is the only great one but just as an interesting take that the majority of the world does think this way.

Let me know any philosophical or religious examples you have on this topic cause it's something id love to discuss with you all. Especially all the denominations of the big religions.

ELI5 How are genetic mutations "random"

Does it all come down to specific atoms connecting to other ones and a bunch of them together connecting with the "wrong" one which at a generic level causes what we consider a mutation?

I know nothing about biology except that of grade 10 biology but I know it has something to do with proteins in a chromosome, is how those proteins arrange what causes a mutation and at an atomic level is it literally just electrons connecting with the wrong stuff which we would consider unlucky at a biological leve

What value does genji have as a flex dps

I've recently got into genji because he's really fun to play however I'm feeling very conflicted. Yeah I'm still buns with him but I have my games and while I can get value on him I don't get what could set him apart.

This isn't a whiny buff him post but my other mains are tracer and soj. Yes I'm considerably better on both of them than on genji but I fail to understand what genji has over or even equal to them.

I can get picks and force cooldowns way more reliably on tra and soj and genji feels a lot more mechanically demanding for less value.

Maybe I'm playing him wrong kind of play him like tracer. Start with team, use movement to find off angle and find a isolated target to either pick off or force a cooldown then go back to team.

Tracer just feels so much better with survivability than genji and has way less counters.

Thoughts?

How do you break a Hawley retainer

Haven't worn my retainer in months since I got my braces off and the Hawley one hurts when I snap it in place, I put the plastic one on it fit nicely actually however when I woke up in the morning it felt like my teeth were gonna fall off took ten minutes for the pain to go away

How can I break my Hawley retainer in a convincing way so that I don't have to tell my dad I neglected it

Don't give me the irresponsible lecture I know already

Gold 2 Sojourn Vod Review Request - V1NBF6

Code: V1NBF6

Rank: Gold 2 / PC-NA

Heroes Played: Sojourn 11 mins / Bastion - 2mins (need soj)

BT: c3rul3dg3#1895

Map: Paraiso

I dont understand how the team just fell apart, what positions could I have taken to better apply pressure. I felt like I did better than their teams dps until the end where it all fell apart. We had so much more healing than them and I couldnt find positions to get picks. I dont get these games where we do so well and all of a sudden they ust get better than us. Need critical criticism. Thanks

Why are west ham so obsessed with us

Not a local fan so I don't really understand the true passion in rivalries. The only team I really feel hate for is arsenal. Even Chelsea tbh I just don't care about them.

I understand currently we're more on the level of west ham than arsenal but even arsenal fans see us as their main rivals.

I was reading through a post in the west ham sub today and I was seeing so much annoyance towards spurs. As if we are their biggest rivals.

Sure we suck and yeah it's still a derby but who's gonna tell them we genuinely don't care about them. When I think of derbies, west ham just doesn't come to mind.

Like I genuinely don't ever think about them and no spurs fan I've ever talked to has mentioned them. Why do they care so much about us?

Do you think winning this game could have Impacted the decision to sack Ange?

This isn't a pro or anti Ange post, I'm not asking if we'd be better off with or without him right now but simply a what if. If we had won the Brighton game.

Do you think the decision was made solely because of our poor league and do you think the Injury crisis was an Included factor in the decision.

I also wonder if that Brighton game really was the banker was the fact that the players were still hungover and we were mathematically safe from relegation considered as to why we lost. (I mean you'd expect a winning effort regardless).

Just curious on your guys thoughts

VOD Review Request: Tracer, Gold 3, AATLIS

This game felt like i did some things right and some things really wrong. I couldnt find the reaper or the cass anywhere they kept sneaking up on me and I kept losing the 1v1s. I I need help learning how to engage, and kill supports. The mercy/juno duo was really hard for me to do anything. Mercy felt so hard for me to kill and her rezes hard to stop. Looking for that harsh criticism and vod review if possible please and thank you

I hate these tip options on debit machines

I don't know how these started but I've only started seeing them in the past two years. I absolutely hate the tip options on debit machines.

There are two options and both are bad:

It's really the fast food places that piss me off. You don't need a tip for taking my order at a counter. I hate how pressured it is as well. Your making a payment and feel like a dickhead for pressing no tip while the guy taking your order stares you down from behind the counter. But why should I Half the time the person taking my order isn't even the one making my food. I'm not buying your 5.99 burger deal because Kyle age 16 makes the best burgers in town. I'm buying it because it's a 5.99 deal, I'm hungry and am in a rush and can't cook. As much success as I wish both Kyle and the person taking my order you are getting paid for doing that. I could press the order myself, if you want I can yell the order to Kyle from the counter. I just want cheap food fast.
