Is renting a car in Goa better than depending on taxis?

We’ll be staying in both North and South Goa for a week and trying to figure out if renting a car is actually worth it. I’ve heard quite a few stories about fares and availability of local taxis so wondering if renting a car would make more sense.

Has anyone done this recently? Would you recommend renting from Revv, Zoomcar or something similar, or just sticking with taxis?

Jaipur to Udaipur road trip - self-drive or hire a cab?

I'm planning a 4-day Rajasthan trip with family, covering Jaipur to Udaipur. Just confused about whether it would be easier to rent a self drive SUV for the whole trip or just hire a cab with a driver.

For those who've done a similar route recently, what would you recommend? Also, are there any self drive rental services that you've had a good experience with recently and would consider reliable?

Would appreciate any suggestions, thanks in advance!

My nephew just cleared his intermediate and needs help in picking engineering college

My nephew just finished intermediate and did decently in MPC. It is not JEE top rank material but not a bad score either, he has a few good options.

We're currently deciding between a local private college, an out of state college, and some newer programs that claim to be more industry focused.

For those who've been through this or helped someone make this call, what mattered the most in the end? College name, placements, curriculum, or something else? Would really appreciate hearing from people with firsthand experience

How do labs keep assay-ready cells consistent from batch to batch?

Hey, we've been seeing some frustrating variability in one of our downstream assays, and we're starting to think the cells are contributing more to the inconsistency than the assay itself.

For those of you who prepare assay-ready cells regularly, what practices have made the biggest difference in keeping batches consistent enough that results are comparable over time?

Curious to hear what's worked well in your lab and what you've found isn't worth the effort.

Looking at AMRs vs AGVs vs forklifts. What actually makes sense for an FMCG warehouse?

We run an FMCG warehouse where things move fast and layouts change fairly often. Right now we're mostly using forklifts, but we're considering some level of automation.

For those who've worked with AMRs or AGVs, how well do they handle changing workflows and day-to-day warehouse realities? Did the productivity gains justify the cost, or did forklifts still make more sense?

Would love to hear real-world experiences, if anyone here has tried this

Should I undervolt my Ryzen 9 8940HX Omen16 laptop? If yes, how to do it?

Received my laptop a few days back and was playing BOTW on Cemu emulator at 2x res 60fps. It ran perfectly but the thermals reached around 90+ degrees CPU which is surprising because this isn't even the most demanding game out there. Idle temperature is around 50-55 degrees.

Laptop is at balanced mode with all updated drivers and updated windows and everything. I read that undervolting is an option to reduce temperature but would yall recommend it? I have no idea how to do it or what it does. Please help!

Specs - Ryzen 9 8940HX with RTX 5060, 1600p display, 240HZ

28, earning well, saving well, but 100% in equity. Am I missing something or is this fine?

I'm 28 and working as a product manager in Bangalore. My monthly take-home is around ₹1.2L.

Been investing seriously for about 2 years and currently do ₹70k/month in equity MF SIPs, NPS running, emergency fund is sorted. Apart from EPF, my portfolio is essentially 100% equity.

This year's dip was the first real test of my risk tolerance. At one point the portfolio was down ~14%, and while I stayed invested, the anxiety was definitely real. It's recovered partially since then.

I'm not planning to exit equities, but the experience made me question whether having essentially 100% equity exposure minus EPF is actually a sensible strategy, or if I'm just riding conviction that got tested this year.

For those who are further along in their investing journey, how do you think about asset allocation? Would love to hear how others approach this.

Not a competitive gamer, just play casually and do editing/college work. Is the extra amount for the ATK VXE R1 worth it? Or should I go for a cheaper mouse?

At what monthly SIP amount did you first feel "this is actually making a difference"?

I'm still pretty early in my investing journey, so this got me curious, at what monthly SIP amount did you first feel like investing was actually making a meaningful difference?

Not necessarily when you started investing, but when you looked at your portfolio and thought, "Okay, this is starting to move the needle." Was it ₹5k/month? ₹20k? ₹50k+?

I feel like many of us start with small SIPs, but there's usually a point where the portfolio growth becomes noticeable enough to change how we think about money and long-term goals.

Curious to hear everyone's experiences.

My cousin's wedding is next month and it's making me wonder: are lavish Indian weddings actually worth it anymore?

My cousin's wedding is next month, and seeing the expenses pile up has been well... eye-opening. Jewellery (amid sky high gold prices), catering for hundreds of guests, expensive outfits, photography, decorations, gifts. The total cost is enormous.

I understand that weddings are special and create lifelong memories, but I also can't help wondering how much of that spending people actually remember a few years later. If some part of the money was used on a lavish honeymoon and the rest was invested instead, it could make a huge difference financially.

I'm curious where people draw the line between celebrating a major life event and overspending. Are lavish Indian weddings actually worth it? What parts are worth spending on, and what parts are a complete waste of money?

Bought this Omen for ₹120000. Need some insight!

So my primary purpose for buying this laptop is college work (Mech eng), video editing, gaming, entertainment in general and whatever else arises later. I plan to keep it at least for my entire college life.

I had a budget of 1lakh and was eyeing the ryzen ai 7 350 rtx 5050 variant. Unfortunately I lost a good deal at that price range due to circumstances. That's when I saw this one with better looking specs at 1.2 and somehow convinced my parents to put in the extra amount.

Going overbudget was already making me feel guilty when I came across reviews stating it is a beast performance wise but struggles battery wise. The ryzen 7 variant supposedly has much better battery while this one barely crosses 2 hours of normal browsing (according to redditors).

I feel like I have bought an overpowered device which I might not even utilize fully while compromising on an important factor like battery. It hasn't arrived yet. Should I cancel the order and lose out on the deal? People who have the laptop/have used it, please share your insights. Is the battery life actually really bad?
