Glad we got out of the dark ages

Glad we got out of the dark ages

I will admit there was some good stuff in the Early 2010s like Dead Space 2 and Alien Isolation but it was depressing seeing critically acclaimed franchises like Resident Evil, Dead Space and Silent Hill shitting the bed all at once

Also I dont know if you guys remember but Amy was massively hyped when it was shown off in trailers, for it's 'revolutionary' mechanics, and then the game came out and was one of most disappointing games ever made, earning a 22 on metacritic, one of the lowest scores given for a game ever

Handhelds are the final evolution of a 'console'

What do you think the purpose of a dedicated gaming console is?

It's to have a system that plays games as conveniently as possible

Current gaming consoles like the Xbox Series and the PS5s are home consoles, they are strapped to your living space and are stationary, if you want to play console games on a road trip it's not going to be possible

Enter the Nintendo Switch(es), Nintendo understood that if they want to succeed, they needed to make it convenient to play games anywhere

so, they developed the Nintendo Switch, which then became the second highest selling console of all time

And following its success they released the Nintendo Switch 2, and to no one's surprise it is also very successful

Another part of the reason why handhelds are more successful is that in most households they only have one home console, as they usually have one TV, but with a handheld you can sell all members of a household their own personal handheld

Handhelds are the future and Sony and Xbox should be scrambling to make one themselves, otherwise they're going to be left in the dust

after Way of The Sword would you guys like to see CAPCOM remake Onimusha 1 through 4?

So, the reason why we get a new Resident Evil almost every year is that they remake a lot of their older games in between their new and original entry

So, for example RE7 -> RE2R -> RE3R -> RE8 -> RE4R -> RE9 -> RECVR

if CAPCOM decides Onimusha is still profitable, they could use the same strategy to bridge the gap between new entries with remakes

However, the problem is that Way of The Sword is very different in terms of gameplay compared to the older Onimusha games so I don't think retro fitting WOTS combat into Warlords or Demon Siege would be a good idea

All concurrent Bloober Team projects

SAW Genesis is being codeveloped with Anshar games and Project M was initially co-developed with Draw Distance, but Bloober brought it fully in house and are developing it themselves, it is said to use Switch 2 exclusive features

Xbox hit with another price increase and they've said it's going to get worse

I am surprised by how transparent they're being, I wonder how console prices are going to look like by the end of 2027

An $800 PS5 digital would be hard to stomach and doesn't Sony have the PS6 release next year? Are they going to delay that perhaps?

I guess Nintendo got off easy by having much weaker hardware, they only have a 12GB/256GB variant

Mortal Shell 2 is most definitely delayed to Q1 2027

Coming off of LOTF2 delay to 2027 I think it's safe to assume Mortal Shell 2 is also delayed to 2027

I know the devs didn't give us a concrete release date aside from a vague 2026 but realistically there is no way the game is coming out in 2026

If they do have the game ready for 2026 then where are they going to announce the release date? Gamescom? but that's in August, which only leaves September, October or November for release

And any studio announcing they're going to release a game in those months this late is basically asking for their game to flop

The ship has sailed for games releasing this year

KEMURI (CAG shown off in the recent SoP) is NOT a PS exclusive, it is also coming to PC

Just clearing up some confusion, as the steam page of the game isnt up and there were no mentions of a PC port during the State of Play

FYI Unseen Inc the game studio behind KEMURI was founded by Ikumi Nakamura who also worked on Bayonetta, Okami and The Evil Within

You can see some gameplay here - https://youtu.be/yWMwRfJj8So?si=ebhvKdHwoBY4TmJQ
