do you think games will eventually be linux native rather than just allowing proton?

like will we see flatpak games or appimages games on steam?

or is linux just going to use windows games forever? talking purely about future games. i know no one is going back to port old games to linux.

chatgpt is actually good

i left chatgpt few months ago when its tone got annoying and gone to gemini. however gemini too now got annoying so i gone to chatgpt still annoying.

i fixed chatgpt by a custom system prompt i made and now it tone feels good to me. so yeah chatgpt feels good to me now,i made its tone more submissive to me like i tell it to do smth and it does it no arguing its feels a bit like how gpt 4 used to be.

does anyone else feel chatgpt is good to use on this sub? i see a lot of people say chatgpt got really dumb and stuff(gemini is far dumber and invents stuff far more than chatgpt from my experience)

what things do you think will come to linux once it reaches popular end user use on desktop and laptops?

by that i mean its equal to macos usage or even higher.

also what things do you think linux will change in itself if it becomes popular ?(on laptops and desktops. no "its number 1 on servers" i know)

this question is mainely about gaming. but also about general pc use,as no os can grow large without being good enough for everything.

what do you think is the future of linux on standards across distros?

like what standards do you think will linux widely get across distros in the future?

it can be about anything, translation layers, linux native stuff.

why do a lot of firefox users especially on reddit deny chromium browsers are smoother and faster?

like that is an objective fact not a "it depends on the computer" or "google conspiracy on firefox makes it seem slower"

no,its just google blink is more mature at handling tons of javascript code at once, while firefox isn't so it feels slower and heavier.

google conspiracy doesn't explain it ,because even non google sites like chatgpt are slower and heavier on firefox than chrome or brave.

why are a lot of firefox redditors like that? they even insisit firefox is better at every single thing than chromium browsers(false)

if told just 10 years ago that linux would be able to run more than 90% of all games ever made for windows. would you have believed it back then?

its essentially what proton and dxvk do. its just that insane.

since linux marketshare has reached 7.5% . what do you expect will change when linux surpasses macos?

i think more devs even non game devs will port their apps to snap or flatpak. and proton will be able to run more and more games.

my windows 11 broke itself. should i try linux?

i game and use office and brave on my laptop. my specs are gtx 1650 i5-10500h 16gb ram 256gb nvme ssd and 1tb sata ssd.

i don't do adobe or anti cheat stuff(or even steam stuff bec i play "very legit" games).

i want pros and cons what i would get from linux vs a working windows system so i know if i should use it.

also i want a specific distro to base the choice on

why doesn't valve port proton to mac?

linux and mac are both unix like right? and proton it already made. why can't valve just port it over?

so mac gamers can run windows games like linux gamers now do.

also about mac being arm based . can't that be solved for games by using the Fex project?

how did gtx 1650 and gtx 1080 last so long?

until recently gtx 1650 was from the most used cards on steam.

and a lot of people still play using those two cards.

how is that? if we move by this sub talk then the rtx 5050 already can't play games lol
