It Finally Happened

RIP: https://imgur.com/a/fpiv7Rl

Just click the link above. Let's make this pic go viral. My S22 started glitching one month ago and has been getting progressively worse every day since then. After hearing about the malfunctions after the update and the lawsuit, I upgraded to an S26 just in time. Meanwhile, I had tried everything to restore it back to a normal state to no avail. My perfectly normal (except for the shitty battery life) S22 just suddenly died today. I woke up and it ran out of battery. It then never charged or turned on after that. Not everyone is able to upgrade like I did. We need to make this pic go viral because, while kinda funny, represents what is and has been happing to thousands of S22 owners across the world. We shall fight until Samsung repays us. I got very very lucky and was able to move all my data from my old phone to my new phone before it became too fucked up and died. But there are thousands who did not have that fate and lost everything, all their precious memories and information. There should be a petition against Samsung for this. Something needs to be done.

Beware S23 users, please don't update your phones. Samsung is doing it now on S23 users, after doing it in S22 users.

I have a S22 Plus, paid around 12k for replacing the display after getting a green line in November 2024, after doing a security update. After replacing the display, the service centre people advised me not to update the phone any more. They asked me to bring the phone to service centre, they will update the phone safely if I wanted to update the phone. They also told me they got a lot of similar cases around that time with lot of S22 devices. Samsung is doing the same with S23 users now, so be aware with the updates.

Not getting a Scamsung next time, even if they give me a phone at a very discounted rate, as they seem to be doing this practice after 2-3 years of releasing the phone.

My beloved s22 finally bit the dust ...it's unusable right now and if I try to turn it on it just boot loops forever till the battery dies 😭😭😭😭god I loved that phone will miss it for sure and not in a state to buy a new phone for a year or so ☹️

FUCK SAMSUNG

PS i wanted to use it still and had given it to a local shop to get it fixed they quoted me around $30(3000 rupees Indian ) to re solder the cpu back ☹️ and there was no hope that it would work fine after that 😭

When a Flagship Phone Becomes a Full-Time Headache: My Samsung S25 Ultra Story

Bought a ₹1.3 lakh Samsung S25 Ultra and have spent the last 2 months dealing with an unresolved issue. Picture with issue stated attached

20+ service centre visits, phone opened 4 times, multiple escalations to Samsung India, CEO Desk and Consumer Helpline, yet no resolution.

I've documented everything and have now started sharing my experience publicly. If you feel this deserves attention, please help upvote and share so it reaches Samsung's senior management.

Any advice or similar experiences would also be appreciated.

S26 Ultra Warranty Update (Denied)

Screen is warping and separating from the inside under the glass. Sent it in and Samsung said my device is “out of warranty due to condition” they said there is a scratch on the OLED panel. No not the glass that you touch but the panel itself under the glass. Excuse me? So the screen falling apart is denied because in the process of falling apart it scratches? Clearly based on the exterior of my device it hasn’t been abused or damaged by me. This is an internal defect with the screen and Samsung denied the warranty and shipped it back to me.

My Samsung S25 FE Exploded behind my head during charging while my 8 year old son and I were sleeping!

Edit** it wasn't under a fucking pillow people** BEHIND ---AS IN ---ABOVE! MY HEAD! Where did this pillow come from?!

My samsung s25fe exploded ( actual fireworks) in my bed while it was charging. I purchased the phone through Virgin only 6 months ago. Its never felt hot at all. The other night I woke up to sounds of popping/ fireworks and metal/ plastic shrapnel flying everywhere. My son occasionally hops into my bed when he has bad dreams and happen to be beside me this night. He's so traumatized. The fire department came and put the smoke out and put the phone in a salt water bath. I wasn't able to get photos until today. I still can't go in my room because of the smell. If anyone has ever smelled a battery exploding, you'll understand what I mean. The phone was charging on my mattress and likely over heated ( YES IM AWARE THIS WAS A STUPID SPOT TO PUT IT). However, my house is always SO cold. I'm a 67 degree sort of girl. I used the same cord it came with and a compatible block (Samsung doesn't give you the actual wall block anymore).

We are fine, other then my hair getting singed (I have bangs now) and a small burn on my neck. My son is quite traumatized and doesn't want anything plugged in. He doesn't want to play with his Nintendo switch because he's afraid of the battery, and he isn't sleeping. I have a ton of property damage in my room. I contacted Samsung and they gave me a ticket number, but haven't heard anything else yet. I'm still paying monthly for this phone! I never thought this would happen to me. I'm still in shock about it all to be honest.

Would you still trust Samsung?

Got my first samsung flagship (S23+) in 2024, was planning to keep it for atleast 5 years. Then the first strike happened this year in april, line pink appear out of nowhere while im scrolling through tiktok. Ngl i was shocked, never thought my time would came as i always see this type of post here and twitter. Okay i calmed down and tried to be creative with my first pink line 🤣. But then samsung keep surprising me, 2nd green line...and today 3rd green line 🥲.

So, what are the chances of the S26 line up getting the same issue in the future? cause ive been thinking to upgrade but im scared of facing the same issue again. The thing is, im just a student, i saved my money from my own allowance for 6+ months in 2023/4 to get the S23+, so i dont wanna save my money again just to be dissapointed in the next 2 years of my use if i were to buy the S26 Ultra.

Ive been eyeing the Iphone 17 Pro, but im still not sure if i wanna leave samsung, i also have the tab S10 fe rn so im kinda in the ecosystem, but to justify i still can use my S23+ with it tho just not as my main. I know almost all phone brand have the same risk, but its mostly common in Samsung flagship, so maybe switching to iphone might be a decent idea?

Ps. im not gonna fix my S23+, its not worth it for me + theres no free replacement

"Update: Samsung promised a free repair after my post went viral, but they sent it back with a damaged screen! lol (DOCOMO/Samsung Japan Fail)"

Remember me? The guy with the DOCOMO Shop Funabashi repair disaster that went viral.

After my previous post started getting traction (thanks for the support, guys!), I finally got an email from Samsung Japan. They apologized and promised a free repair at their official center to fix the mess made by the Funabashi store.

I thought, "Great, finally some accountability!" I was wrong. lol

The "Repaired" Result (Look at 1000013897.jpg):

My Galaxy S25 just came back from the Samsung repair center today. I opened the box, and the first thing I saw was a scratch/defect right on the display (see 1000013897.jpg).

This screen was perfect when I sent it in. They were supposed to fix the previous "repair mistake," but instead, they just added more damage. Is this what Samsung calls "Official Service" in 2026? lol

The Ridiculous Part:

They even threw in a stainless steel mug again.

Samsung's Logic: "We scratched your screen (again), but hey, here's a cup! Please don't be mad!"

My Reality: I now have a damaged flagship and a collection of unwanted mugs.

I am absolutely done with Samsung Japan and DOCOMO. They talk big in emails when they’re afraid of bad PR, but their actual technicians clearly don't give a damn about the devices.

Watch out if you're dealing with DOCOMO Shop Funabashi or the official Samsung repair centers in Japan. They are apparently incapable of returning a phone without breaking something else.

My Galaxy S24 exploded in my hand during normal use (not charging)

This happened in South Korea on May 11, 2026.

My Galaxy S24 suddenly emitted smoke, extreme heat, and exploded in my hand while I was using it normally to search the internet.

Important details:

The phone was NOT charging

No drop damage

Never repaired or opened

Fire department responded

Signs consistent with lithium battery ignition were identified on site

I am currently receiving medical treatment for smoke inhalation symptoms and anxiety/insomnia after the incident

Samsung told me they would collect the device for internal investigation, but I have not received further explanation yet.

Photos, medical records, and incident evidence have been preserved.

For privacy and safety reasons, I would prefer to remain anonymous publicly.

If media outlets are interested, I am willing to provide additional photos and videos.

UPDATE1: 26.5.13

Thank you for all the concern, advice, and support.

This incident did actually happen, and many of my coworkers witnessed it as well. I also have video footage related to the incident, and I have already informed outlets such as BBC and CNN that I am willing to provide additional evidence if requested.

At the moment, I have not been contacted by any Korean media outlets.

I was actively using the phone in my hand for normal web searching when it suddenly began swelling very rapidly before exploding. Thankfully, the lower part of the phone split open during the incident, which likely reduced the severity of the injuries. I only suffered minor burn blisters instead of more serious physical harm.

(Additional Information) The device was purchased as an official unlocked Galaxy S24 through Samsung Partners in South Korea on June 11, 2024, and was received and activated on June 12, 2024. Since then, it had been used normally without any repairs, modifications, or internal opening.

I originally switched from Apple iPhones to Samsung years ago, and honestly, this experience — along with the response afterward — has changed the way I feel.

Please stay careful and safe with your devices as well.

I will continue updating this post if there are any major developments or investigation results.

UPDATE2: 26.05.13

I was just contacted by the director of a local Samsung service center. According to what I was told, employees from Samsung headquarters became aware of this Reddit post and instructed the local service center to respond. I am still recording and preserving all communication related to this incident, and if major media outlets request it, I am prepared to provide those records as well. I once again requested direct communication from the appropriate department at Samsung headquarters. To be clear, I have never demanded financial compensation during this process. What I truly want is for Samsung to recognize the seriousness of this incident and respond with transparency and sincerity. Experiencing something like this has honestly changed the way I think about battery fire situations and consumer safety. I hope companies learn to take these incidents seriously before they become larger public safety issues.

I’ve honestly realized how powerful Reddit can be.

Thank you everyone. The support and attention from people here have genuinely helped someone like me feel less alone while dealing with this situation.

If more people become aware of battery safety risks through this post, I think that alone would already mean a lot to me.

And seriously, for everyone reading this on their phones right now — please stay safe and pay attention to unusual heat or warning signs 😅

If I use ultra wide camera then switch to 1x even then this doesn't stop.

My S25U is out of warranty, what should I do?

Edit: yes I know this is a hardware defect, but will scamsung accept it's their fault? Since device is out of warranty

I’m beyond frustrated right now. My Benq GW2490 monitor just went black again right after a brief power outage. The power LED is still on, but the screen is not turning on.

This is the exact same thing that happened just after 3 months of purchase, in 2024.

Last time they repaired it under warranty (took almost a month) , and after that I got an 8 socket Belkin surge protector to plug in the monitor, laptop adapter etc. I can’t believe a monitor from such a reputed brand like benq died twice from a simple power cut when my tv, 5 year old laptop (that's always plugged in) etc are fine.

Has anyone else dealt with this model being super sensitive to power outages? Is the internal PSU just garbage? I’m still under warranty but I’m tired of shipping this thing back and forth. Called benq customer care & registered a complaint & awaiting the service center's call. It's still covered in warranty, but this will most probably take another month to repair. Never gonna buy benq again!

The launch prices of X300FE & Ultra is ridiculous! How could Vivo launch an FE phone, which is a rebranded s50 pro mini at a price tag above their proper compact flagship X300?! This has the same camera setup as last year's x200fe which was launched for 55k, and it's inferior compared to X300. Even the X200T priced at 55k has a proper 50MP ultrawide compared to the mediocre 8MP one in this!

The chipset is also an upper midrange SD 8 gen 5, not a flagship 8 elite gen 5 or D9500.

The X300 Ultra was overpriced as expected. It's basically a camera with smartphone functionality at this point. Way better than S2x ultras & Iphone pro maxes in terms of camera. But X300 pro & Find X9 pro can do 95% of what X300U does, for around 60-70k less price.

It's better to get Vivo X300/Oppo Find X9 around 65k price range, and their pro models are also available around 85-90k offline. And, X200T remains the most vfm camera centric phone around 50k. I wouldn’t be surprised if vivo discontinues these soon just to force people into buying this overpriced FE shit.

Even with just normally using the device never gaming even temperatures just at 32-33C didn't fall much it did but at just at knee height it's even well protected even never did software up sticked on 6.1 yet greenline will still greet you nevertheless. Pulled the trigger and got the latest model the device is lighter though IMO 23u got more premium feel and i like the boxy design more(ex lumia and Xperia user).
