Four Types of Country Americans

Please read the small paragraph at the very bottom before commenting. Also this is a positive rant, I’m not actually upset about anything lol just thought some people might think it’s interesting. Also, I feel I can make this analysis as someone who grew up in this culture, but somethings might be off.

I don’t know if anyone is actually interested in this, but I think people don’t realize how there are four different types of country people.(there’s probably more, but this is my take.) You got your rednecks, hillbillies, farmers/cowboys, and your “just the accent, food, & music people.” And don’t be dismayed if you or your local country boy doesn’t quite fit, there are mashes and misfits. I’ll be touching on some stereotypes, but I can do that as someone who fits into one of these categories.(no I’m not saying which one, that’s my business, but it’s not the last one.) Hi everyone, I’m Ally, and class is in session.

  1. Rednecks. These are the people who have their Christmas lights up all year long. Usually a bit more unhinged, you might find them walking around with holes in their boots, and trust me they don’t care what you think about that. The ladies may sometimes have a spray tan a shade too dark, but they love Dollar General. Despite the what you may think, they are a great time usually, and fun to be around. They are not ashamed of this lifestyle, they marry young, have lots of kids that are all over the place, and love all of them.

(usually.) They are abundant in small towns.

  1. Hillbillies. These are the ones that are sometimes from the Appalachians, but not always. Front porch swingers, they love their rocking chairs, and their elders. Dont be surprised if an old eighty year old granny you’re distantly related to, heard you’re pregnant and made your baby a homemade crocheted blanket, complete with the babies name embroidered on. Sweet tea is a staple, and you best believe you’re getting some kind of cornbread, sausage, and potato concoction for dinner at their house. These people are often superstitious, but honestly maybe you should listen, because you really don’t know what they’ve seen in those woods.(I’m really not kidding.)

3.Farmers/cowboys. Kind of self explanatory, grew up taking care of animals, they often grew up with several acres of land to play on. They love this land and you couldn’t rip them away if you tried. They grew up with the wildlife, and will look at you funny if you say you’ve never seen a herd of deer.(actually probably all of them would.) Stereotypically, these are the kind you’ll see wearing button shirts everywhere, but that’s kind of dying out unfortunately. They’re tough, and probably have a high pain tolerance. There’s not much to say, they’re good people.

  1. Just the accent, food, & music people. These people have stickers all over the back of their car. Something about “Lake Life.” These people go out to eat a lot. They didn’t really grow up like the others, just in the area. They love hanging out in parking lots, and blasting rap country.

What do they all have in common? They all love their country and their people. Also let’s not bash anyone in my comments, this is for learning and entertainment purposes only, we are not immature ignorant children who bash people we do not understand. Class dismissed.

I Miss When Disney Wasn’t Afraid

Disney no longer has villains, and darker themes. Like Hunchback would never fly these days, remember how the Queen in Snow White literally asked for her heart in a box? Now they just have villains who just need a slap on the hand, like in Encanto. I’m sorry, I just really don’t like it. (also side note, I’m SO TIRED of 3D animation. Like SO TIRED.) Can I be frank? This isn’t to put down any parents, but I have a cousin who we weren’t even really allowed to say something died, or was killed around her, like if an animal. I am NOT one to talk bad about younger generations, I’m Genz, I’m not here for that, and I don’t like the generalizations, it’s just annoying when children are kind growing up under a rock like that. Imagine if they came out with Scooby Doo today? Kids shows are so…fake and I don’t know how to describe it. Anyone know that movie Pleasantville where these siblings get sucked into this ‘50s show, and everything is perfect, and it’s almost creepy? I know people are just trying to protect kids, but do kids at least not deserve movies they can actually be nostalgic about later?

I Want A Specific Type of Nostalgia Recs

Okay so, I’ve been not doing so well lately, and for some reason that makes me lose my appetite for music, and I’ve kind of forgotten what I like, so I need people to help me remember certain songs. I also switched my phone, and it’s hard to get to my old playlists, but when I do, I might update this. (oh, and btw please don’t recommend me ACDC, I just personally don’t care for it.)

Here are some songs I like, and it’s kind of a mixture of genres and decades:

I like certain Lynyrd Skynyrd songs, like Free Bird, and Sweet Home Alabama.

Pretty much any Billy Joel song.

Nostalgic songs like American Pie, Sweet Carolina, and Brandy

I like songs like Rosemary, I Think I Love You, She’s A Rainbow, Close to You(I think that last title is correct, but it’s been a while.)

I grew up in the south, so I’m a big country fan, George Strait, Garth Brooks, and even newer ones like The Dixie Chicks and Carrie Underwood. Maybe don’t recommend any country that came out past like 2010 though. But I’ll probably have heard of if it came out between like ‘80-‘10. God bless the USA.

I’m A Believer, is really good.

I like some Beetles too, but I kind of grew out of that phase somewhat.

And by the way, just in case you’re curious, I’m eighteen. Yes, yes I know, not all the people in younger generations have bad taste. Except I don’t like that kind of talk, I’m tired of it. Nothing can make me hate my generation, so if you try to open that can of worms, you’ll just sound like a silly old geezer, and I’ll give you the virtual bonk of shame and embarrassment. Okay? Okay.😆

What Disney Movies Have the Best Soundtracks?

(Pixar counts too) What Disney Movies Have the Best Soundtracks? My favorites would probably be Tarzan, Lion King, and Toy Story, but which ones would you argue are the all time best?

Off topic, this isn’t Disney or Pixar BUT Shrek’s soundtrack is amazing. Absolute comfort movie, they don’t make em like they used to.

I Just Love Golden Brown

Edit: thank you for all the recs, but I’m looking for the fantasy feeling. I’m not a Stranglers fan in general, just that song, because it feels like a fantasy dream, so please keep that in mind when giving me recs.

I need recommendations for music like it. As much as I love some of the songs people put in Golden Brown playlist, non have the same mood, none have the same I don’t even know what to call it. I love the overlapped voices and the echoey sound. I don’t know if anyone could make another song like it. I don’t have much to say, besides I just can’t get tired of it. I NEED More artists to write songs like Golden Brown by the Stranglers. My favorite is the slowed version, and I love the harpsichord. I’ve never heard anything quite like that song. If you’re a musician, please I’m begging you!! (Also the yearning feeling is important.) (Yes I know the supposed hidden meaning, we need not talk about it.)

Please Draw My Character❤️

‼️I TRACED SOMEONE ELSE’S ART TO MAKE THIS‼️ I don’t deserve all the credit, I’m a beginner and I traced a reference pose, and the wings aren’t mine at all. Both the reference, and the wings I took from someone’s drawing will be the last two photos. However I did draw the hair, dress, and everything besides the two things I mentioned. The reason I did this, is because I am very much a beginner at digital art, and I needed something to look at as soon as possible while writing my story.

Anyways, this is my character. I’m not telling her name, I fully intend to gatekeep it.😆 I would absolutely appreciate so much for someone to draw her. She has the wings of a barn owl, very specifically. She has golden eyes, similar to the photo shown, the photo of the girl is who I’m basing her off of. She has freckles like shown in the drawing I drew. The necklace is very important to their culture, and she has pointy ears of course.

How to Get Indoor Cat Back In?

I have a cat that escaped over a week ago, and I’ve seen him outside, but I just can’t catch him. Usually I don’t know where he is though, I don’t know exactly where he is staying, possible the garage, but he must be hiding well. We have a lot of property, and unfortunately there’s a lot of feral cats outside and he is too scared to come close the door because that’s where they are. I can’t get close to him, despite him being obsessed with me normally. I greatly miss him, and I really want him back. Any tips?

Name Suggestions?

So I have a question, I have this knight/bodyguard character, I’ll tell you his appearance and character traits, but I’m still working all the details. He has dark brown wavy/curly hair, olive green eyes, dark blue wings, a birth stone necklace that is amber colored. (I’ll probably make it some fantasy stone, but it’s amber colored, and yes this is an important detail, it is big in their culture.) He is a royal guard whose main job is basically to follow around the princess, he’s sworn to protect her.

He is reserved(until he warms up.) charming, funny, loyal and dedicated to the cause, chivalrous, he’s a knight. At first he’s a man of few words. He’s a realist, logical. I need some character flaws for him, because I don’t want him to end up being the male version of a Mary Sue, whatever that is.

Anyways, I named him Sir Elodias, but that seemed too dramatic and on the nose, I thought, maybe I could call him Eli, which I like, but having his real name as Elodias doesn’t seem fitting. Any suggestions? I like made up names that you wouldn’t find in our world. I have researched different ones of course, but none seemed “right.” I’m thinking I might still want Eli, but maybe that’s the shortened form.

Is There A Tool for Smoothing Lines?

I used to use the Sketchbook app there was a line smoother basically, does Ibis Paint have an equivalent? Like you’d do a line and it would correct it, and you could adjust how much it corrected.

Seeking Info On Different Topics

Yes I know, I could just research, and trust me I am, but sometimes there are people who know specific things that I can’t find by looking things up, and there are abundances of people who love over sharing all the knowledge they know about said topics, and just need an outlet for it. Please don’t tell me to “do my own research,” because I am. You don’t have to tell me anything, so if my request annoys you for some reason, just scroll. Feel free to explain these topics to me like I’m five. So anyways, here are some topics I’d love to hear whatever you want to tell me about:

  1. Knighthood/armor/horsemanship relating to knights.
  2. What it would realistically be like for humans to have functional wings/how it would affect society&fashion
  3. Barn owls, literally just barn owls.
  4. How castles used to be run. (in whatever time period you feel like talking about.)
  5. What it would be like to have giant cats as mounts (but not house cats, maybe cougars or bobcats? Like fantasy dire wolves, but in cats, maybe as tall as Asian elephants.)
  6. Honestly anything you want to tell me about geographical terms, specifically related to mountains, in cold areas.
  7. Anything to do with swordsmanship, archery or even hand to hand combat or any kind.
  8. How did people used to treat animal skins being turned into clothes, before all the fancy chemicals.
  9. What is it like to die of hypothermia?

I might add more, but these are the questions have right now. Please don’t worry about boring me with the details, I’ll truly be grateful for the tiniest things. Also please don’t just ask some AI, I could do that myself, but I’m anti-AI, I can’t stop you, but I’d really appreciate no comments written by AI, or even ones where the information was taken from AI, even if you rewrite it. Please also inform me of any myths around these topics, or things you see in writing or movies that the authors get wrong a lot. I value realism, and immersion. I’ll also take any information you think I might want, even if it’s not necessarily listed!❤️

(For some reason the auto mod wants me to include “I have tried.”)

Any Ideas?

I’m still fleshing out the plot. So my story is set in an area mostly dominated by winged folk (still working out species name, I have tried different ideas, so feel free to suggest one.) The protagonist is a princess, probably 18-23. She’s kind, selfless, and loves people. In this species, everyone’s wings resemble different types of birds. Her’s resemble barn owls. I need a reason for her to escape the castle, but it can’t be because of an evil parent, because I’m making a point to not give her parental trauma, both her parents are alive, healthy, and still in love. Her castle is in the mountains, and it’s super cold currently, very snowy, but I want wherever she’s going to be autumnal. Also please no magic related stuff, in this world, there’s different species, and crazy things like I might include floating islands or something, but I don’t want a magic centered plot, I don’t think. Also I think this goes without saying, but if you give me an idea, or write anything in the comments, it might be used. I’m specifically looking for reasons for her to leave the castle.

Bites Used As A Controlling Technique.

I know a lot of people say biting in cats is overstimulation usually, and before you write a paragraph on how I’m stressing my cat out, let me tell you, that’s just not the case.

I love my cat so much, he’s probably around nine, and has been doing this for many, many years. He is very demanding, and insists on petting, and when I’m not petting him, he gets irritated and sometimes bites. Not skin piercing, but still painful. He is such a sweet boy, but I know he’s doing this is get me to pay attention to him, and it’s really annoying. He will also specifically poke me with his claw, not like kneading, like a poke, to get my attention. Sometimes he tons this multiple times throughout the day. Is there anything I can do to teach him not to do these habits? I promise I do love on him a lot, it’s not like he’s just starving of attention. I love this cat.

What’s With the Self Liking?

When I make a comment or post, it automatically makes me like it, and I have to unlike it. Why does it do that? It’s weird to me to like your own comment or post.

Requesting Art For OCs

Disclaimer: THE PHOTOS SHOWN WERE FOUND ON PINTEREST. NOT MINE. They are just examples of styles I enjoy. I am honestly looking for artists more on the realistic side, (if you call these somewhat realistic idk.) not so much anime/manga, they just personally aren’t really my style.

I’m working on a writing project, and it would be greatly helpful and appreciated if I had a drawing of my OCs to look at while writing. My OCs ARE NOT the people in the drawings shown. I have two OCs in mind, both are a type of winged folk, (still working out the name for the species.) and I am at the very beginning stages of this project. One is a male and the other is a female! Let me know if you are interested, and we can talk one on one!❤️
