only 2 kernels in grub after failed update

Hello, after updating to nobara 44 i had the black screen issue like many others, but i could fix them. You know when you boot your pc, it shows the grub menu with 3 different kernel versions you can choose from, after updating i only had 2 options. I thought maybe this is normal, if i get a kernel update next time, this will be 3 again. But no, even 2 kernel updates in and its still only a list of 2. How do i fix this?

SOLUTION FOR BOOTLOADER LOOP

Hello, i found a solution for the duo2 having bootloader looping issues. So basicly your device cant access to fastboot, no matter what you do, you stay on the bootloader menu. The reason why it happend to me was i typed the wrong device name on microsofts website when getting a recovery image. I typed "...FOOL..." instead of "...F00L...". To not get in that state, type adb devices, in resonse it well send your full model name in terminal, that you can paste in the website. But what do you do in a state of a bootloader loop, when its already too late? My " fix" was to wait. My duo2 slowly lost battery over a year, so when i tried to fix it it wouldnt boot, i charged it and it went straight to fastboot. There you need to type "fastboot devices" to get the true name, download the recovery image and then flash. This fixed my duo2, i hope this can help you too. Maybe you can fast forward this drain process with plugging in stuff to the usb or keeping the screen on, idk sadly. edit: keep in mind the golden rule: If your screen still displays, your "hard brick" isnt hard and a fully fixable brick

The best android distro for linux fans

About 7 months ago switched to linux and was amazed that i could just do what i wanted. At the time i used full google apps on my androids, where i constantly ran into issues. I couldnt install an app and when i sideloaded it, it brought me to a dead playstore page. Also every Google service apparently needs to run in the background, killing battery and performance. I had enough and degoogled with switching to crdroid, which feels like actual Linux, not android. no limitations, YOU are the owner. Unlike roms like graphene or lineage os, crdroid isnt only privacy focused but also adds a lot of cool features. I dont feel limited in my usage anymore, i can just do whatever i want. Base cr looks basiclly like a pixel, minus google, but you can customize everything in settings.

Made this post because i recently pulled a reel by that one linux larp guy on insta where he showed his Sony and many linux users comments didnt know about android roms, so i thought ill share my experience here. If you can, just switch. Especially while you can, android will soon lock down on ADB and Sideloading. Not cr.

INSANE battery life!

I use the oneplus pad 3 and ace 6t, 12140mah and 8300mah. Both devices never had an issue with battery, but crdroid is just insane. Lineage was already a set up over oos/color os, but crdroid is outstanding. The battery is literally unkillable. Here was my day, started at 60%. missing a few trains, outside the entire day so max brightness and no wifi too. Thank you crdroid for making battery life so good that even shit days like that dont fully ruin my day so i can at least use my phone ❤️

Gcam port fully offline on any degoogled phone

Here is my ace 6t, running gcam without issues, fully offline, not spying on me. Here is how i did that: i went to this Website https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/ downloaded BSG MGC 9.7 for snapdragon (because i have a snapdragon soc), installed it and went into settings, disabled background processes and all data connection. Then i installed micro g and the companion app, also disabled background processes and data connection. Lastly i installed this app https://droidify.app/app/?id=com.google.android.apps.photos&repo\_address=https://calyxos.gitlab.io/calyx-fdroid-repo/fdroid/repo to fix the preview button not working, also disabled background, data was already off. Now my phone takes amazing photos without a single byte of data for google!

Schon wieder eine dreckige Kackapp die unsere online Daten mit uns Verbinden will. Was ist eigentlich aus Privatsphäre geworden. Bin ehrlich sprachlos.

Switched to oneplus. Best thing i ever did

Hello, i am a lifelong samsung user. My first phone was the horrible galaxy grand prime, my first tablet the okay tab a10.1 2016. This didnt stop me from sticking with them. I only knew samsung, apple and huawei at the time, samsung was imo the best. So i got the s9, 2 years later the tab s7. I was so happy when i got them, especially the s7 was so fast. At least thats what i felt like. My s9 stopped getting updates and i didnt want a new phone, so i googled "one ui 3 on galaxy s9" just to find out it was actually possible. Tried it, it was okay. My brother was amazed too, but he instead went to pixel experience on his s10. At this moment i noticed how bad one ui really was. He got insane battery life and it was soooooo fluid. Later id flash pixel experience / lineage os on both devices. Even on my s7, because all the one ui updates made it slow, laggy ans buggy. Issues were everywhere. Now as my needs got bigger, i needed new devices. I want something with great value, of course rom support and good specs. something the s7 provided back then. But the new s11 is trash, no snapdragon and its 1000€. The oneplus pad 3 came around, it destroyed even the ultra series, for 600€. Honestly its just like seeing light at the end of a dark alley. Oneplus is what Samsung used to be, at least imo. While Samsung locked down their phones and just got more expensive, oneplus gets even more agressive each year with their devices. Just got a new phone too, keep the 450€ price in mind. 8g5, 100w charging, 8300mah!!, 16/512gb of the fastest storage and as a cherry on top 165hz. This is a midranger, demolishing their flagships. Whats your take on this?

The most elegant degoogled experience

This is my crdroid 12 setup, running on my oneplus ace 6t. I have a dual setup on it where i set up gapps with aurora store and micro g, so i can still use closed source bloat when i need. What do you think?

Weird shadows on Snapdragon 8gen5

Some textures are very weird looking, completly black models and such. My device is the oneplua ace 6t, snapdragon 8gen5. Is it because the soc is so new? I also play on my tablet with last years 8 elite, it works 100% fine there.

Rooting in the big '26

Hello, i have been using custom roms since i got my s9 brand new but i only ever rooted it once. What are the perks of rooting rn, any great apps or usecases? I am currently running vanilla (degoogled) lineage os 23.2 on it

Lineage os is comming for AYN devices!

Just checked the changelog, they are adding a lot of blobs for AYN rn. Lineage os is amazing for emu and general usage, i use it since android 12L and it's so great. The OS is 100% bloat free and runs gets on anything. Especially ram usage is great, only taking 600-800mb for me with nothing open!

Gutes Veganes Proteinpulver?

Why is nobody switching to custom roms on android?

Rn a lot of people are switching from windows to linux because the situation is bad rn, the os is full of spyware, hard to run on old system, laggy and full of bloat. But these are the same issues on android now. Take my 2 daily devices for example, the old galaxy s9 and new oneplus pad 3. The s9 died on android 10, which leaves it out of many things like current redesigns, app support, performance and battery life gains. On lineage os 23.2 based on android 16, everything works great! The 4gb device has no issues because i didn't install gapps and lineage itself is very lightweight. I can install every new app and game, like moco from supercell for example, which requires android 12.

My oneplus pad 3 is very similar. I wanted a new tablet to play more games because support on android is getting good since steam develops proton and fex, so i went for this high end beast. The issue: 1. the os looked like fake ios, felt kinda weird to use imo after using stock android since 12L 2. The bloat was insane. from the 16gb, oxygen os already took 9gb!!! on a fresh boot!!!

The solution - lineage os 23.2 again! It uses only up to 800mb of ram on this device, leaving me with plent of free ram to do as i please. The battery and performance gains are insane, similarly from switching from windows to linux, i noticed way better fps and especially way better 0.1%, it's not dropping frames anymore. And imo lineage is objectively better looking than oxygen os.

But this textwall brings me to a question: My experience is insanely good and i hooked up a few friends of mine with lineage too, they are all super happy with it. Why are so many people reluctant to try a custom rom? It's just like installing linux on a pc, depending on the phone it's also way easier too! On my pad 3 for example i just had to paste like 5 commands or so, took 5 minutes to install

Performance issues / loss of optimization.

Hello, so last year when moco came out, i played it a lot on my tablet. It had the snapdragon 865+ 6/128gb and it was always super smooth, no lag and no crashes. I kinda lost interest but after the new update, i was interested once again. I upgraded my tablet so I didn't notice performance issues on my end, but today i played with my bf. He has a slightly more powerful tablet, snapdragon 870 (same gpu, better cpu) and the same 6/128gb. Though now the performance was absolute garbage. The game was crashing a few times and it was extremely slow and stuttery. Please optimize the game!! I really want to play it on my phone, but it only had 4gb of ram, so i can probably forget that... Also since many new budget phones release with 4gb ram again, this must be dealt with if you want more players!
