RONAN #A813252 NEEDS A LIFELINE — PLEASE HELP US FIND HIM A FOSTER BEFORE 4:30 PM TODAY 💔

I’m writing this because Ronan doesn’t have a voice, and right now he needs someone to speak up for him.

Ronan is sitting in a shelter kennel waiting for someone to notice him. He doesn’t understand why he’s there. He doesn’t know that his time is running out. He only knows that he’s surrounded by unfamiliar sounds and people, and he’s hoping someone will come back for him.

Ronan is a 2-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix who has spent 22 days at San Antonio Animal Care Services. He weighs 47 lbs and has the sweetest, gentlest personality.

When he first meets people, he can be nervous. He may lower his body and seem unsure, but that isn’t aggression — that’s fear. Once he realizes he’s safe, his true personality comes out. ❤️

His play group evaluation showed that Ronan greeted handlers with a wagging tail and a loose body, showing his friendly and loving nature.

Ronan is:

🐾 Potty trained

🐾 Good on a leash

🐾 A cuddle bug

🐾 Looking for someone to make him feel safe

When he gets scared, he doesn’t react badly — he simply pancakes because he’s overwhelmed. He’s just asking someone to be patient with him and show him that he’s okay.

Can you imagine being Ronan? Waiting day after day, watching people walk by, hoping that today is the day someone chooses you?

He doesn’t need someone perfect.

He doesn’t need someone with all the answers.

He just needs one person willing to open their home and give him a chance.

I don’t know how to write this without breaking my heart.

Somewhere right now, Ronan is sitting in a shelter kennel, waiting. He doesn’t understand why he’s there. He doesn’t know that his time is running out. He doesn’t know that the clock is ticking toward 4:30 PM today.

All he knows is that he wants someone to love him. 🥹

Ronan is a young Black Mouth Cur with the saddest eyes and the sweetest soul. He is the kind of dog who leans into you when he’s scared, the kind who wants reassurance, the kind who still believes humans are good.

He’s gentle. He’s affectionate. He’s potty trained. He loves to cuddle. He walks well on a leash, and when he gets nervous, he simply pancakes because he’s scared — not because he’s bad. He’s just looking for someone to show him that he’s safe.

Ronan is not a problem dog.

He is not a dog who deserves to die alone in a shelter.

He is a dog who needs someone to say:

“I see you. I’ll give you a chance.” ❤️

At just 1 year old, Coco (#A2079653) should be enjoying life, learning, playing, and feeling safe.
Instead, this sweet young girl is on BARC’s euthanasia list and needs a foster, adopter, or rescue commitment by Tuesday.
💔 Coco came to the shelter through a cruelty confiscation case.
Despite whatever happened to her before arriving at BARC, she continues to greet staff with wagging tails, happy feet, soft eyes, and a loose, wiggly body.

One note that stands out: Coco jumped a play yard fence while trying to follow staff. Not to escape—she simply wanted to stay close to people. 💔
While she can be timid at times and occasionally vocalizes when left alone, Coco repeatedly settles, relaxes, and seeks human companionship.
She has also been receiving treatment for a respiratory infection and intestinal parasites, both common and treatable shelter illnesses.

5/30/2026: Weighed 36.0 lbs. Intake exam normal. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, flea prevention given, and heartworm test High Positive.

6/8/2026: Green nasal discharge and hacking cough observed. Diagnosed with suspected CIRDC/URI and moved for treatment. Started on Doxycycline 150 mg once daily for 10 days.
