I thought I read that brachytherapy caused fatigue?

Because so far I’m having the opposite. I tried to go to bed early because I was tired from the whole ordeal, mostly from stress and traffic problems. I couldn’t get to sleep and when I finally did, I woke up every half hour to hour all night long! I’d roll over and look at the clock exotic to be hours later and it was only a half hour or hour later. Seems like it caused insomnia instead. Anyone else?

Drink 64 ounces of water?

That’s what it says online about how much to drink. If I drank that much is never leave the bathroom. My oncologist, techs and nurse said nothing about drinking more water and I forgot to ask. I did remember to ask about the cranberry pills and he said only if I notice irritation burning. But nothing about water and I just went back through the huge list in MyChart about everything having to do with this and it only says to drink 8 one cup glasses of water if I get diarrhea. I wonder why they didn’t mention it.

Had my first Brachytherapy treatment today

Nothing like what I thought and we were out of there before the time of the second one. We got there over a half hour early so they took me early. They did everything in the room they did the cat scan in. Did a quick scan, then put the rod in and did a quick scan, took it out. Had to go sit in the waiting room. She said said go wait in the waiting room for 45 minutes but it was more like a half hour. Took me back and put the rod in again and did another quick scan to make sure it was placed right. Then a lady came in and ran a divice over me real quick to make sure I wasn’t already radioactive. Then she hooked a tiny wire to the rod and left for 3 minutes. Came back in and ran the divide to make sure I wasn’t radio active. Doctor came back in and took the rod out and I was done. Easy peasy. The next 3 appointments will only take a few minutes. Got there fine until we got a little lost trying to find their private free parking lot. But on the way home, OMG it took forever because of the detour for a main road’s construction. Sat in traffic forever not moving. It was awful. It took way longer to get home than the whole procedure.

Why do people say this?

Why in the world do people tell cancer patients about someone they know who died or is dying from it? Why? Was on my way to brachytherapy and said to the maintenance man that I was in my way to radiation after he asked how I was doing. Then proceeding to tell me about his young cousin who has cancer and isn’t doing well and probably won’t make it through the year. As I’m heading for treatment! Good grief just say you’re happy I’m feeling better.

First brachytherapy appointment

I have the first of 4 appointments over the next two weeks for brachytherapy. I’m really nervous especially about the first one. I know they said I’d be there for 2 hours, but the MyChart app said it was only 60 minutes. Then suddenly it shows a second appointment for the same day and hour later that wants me to do an e-check in for both. I sent them a message about why there is 2 appointments at different times for the same day, thinking they changed the appointment time or it was a mistake, but haven’t heard back yet. Could it be 2 different appointments in the same day? They never mentioned it when we discussed what was coming up.

Were you told to take cranberry pills for brachytherapy?

The radiologist told me to take 2 cranberry pills during my brachytherapy. But I can’t remember if he said to take the, before or once I start treatment. I can call but I have to go through like 5 menus then get their voicemail and then wait for them to call me back. I’m pretty sure I don’t start until I start the therapy, has anyone else been told to take them and when to start and stop?

New iPad can’t find old iPad to set up

I put the new iPad next to the old one but it just keeps searching for it. I accidentally got too close with my iPhone and it tried to connect to that. The problem is both iPads are my husbands so I don’t want it synced to my phone. He doesn’t take an iPhone to try. I don’t want to set it up without the old one or he’ll be bad that he loses all his apps and progress on his games. Why won’t it work? It’s obviously not the new iPad since it found my phone so there’s a problem with it finding his old iPad. What can I do? The new one is an a16 the old one is an iPad Air 3rd generation. Is it too old to do it?

It’s 3:30PM and it says my package is arriving today. I’m not holding my breath, it just now shipped. There is no way it’s coming today. Rather ticked because I made sure everything I bought would arrive today.

Packaged delivered photo

They never follow my instructions to bring my package to my apartment door. They usually leave it in the mailroom but sometimes in other places in the building. Thankfully I’m home all day so as soon as the delivered notification pops up I can rush down to get it. Well today was interesting, instead of a picture of the mailroom or the lobby, I get this picture. I assume it’s the ceiling and he had the camera facing the wrong way for not one delivery, but for 2 separate orders. Bad thing is every ceiling in every floor of our 8 story building looks exactly the same so it could have been left anywhere. I did eventually find it but good grief.

This morning every gas station around us in the suburbs of Pittsburgh were $4.69 except for GetGo who was $4.99 now at 6pm 7-11, Speedway and some Sunoco stations are now at $4.99 by tomorrow imagine the rest will too. We were on 3/4 of a tank and went to fill it up the rest of the way before it goes up. We got gas like 2 weeks ago and it was $4.15 and now it’s $4.99 at many stations. This is crazy! Thankfully we have a small car. I feel bad for people with bigger cars and trucks.

My husband has an iPad Air 3rd generation, lately it’s not charging. I think it’s because he messed upon the port by playing on it while it’s plugged in and pushing on the plug by accident. Thought at first it was his cord but he’s hit 3 new ones that are not Apple cords that were working fine but now all 3 are doing the same thing. It’ll start charging then stop then start again repeatedly. Thought it was the charger though I doubted it. So I plugged it into my certified Apple charger and cord that I use to charge my iPhone with no problems and again his iPad charging us stopping and starting again. I restarted the iPad and cleaned the port out with a toothpick, but even with the certified Apple charger and cord it’s still doing this. It’s no longer under warranty, bought it refurbished and it works great, until now. I know on his old iPad from jiggling the plug so much, a piece of the port actually fell out. That one still charged though until it finally died. Any suggestions on what to try now? For now I got it to charge and I’m just not touching or moving it so the plug doesn’t disconnect again. I really can’t afford to replace the iPad right now but I’m guessing that’s coming.

I was invited to a wedding in July. I haven’t been scheduled for my brachytherapy yet which will be 2 sessions for 2 weeks. I had a radical hysterectomy on March 12 which was supposed to be laproscopic robotic which he started and couldn’t get everything out because the uterus was too big and stuck to the bladder. Oncologist said it was a rough surgery. He said I’d pronounce the brachytherapy 2 months after the surgery but then said nothing in the vagina for 12 weeks. So I wondered about if they could do the brachytherapy before that time frame. Anyway being I’m not sure yet when the treatments will start, will I feel well enough to go to a big wedding in July? Especially if they want to wait until the 12 weeks pass, then the brachytherapy won’t be this month, but in June. They told me at my consult it’s fine to be around people during the treatments, as in the radiation won’t be a problem but I did read you should avoid babies and pregnant women, but they said it’s safe to be around people so I’m not concerned about my being around people at the wedding as much as others being around me and the germs though I’m assuming I’ll be fine by then. My question is how will I feel? I know the side effects like pain and burning down there and loose stools and fatigue. But I’ve seen some say the fatigue after they finished with the treatment lasted a month. Would you go to a big wedding at this point? I am wearing a mask since my diagnosis so I dint catch anything and have to postpone the treatment. But done want to wear it at the wedding because of eating. I guess if I’m fine with my treatments I dint have to worry about getting sick but is it a good idea to be in a room with that many people a few months after surgery and right after brachytherapy? Would you go and chance it and after yours did you feel up to a 45 minute or longer drive and an a wedding that will last from late afternoon until late in the evening? I know I can leave early after we eat if I’m not feeling up to it. But I’m worried about being around so many people and if I’ll still be sore and whatever.

I remember my mom complaining about this too when I was young. This is from a plus size store. I’ve seen a few dresses on there that might pass for cocktail attire, but with how thin the models are, how am I supposed to know why it would look like in a shirt plus sized women like me?

I’m 67 and heavy. And the old lady saggy baggy boons have taken over. I’ve always worn Playtex 18 hour bras, but the past years I’ve noticed they don’t hold me up quite as well and I have creases in them which shows through my clothes. Any suggestions? I hate trying bras on in the stores because the stores are always so hot I sweat. But it’s hard to know what to buy online. I’ve seen a lot of talk about the Jelly bras, anyone try them? I’ve also seen thousands of online ads for the bras they claim are all designed by a 60 year old grandma, yeah right, but then the show a young woman with perky boobs jumping up and down to show you how well they work. To heck with that, show me an older lady with old lady boobs jumping if they want to convince me. The ones they show wouldn’t bounce if they had no bra on, lol. Any suggestions? I miss my younger body.

Last year they sent us the MyFlex card for OTC products. We could shop in their site where everything costs 2-3 times more than in store. Or we could shop with the card at Giant Eagle, Walmart or Walgreens. It covered so much more and since I saved money by not shopping on their website the
Money went way further. This year they change it and you can only buy on their website which is now 3 times higher than I store. So I’ve been buying the stuff on their website since it’s basically free. The problem is that the vitamins and supplements are fine. As are the OTC pain creams, itch cream and other stuff. BUT anything else is crap. I ordered a wrist strap that looked exactly like the one I bought on Amazon in the picture, got it and it’s nothing like the picture and is just awful to wear. I’ve run into so many things that are crap compared to what I could get in the stores like we could do last year. And there’s no way to leave a review warn others that you won’t get what’s in the picture. Or the quality is lousy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful that I can get my OTC pain meds, vitamins and supplements for free but disappointed that other things I need just aren’t what they advertised.

I recently changed my PCP, but after seeing the new one I decided I do not like him at all and want to list my old PCP as my primary care. I was able to switch the first time on MyChart, but now I can’t figure out how to switch back to my previous one. Anyone know how to do it or do I have to wait until the next time I make an appointment.

I just recently found this show and am enjoying it. But why is it that all of season 1 episodes are fine but season 2 episode 2 is so small it doesn’t fit the screen?
