Since I had my kid three years ago, I've pretty much done exclusively wfh. I left biglaw and joined a boutique as a counsel where life is just so stupidly flexible while I get paid really well (not as well as a seventh year at a V10 when I left but still pretty well)

Anyway, most my hearings post covid are virtual. So for hearings and mediation and whatever else, I tend to wear a button up or blouse with a jacket over top. For client meetings I generally just do a button up and a cardigan or a sweater or sometimes a nice dress (for anyone who wants business casual dresses, Boden is my favorite).

You should've seen my face when I realized one of my hearings was going to be in person.

I realized I would have to take off shorts and put on pants or a skirt. I realized at that moment that I'm not even sure I have a pair of pants that fit me three years post partum.

I would've worn one of my many sheath dresses in a pinch, but like goddamn, how have I, as a lawyer, not worn a pair of pants in three years?

Anyway, I got plaintiff's counsel to nonsuit so I get to... Well... Nonsuit as well. So crisis averted. But maybe I'll go out and buy a suit... With a bottom.

Hi everyone,

I am a mom looking for a "lugging shit around" bag that is cute and comfortable.

Ideally, I need something that I can stick a soccer ball, a spare uniform, a small cooler bag for a snack, and a water bottle or two. So I want it to open completely because I am very sick of someone reaching in there to grab the ball and then other stuff spills. I want to be able to pay it flat on the grass next to my camping chair and say "here's the ball pump."

But I want it to be cute (ie, not black or camo), and I want it to be comfortable.

Any advice for large capacity main compartment that opens. The soccer ball is a must.

Hobonichi is ruining my life with these Japan-only releases, and I need to vent. So I'm excited for new hobos the way I am every year, right? And it starts off so strong. First, they show me the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life: PENGUINS. Tiny tuxedos. Dapper little birds. Cute af. Perfect. I love them. I want them. And... They're only available at a train station in Japan???

I'm livid, but fine. I get it. They need to come out strong for the new store. I can live. It's just the beginning of the reveals. Surely something equally cute will come our way in the US.

So I wait and go through the releases, looking for the same rush of dopamine I got when I saw the little pingus. But instead of that... We get weird neon. Snakeskin see-through pouches. A color-blocked "Natal" design like I want something that could be military issues. And Not Elmo. (No offense to Not Elmo, he's actually kind of cute, but it's not my jam.)

Time goes on, and I get excited again though. I spot this adorable little green frog. He's just sitting there like hey wanna be friends?

At this point, I feel depressed the way I only can when I'm too emotionally invested in stationery (but tbf, this planner will be my work planner so I want something to counteract the sometimes dull or stressful nature of being a lawyer).

But there's still the last reveal day. Surely they're saving something incredible. Something adorable. Something RIGHT FOR ME.

And then...
