I relapsed and everything is worse

Back in Winter I (22m) managed to go without porn for 3 months (the longest I have gone without it since 17). I was alone in my house on New Year's and felt tempted to do it again, and I did. It's been months since then and I am a wreck. My sexual desires are growing intensely and I feel awful. There are times where I feel like I am going insane trying to be celibate.

It's been 5 years and I have never surpassed a year. Please pray for me.

Deltarune feels inconsistent

Chapter 1 and Chapter 5 feel like completely different games. The humor, art, gameplay, and even some of the OSTs in Chapter 5 operate under a different philosophy than Chapter 1—especially the humor (not a huge fan of the over-reliance on hyper-expressive faces). This, of course, is because of the development period. Even Chapter 2 feels different than 3-5, as the humor, music, and sprite work are more akin to 1's.

I'm not saying that what Chapter 5 brings to the table is bad (I found it fun), but it's just jarring to play Chapter 1 and 2's Undertalish vibes before playing the rest of game. I wish it felt more consistent and unified like Undertale did with three different routes.

Is there a Realistic Lost Episode Creepypasta?

I know that sounds like an oxymoron, and, without explanation, it is. But what I mean is a creepypasta that recounts a lost episode, but the episode's origins are more realistic than paranormal (e.g. one of those cartoonist vent drawings/storyboards or a television hijacking, etc.). Likewise, the lost episode isn't some intense gore-fest but is otherwise creepy.

Just curious to see if someone has tried to explain why the lost episode exists in a grounded way.

A family ruined my Backrooms Experience

I saw The Backrooms in theatres, and while I enjoyed it, I couldn't get immersed and experience the anxiety-inducing atmosphere because a family (and some friends) whispered and giggled the whole movie. One notable example was during a really trippy scene in the film: the Dad kept whispering loudly, "this is why you don't do drugs; this is why you don't do Marijuana" over and over again.

I don't know if I could ever experience the anxiety from the movie now that I know what happens. It sucks ngl.

I beat Half-Life 1 for the first time! Which game should I play next?

It was really fun, and I like a lot of it's combat. I guess my only two critiques are it's physics and final boss. The former aged horribly and the latter sucked. Overall, it's a great game! 8/10. Which game should I play next!

What Early Modern English word is this?

This word appears in Archbishop James Ussher's unpublished work "The Reduction of the Episcopacy." I'm trying to modernize this work, but I cannot figure out what this word is.

Here is the text it comes from if the image doesn't help: "Of the many Elders who in common thus ruled the Church of Ephesus, there was one President whom our Saviour in his Epistle to this Church in a peculiar manner, [???] the Angel of Ephesus."

Is the Once and Future King good? (No spoilers, please)

I want to get it, but I see reviews talking about how the author implements his critiques of society into his work, dragging out the story. Does that really affect the work in a negative way?

Chapter 6 could be a flashback

I know this sounds random and it probably isn't true, but it wouldn't be surprising if it is. With Chapter 5 setting up what happened in the Old dark world, the Fun Gang wondering if there was a hero during that time, and the Weird Route completely skipping Chapter 6 (not to mention an explicit mention of Dess' disappearance), it wouldn't be surprising if Chapter 6 would cover what happened to Dess and the Old Dark world.

Random idea, but I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Review of Chapter 5

Finished Chapter 5. Here are my thoughts.

I like the call backs to Chapter 1 (an underrated chapter in my opinion), I liked the return of hat Ralesi with a new flair of him being a jerk. The gameplay and visuals were peak.

But, other than those, the writing kind of sucked. I felt like Flowery was inconsistent—going from slapping happy villian akin to Queen—to a more serious type towards the end. Like, he's talking to Ralesi while he prays while the gang gets closer? Weird. The vibes of this chapter feel really weird coming off of Chapter 4: way too light-hearted. It's also weird Susie still treats this adventure with an air of fun and goes along with some bits when Undyne is in the bunker. There isn't any urgency (a problem chapter 4 has).

The best part about this chapter's writing is the weird route, it is really creepy. The visuals and audio, the disturbing ending, etc. are peak. But, I hate how we have to wait until Chapter 7 to see it conclude. Kinda sucks considering the Chaoter 5 Weird Route was the most anticipated thing for me.

Overall, the story did not progress and all we really did throughout the chapter was recreate a mini Undertale with the flowers—characters I personally thought were boring. Gameplay it's a 10/10, but overall I think it's a 5/10.

My ranking of the Chapters thus far:

  1. 4

  2. 2

  3. 1 or 3

  4. 3 or 1

  5. 5

I Live in WV where the Last Showbiz is and it feels like FNaF

Scott did a great job at emulating an 80s pizza palace.

The walls here are covered in children's drawings, posters, birthday banners, etc. The men's bathroom is missing a door for one stall so it has that dingy feel too.

Looking for a New Fictional Book

I just finished Project Hail Mary and I loved it. But, now I'm hungry for more fiction. I might try out the Martian (written by the same author as PHM), but I'd also like something from another author. But I don't know which books are good. I like sci-fi, fantasy (e.g., LOTR), action, mystery, and court dramas. I'd like a book written within the past 40 years. If you all know of any good books that meet these descriptions please let me know. Thanks!

Finished the book. It's amazing

I just now put down the book, and man, it made me emotional. Seeing Ryland's character growth, and his friendship with Rocky gave me hope. This story has become one of my all time favorites! It's like the Lord of the Rings of Sci-Fi!

What I especially love about the book is it's writing style. It describes things when needed but doesn't take too long in the process. Additionally, it explains science pretty well: I am not science guy, and I could grasp it. I also love how Ryland is a good—but flawed—man. He is kinda cowardly, but grows into heroism more and more, culminating in his (originally supposed) suicide mission to save Rocky.

Overall, the book is a 10/10 for me. I am so glad I watched the movie, otherwise I would have never found this gem of a book.
