I was at Dromgoole’s today (a lovely pen shop here in Houston) and overheard some folks talking about the Hobonichi Frederick cover. They thought the mouse was cute, but had no idea that Frederick is actually the titular character from a children’s book by Leo Lionni!

For anyone else who isn’t familiar with it: Frederick is about a family of field mice preparing for winter. While all the other mice are busy gathering food, Frederick seems to be doing nothing. But he explains that he’s gathering sun rays, colors, and words for the cold, dark days ahead. Then winter comes, and at first they feast, but then their food starts running low. Saving the day, Frederick uses everything he “collected” to tell stories and poems that bring warmth and happiness back to the group.

It’s such a sweet little story about the importance of imagination, storytelling, art, and maintaining a positive outlook during hard times.

That’s honestly why I’m so excited to get this cover. It’s not just a cute little mouse. Frederick feels like a tiny reminder to hold onto some light for the dark days.

He says Pebbles is "too OP," but Pepik is "too slow."

0.5mg daily dutasteride and 1.25 mg daily minoxidil for AGA (and PCOS). Derm took some scalp photos, and they don't lie either. I've had new growth.

I've always had fine and thin hair so I was never expecting a thick head of hair because I never had that to begin with, but I feel like the bald spots that started popping up in the last five years or so have greatly reduced so I'm happy even if it doesn't get any better than this!

Hi everyone, earlier this year, I asked if anyone had any ideas for wall mounting my recumbent trike, and none of the solutions seemed exactly right. Until recently, when u/FitzHappens5150 said to use the rubbermade fastracks and two bike hooks, and that's exactly what we did!

We actually did it to the side of our house next to our pool equipment, and it's perfect! We're also going to add some hooks onto the roofing and put a retractable tarp over it so it's shielded from the elements as well.

Love the solution! Feels very sturdy, and it fits my trike, my husband's bike, our son's balance bike, and our son's trailer!

Every morning, sunscreen. But not the buy it by the bucket sunscreen because my face would break out. But the dainty sunscreen that costs as much as a drink as a nice bar.

Going for a walk in short sleeves? Sunscreen the arms. Going for a car ride? Sunscreen because I'll get burned on the side the sun is shining on.

Want to be health conscious and take a walk after lunch? Sunscreen. But didn't I put on sunscreen earlier? Yes, but it's been two hours, so more sunscreen.

Want to go to the park with my son? More sunscreen. For me. And then I gotta put it on him.

Pool time? Sunscreen. Farmer's market? Sunscreen.

And then because it's a hundred degrees outside, it drips into your eyes. Now you're crying. And guess what then? Your tears just washed away your sunscreen. You better reapply. That drips into your eyes and stings, too. And oops, too much time has passed since you last reapplied so you better reapply some more

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen.

I'm tired of BigSunTM controlling my life. Install a UV blocking shield and give me vitamin D pills to take instead.
