Is there anywhere else to get the Magnat Signature series in the U.S.?

Even the monitor stuff is sparse. Adorama has one or two but most items are out of stock or older.

For those with a surround system, do all your speakers match?

Trying to decide on a new surround system but wondering if I can have different surrounds than the front. Having a hard time finding a brand that has a complete system I like since I don’t want rear bookshelf’s (looking at some wall ones instead).

RSL Trying to Decide Between SVS and RSL Subs for a Mixed-Use Living Room Theater/Music Setup

I’m upgrading my system and keep going back and forth between SVS and RSL for subs. I’ve read a ton already, but I’m hoping for some opinions from people who have actually lived with these in real rooms.

My setup is a mixed-use living room, not a dedicated theater. Movies and gaming are probably the priority, but I also listen to a lot of music, so I don’t want something that only excels at explosions and feels sloppy for stereo listening.

A few things that matter most to me:
• Strong cinematic immersion and tactile impact
• Good musicality and integration with towers
• Wide, room-filling sound without getting boomy
• Good performance off-axis since it’s a living room
• Something that scales well if I eventually go dual subs

The models I’m mainly considering are:
• SVS PB-1000 Pro
• SVS PB-2000 Pro
• RSL Speedwoofer 10S MKII

From what I’ve gathered:
• SVS seems more refined and feature-rich, especially with the app/DSP controls
• RSL seems to have a huge reputation for performance-per-dollar and punch
• People say modern ported subs can still sound great for music, which surprised me

For people who’ve owned or compared them:
• Does SVS actually sound noticeably “better,” or just more polished?
• Is the PB-2000 Pro worth the jump over the PB-1000 Pro in a normal living room?
• How musical are the RSL Speedwoofers really?
• If you were planning to eventually run duals, which path would you choose?
• Any regrets going ported instead of sealed for mixed music/movie use?

Would especially appreciate input from people using these in non-dedicated living rooms rather than fully treated theater spaces.

Trying to Choose Between ELAC, Paradigm, Aperion, and Emotiva for My Front Stage Upgrade

I’m upgrading my front stage and have been narrowing things down based on a few specific constraints that make this harder than just buying the “best” speakers in a vacuum.

My room is a mixed-use living room setup rather than a dedicated theater. I sit fairly centered most of the time, but off-axis dialogue performance still matters because seating can spread out a bit during movies. I do a mix of movies, gaming, TV, and music, but home theater performance is the priority.

The biggest challenge is center speaker size and placement. I need something that can fit reasonably well in a media cabinet while still delivering strong dialogue clarity and good dispersion. I’m also trying to avoid systems that become fatiguing over longer listening sessions. I want cinematic and immersive, but not overly sharp or harsh.

Things I care about most:

• Dialogue clarity and center channel quality
• Off-axis performance and vocal intelligibility
• Smoothness over excessive brightness
• Strong matching towers for future-proofing
• Expandability into Atmos later
• Good dynamics for movies without sounding aggressive
• Overall long-term listening comfort

After a lot of research and feedback here, these are the four systems I’ve narrowed it down to.

1. ELAC Uni-Fi Reference System
Center
ELAC Uni-Fi Reference UCR52
• Height: 7.2”
• Depth: 10.9”
• Price: $699–799
Towers
ELAC Uni-Fi Reference UFR52
• 3-way concentric design
• ~85dB sensitivity
• 6Ω nominal impedance
Sound
Natural, coherent, balanced, smooth
Strengths
• Excellent off-axis performance
• Concentric driver design gives very cohesive imaging
• Strong dialogue clarity even outside the sweet spot
• Easy listening for long sessions
• Good Atmos compatibility
Weaknesses
• Less efficient than some competitors
• Needs decent amplification
• Not the most “explosive” theater presentation
Estimated Total
~$2,500–3,400

2. Paradigm Premier System
Center
Paradigm Premier 600C
• Height: 7.75”
• Depth: 13.1”
• Price: ~$729
Towers
Paradigm Premier 800F
• 3-way
• ~92dB sensitivity
• 8Ω nominal impedance
Sound
Neutral-refined, dynamic, authoritative
Strengths
• Excellent dynamics for movies
• Very strong center performance
• High sensitivity and easy to drive
• Excellent off-axis response
• Scales very well for both theater and music
Weaknesses
• More expensive overall
• Larger physical footprint
• Could be slightly forward depending on room
Estimated Total
~$3,330–3,930

3. Aperion Novus System
Center
Aperion Novus N6C
• Height: 7.9”
• Depth: 11.8”
• Price: ~$599
Towers
Aperion Novus N6T
• 2.5-way
• ~87–88dB sensitivity
• 4Ω nominal impedance
Sound
Warm-neutral, smooth, refined
Strengths
• Very non-fatiguing presentation
• Smooth treble and relaxed sound signature
• Strong build quality
• Good Atmos expansion options
• Seems ideal for longer movie sessions
Weaknesses
• Less dynamic than Paradigm or Emotiva
• Lower sensitivity
• Maybe not as “theater-forward” as some options
Estimated Total
~$2,000–2,400

4. Emotiva Airmotiv System
Center
Emotiva Airmotiv XC1
• Height: 7.5”
• Depth: 11.5”
• Price: ~$399
Towers
Emotiva Airmotiv XT1
• 3-way
• ~91dB sensitivity
• 4Ω nominal impedance
Sound
Dynamic, detailed, slightly bright
Strengths
• Outstanding value
• Strong dynamics and cinematic impact
• High sensitivity and easy to energize
• Compact but capable tower design
• Easier upgrade path within Emotiva ecosystem
Weaknesses
• Ribbon tweeter may still be fatiguing for some listeners
• Off-axis consistency not quite at ELAC or Paradigm level
• No dedicated matching Atmos module
Estimated Total
~$1,200–1,500

Systems I Eliminated

Wharfedale EVO
Loved the warm sound reputation and AMT tweeter, but the center depth and pricing pushed it down the list.

SVS Ultra / Ultra Evolution
Very compelling for theater use, but center sizes are becoming difficult for my setup constraints.

Magnat Signature
Really interesting value and efficiency, but I’m uncertain about long-term refinement and center performance compared to the others.

At this point I’m trying to decide which system best balances:

• cinematic immersion
• dialogue clarity
• non-fatiguing sound
• future expandability
• strong center performance
• long-term ownership satisfaction

For people who’ve owned or heard these:
Which direction would you go and why?

Dolby Atmos System for $3-4k

Trying to narrow down the best home theater setup for my living room in the $3,000–$4,000 range and could use some opinions from people who’ve heard these systems.

Room is roughly 20x20 with 8ft ceilings and opens into the kitchen/hallway on one side, so it’s not a sealed theater room and effectively adds another 10–15ft of open space. Couch is about 8–10ft back on a centered seating position, though both listeners sit slightly off-axis. Main use is movies, Atmos gaming, streaming, and some stereo music. Running a 55” OLED with some center channel placement limitations.

Current receiver is a Denon AVR-S750H, though I’m considering upgrading to an Onkyo TX-RZ50 later.

The Polk Reserve setup I can get locally is:

• R600 Towers (pair)
• R350 Slim Center
• R100 Surrounds (pair)
• R900 Atmos Heights (pair)
• SVS PB-1000 Pro Subwoofer

Retail online this setup is roughly ~$4,600+ before tax/shipping, but I can get it locally for about $4,000 out the door including tax.

Other system I’m seriously considering:

• Triangle Borea BR08 Towers
• Triangle BRC1 Center
• Triangle BR03 Surrounds
• Triangle BRA1 Atmos Speakers
• SVS PB-1000 Pro Subwoofer

That setup comes out to roughly ~$3,700 before tax/shipping.

Also looking at a KEF setup:

• KEF Q7 Meta Towers
• KEF Q6 Meta Center
• KEF Q1 Meta Surrounds
• KEF Q8 Meta Atmos Speakers
• SVS PB-1000 Pro Subwoofer

That setup comes out to about ~$4,000.

I’m also considering swapping the subwoofer options around and possibly using:
• RSL Speedwoofer 10S MKII
instead of the PB-1000 Pro.

I’ve also looked at:
• SVS Prime system
• Klipsch RP II setup with RP-404C II
• Definitive Technology Dymension setup

For my room/setup:

• Would you stick with the Polk Reserve system?
• Is the R350 the right choice over the R400 for slightly off-axis seating?
• Would the Triangle setup sound more immersive/musical?
• Is the PB-1000 Pro worth the size increase over the 10S MKII?
• How would the KEF Q Meta system compare for movies and Atmos?
• Would the AVR-S750H be enough short term for these setups until I upgrade?
• Which setup would you personally choose for mixed movies/gaming/music in a semi-open living room?

• 1x Klipsch R-50C center speaker
• 1x Klipsch R-120SWi Bluetooth subwoofer
• 1x Denon AVR-S760H receiver

System 2 - $2000

• 1x Onkyo TX-NR7100 9.2 channel receiver
• 2x Klipsch RP-280FA floor speakers with built in Atmos
• 1x Klipsch RP-440C center speaker
• 4x Klipsch satellite speakers
• 2x side surrounds
• 2x rear surrounds or Atmos channels
• 2x Klipsch R-12SW subwoofers
• 1x Klipsch R-8SWi wireless subwoofer
• 2x wall mounts for rear/Atmos satellites
• 2x floor stands for side satellites

I don’t need 3 subs but the second system seems like a steal but maybe older models? The 4 satellites are just small speakers. Idk the model number though.

Possible neurological incontinence?

I’m looking for a second opinion regarding my senior cat Vivi and her recent urinary/bladder issues. She has arthritis, chronic mobility problems, possible neurologic/spinal involvement, and receives subq fluids regularly.

She started having accidents last week and it’s progressively gotten worse. She also has arthritis, chronic mobility problems, possible neurologic/spinal involvement, and receives subq fluids regularly.

Recently she has started having episodes of incontinence and difficulty posturing while urinating normally. She is still able to urinate on her own at times and has had several large urine outputs and successful litter box trips, but during parts of the day she sometimes attempts to urinate without producing much and a few accidents outside the box. When that happens, we have occasionally been able to manually express additional urine afterward which I worry made things worse.

She had a full senior panel done last week and the urinalysis was relatively clean without white or red blood cells. Because of the retention/incontinence concerns, we have wondered whether this could still represent a low grade UTI versus more of a neurologic bladder dysfunction issue. She does not appear overtly painful, though she can be somewhat sensitive when touched around the abdomen/sides after repeated handling or expression attempts.

She recently started cisapride due to concern about GI/pelvic motility issues. She was also receiving gabapentin, though after a higher than usual dose last night she seemed significantly more disoriented, wobbly, and had worsening bladder control/incontinence, so we are discontinuing that for now. We’re also noticed a little blood in the urine so my fear is I bruised her bladder or urethra.

Currently she is still:
• producing urine and often leaking when resting
• attempting the litter box on her own but not always making it
• walking independently
• holding her head up normally
• breathing normally though it’s been slightly elevated
• not collapsing or vomiting

At this point we are trying to determine:
• whether this seems more neurologic/mechanical versus infectious
• how aggressively her bladder should be managed/expressed if at all.
• whether medications such as Solensia, bethanechol, or prazosin might help
• whether supportive management is the most realistic long term approach

I’ve got a 16 year old girl who’s also late stage 2 kidney disease. We think she had some spinal damage after a dental surgery years ago that’s slowly gotten worse. Now she’s been having accidents when she sleeps and not fully emptying her bladder.

We’re not ready to give up on her any thing we can to? Vet says maybe cisipride could help. We’ve used it for her constipation issues in the past. I’ve been manually expressing her bladder and she doesn’t seem to be in pain. We just did blood work again and no UTI was suspected unless it’s a low grade one.
