This is actually how Ruby’s keep their reddish-chestnut complexion. Got to stay tanned for the ladies at doggie daycare.

Picture 2 appears to be Finnegan seeing the Doggie Chiropractor. He must have had a sore neck from all the playing 🤣
Lobelia cardinalis AKA Cardinal Flower. Hummers seems to love them and they are very pretty as well.
This fella spent a few min bouncing around to 4-5 different flowers. They are very efficient pollinators as well.
This was his present for his 1st birthday and they have been inseparable to the point he wants to bring it on his walks🤣
After dinner, he goes and grabs it and him and Bordot play tug-o-war.

So we will sit on laps, where we belong!
I do mainly municipal tree work. I can’t tell you how many removals we’ve done where buried root flares, mulch volcanoes, or raised planters around the trunk were major contributing factors to a tree’s decline.
You’re not helping the tree. In many cases, you’re slowly shortening its lifespan.
The linden we removed today was about 80 to 90% dead**.** As you can see from the 2023 Street View, it had a relatively healthy canopy before the raised planter was built around the trunk. Some sucker growth at the base which does indicate previous stressors.
I can’t say with certainty that the planter alone caused the decline. Trees can decline for many reasons. But burying the root flare and piling soil against the trunk is a well-known stressor and is a huge red flag.
If you’re landscaping around a tree, keep the root flare exposed. Your tree will thank you in 20 years.
A tree’s trunk belongs in the air. Its roots belong in the soil.
I’ve seen some mixed info across various forums and I’m just looking for the correct info. I just purchased a 2026 PHEV which of course comes with the 19” rims. Can I downsize to 17” for winter tires or am I stuck going with 18/19s.
I’ve read some speculation that the brakes are bigger due to the larger battery, but I’m just looking for someone who has successfully outfitted theirs with 17”. I don’t pick up the suv until the end of the month and also not anticipating any snow soon (I hope🤣)
Thanks for your help!
I counted 9 grackles, a dove, and a chipmunk 🤣
Is it some sort of alarm call?

He was supervising some tree trimming at his grandmas. Cheap labour though as he is paid in watermelon. 🍉

She was hanging out for there for 10+ min enjoy the view.
If only they could improve their feeder-side manner. 🙃

The juvenile hasn’t quite figured out how to crack the seed yet but you can see them fumbling and trying. Quite cute to watch!
I usually put out some sunflower chips as well but they were all eaten up.
This was a truly fascinating catch for me. I laughed when he tried to shove more seed in his beak before putting down the insect to grab a few seeds.
