Marty arrived at BARC with another dog named **Sahara**. They faced the shelter together.
On **July 31**, Sahara was euthanized.
Now Marty is alone.
Despite losing the only familiar face he had, Marty has remained the gentle, quiet soul everyone hopes to find.

✨ Enjoys peaceful walks and sniffing around the yard

He isn’t demanding. He isn’t wild. Marty is happiest just quietly walking beside someone and enjoying a little kindness.
At intake, staff also noted that Marty had **been struck by a tranquilizer dart near his left hip** before arriving at the shelter. Even after everything he’s endured, he continues to trust the people around him.
Marty is healthy aside from **low-positive heartworms**, which are **treatable**. He is vaccinated, dewormed, and ready for a second chance.
