What Canon for £600? Is a discounted R50 the only future-proof option?

I got some advice that waiting for a discounted R50 was the right way to go, but willing to hear about other options. I want something that will be future-proof.

Budget £600 with starter lens, looking to shoot dynamic and portraits.

Thanks!

Getting an R50 without a lens, and want to use 2nd hand EFs with an adapter to save money. Is there a compatible portrait lens with wider apertures for under £100?

Cheap shotgun mic for loud music

I'm recording a friend's band and am looking for a beginner (<$100) shotgun mic that won't be awful for loud music.

Just starting out with videography so I'm not expecting to record film quality audio, just want everything to come through clearly.

Thanks!

edit: thanks for the clarification on shotgun mics. I'm going to be walking around so really my need is for it to be easy to carry and point with the camera.

Composite photographs for corrections.

I've taken a great picture of a friend, but because of the spontaneous capture part of his hairline is out of frame. I could easily composite in the missing hair and background (a 5% horizontal strip at the top of the photograph) from another very similar picture.

Is that still considered a "real" photograph?

Can we organise an outreach to Amnesty International UK?

Given that the head of Amnesty has offered a meeting ot TERF groups as a conciliatory gesture, I feel like it's important to make sure they hear directly from trans people too. What kind of options are there? Like a group letter delivery from an organisation like TACC directly to their office?

Can I make the focus ring on the Samsung NX300 more sensitive?

It needs a huge amount of turning to go from one end of the focal length to the other. Because it's digital and not manually changing the focus I thought them might be something I could change in the settings to make it more sensitive. I've not been able to find anything in the manual though.

Could we please have more clarity on delivery timelines? I'm not upset my order is taking a while, just that Sidephone can't tell me how long accurately.

I was told directly that my order would be shipping "any day now" two weeks ago and it still hasn't happened.

I understand that as a new product from a small company, logistics aren't straightforward and there can be delays.

But if I'm told that and then nothing happens for weeks, I feel a little misled.

I'm really excited for this product as I think it will be an excellent way of resetting how I deal with the internet. It fits perfectly into my needs of practical vs limited. But can we please get a more accurate picture of delivery timelines?

My Samsung NX300 with a 50-200 OIS lens is getting sharper images using auto focus than manual. I'm zoomed in on a sign and adjusted the focus to maximum clients, and it's still blurry. But turning on the autofocus sharpens it. Does anyone know why?

I've just acquired a Samsung NX300. Because the macro lens made for it is very expensive, I'm looking at other lenses that can be fitted with an adaptor. My local CeX has a Sigma DG 70-300mm and a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8. Which of these would work best?

Your client is Tim Heidecker. He's accused of being responsible for the deaths of 20 people and the hospitalisation of over 100, after allegedly distributing frog venom and cocaine laced vapes at an illegal music festival he organised in collaboration with a fake doctor. How do you defend him?
