Anyone Else Feel Like They’re Addicted to Stress? And Stardew Valley Made You Realize it?

Anyone else feel like they’re addicted to stress? I fucking LOVE Stardew Valley, but it can stress me the fuck out and it has basically become a third person perspective of my unhealthy work habits, social anxiety, guilt and shame. I feel guilty not saying aloud to my in-game wife, Leah, despite knowing she’s not real. I feel like the killjoy and get FOMO when the game requires me to leave a festival to end it. Fuck, I then turn around a blame myself for not putting in this work in real life! Like, why aren’t I a farmer yet? Like right now? I have a garden, why am I not making money off it? Why am I so lazy? And yet, I can’t stop playing. I take breaks, and I keep telling myself, “I should play another game,” and then I go right back to playing.

First day of playing Stardew Valley

I have FINALLY started Stardew Valley!!!! And…I’m on day 3 in the game when it got way too real. Well, already it was way too real with how much I struggled to navigate even the closest places and filled my inventory within 5 minutes. But then day 3, I got an advertisement for a 24 slot backpack available at Pierre’s, it was a pouring rainy day, and I went to the store….and it was closed. Pierre’s is closed on Wednesdays.

This Hawk In My Neighborhood

Forgive the poor phone camera quality. I need to start taking my professional camera on my bike rides because I saw this hawk (I’m guessing a red tailed hawk) was perched on a roof instead of swooping overhead as usual, saw 4-5 magpies, I saw a vulture on a tree and some baby quails and their parents across the street!

ADHD Hide and Seek: Household Items Edition

First, I finally found the remote I lost last night: it fell off the bed into my shoe. Then, I found my water bottle: I left it outside overnight on the hot tub. How appropriate that the water bottle I lost has the ADHD sticker on it.

A group of flag holders block a group of homophobic protesters at Pride Parade

There was a sign that said, “Homosexual sex is a threat to national security.” They kept turning that one so I couldn’t get a photo, but I found that one hilariously stupid.

I finally cleaned off my nightstand and made it a Litha themed altar

It’s mostly just focusing on health and self care with a couple crystal wands, but hey, it’s something! And I finally did it after months on Litha!

Crow Pride Shirt and Plushies

Hopefully this isn’t too much of a stretch for this sub. I have a TON of video and photos from feeding crows that I’ve just been too overwhelmed to post, but this is one of my new favorite shirts EVER! And I wanted to share it! And the larger crow plush I got at Comicon last weekend and his name is Crybaby. The one smaller one is from Amazon and named Echo. (Not advertising, just context.)

Also, I included some of the images I got of crows over the course of my Merchandiser job, because let me tell you, that was one of the only things that would help me get through that job that SEVERELY burnt me out.

Also, I don’t own the final photo. I just feel as though it summarizes my life sometimes.

Saw this sticker at pride and remembered that buying merch helps me accept it

Posted this image in the comments of this post:

But I wanted to make a post, too. So, I tried to find Bipolar 2 specific merch because something about having clothing reminders, stickers, attire, etc, honestly helps me normalize my mental illness. I did this with ADHD and it helped A LOT. Autism, same thing (although I do still struggle a bit with that second one significantly even with unmasking). But I saw this sticker and kind of didn’t even realize I wanted this kind of normalizing of my Bipolar 2 until I saw it. I ended up going to RedBubble and seeing if there was Bipolar 2 merch to help me feel like it was more acknowledged and…not proud, but open? Like an open conversation. Kind of found some lesser thought of, “Pride,” At Pride. (Not in any way to put down people coming out or belittle anything. Just kind of a type of Pride I didn’t think/know I needed found at Pride.)

My very first (partially) made cosplay!

The cloak I bought years ago, but I made the crow and ears and taped them to my headphones, and I made the axe with bisexual colors because it matched my Bisexual shirt that says, “I swing both ways. Violently. With an axe.” And the bisexual colors let me double it as a carry on for pride this weekend! I love this game, damn it!!!!

Went to Spokane Pride Yesterday Pt 2: And Bi Axe! Or Bi Thor!

I made an axe for my Cult of the Lamb cosplay for Comicon last week, and I realized I could make the handle bisexual and then use it for pride as well! (It also matched my, “I Swing Both Ways. Violently. With an Axe,” shirt) and it made a good fan and face shield from the sun, too! And honestly, it was validating to see so many bisexual flags this year!

Went to Pride in Spokane Yesterday, and got these two items!

I’ll post a second post with the actual footage.
