Any big deals in September? Or just buy now?

I know they go on sale all the time, but was wondering if I should pull the trigger on the horizon pro this month or wait next month if a potential bigger sale comes. Anyone have any incite?

Anybody know a cheaper floor stand for the Horizon 20 pro that works well?

Do not want to shell out 100$ if I don’t have to, any alternatives that work well and won’t break the bank?

Is it true St.George Market in Belfast has rings like these?

I’ve been hunting for rings like this for years, old sovereign rings, star-set gypsy rings, signets, and they basically don’t exist in the US. We just don’t have the history you all do. From what I’ve been told online, St George’s Market is full of them. Total shot in the dark, but is there anyone local who’d be willing to pick a few out and ship them to the States?

I need some encouraging advice

The last thing I want is to get burnt out and loose it all. I am in debt, I am week 1 of two months of night shift would get me 12k out of debt and by October first I would be mostly free with weight lifted off my shoulders.

Last night I worked my first night shift I work 11pm-7am Sun-Thursday warm body security job doing rounds and loops for hours. I’m taking every single OT opportunity I can get. Last night they also made me work a double so it was my first 16 hour shift, I got there from 3pm and left at 7am. I was not mentally prepared as I wanted to first get acclimated to nights but the dude who was supposed to cover me ditched and I was pretty blown but I need the money.

I have a very very low maintenance morning job. I have around 1 meeting a day that’s at most an hour. If I get my work done the night before I don’t really have any meetings at all and it’s all remote.

I’m not sure if what I’m feeling right now, I want to quit but I’m unsure if it’s due to the night shift or working a 16 hour shift after being in day training for 5 days straight before with 1 hour of traffic. It’s only been day 1 but the feeling of being in debt and knowing it would take me over 8 months to pay this off and I’m in a unique situation with my day job motivates me.

I only slept 4 hours today but don’t feel tired? Like I couldn’t sleep more. Have to go in tonight at 11 then get off at 7 any words of encouragement? I am not new to shitty jobs I used to drive 1 hr and 30 min one way to work a 12 hour shift We’d- Sat but it wasn’t nights and it was only till I got a better job (8 months)

Comet Lighter “Watch”

I’d be lying if I said this was easy to come by. Legit had only seen one listing in the whole country.

[Comet Vintage Lighter “Watch”]

I had discovered this watch a week ago, did a lot of research and out of all the stuff I’ve bought online, this is the one piece I could not find a single listing for. It being foreign (In the US) and old didn’t help. Checked fb marketplace yesterday a nice lady in NJ was clearing her grandfathers stuff and said it had never been used before. Drove some hours and picked it up for 320$ (Not sure if it’s a good deal or not to be honest). I will be getting it to work soon can’t wait to rock it!

How is this for 200$?

This would be my first plant. I’d love to take care of it, 7-8ft money tree I have the light for it. My question is 200$ a fair price to pay? Owner was growing it for 6 years and out of respect wanted to honor that time & commitment somewhat, they are moving and she doesn’t want to damage it in the move. She originally had it for 350$, thanks! This is all really new to me.

Anyone work at WilmerHale in DC?

There's a role on WilmerHale's Information Services team in DC (Tech not legal side, I know I’m posting in the biglaw sub though, apologies) that's honestly my dream job. I know it's a big firm, but was curious if anyone here works there or knows the IS/tech side at all?

Would love to hear what the team and culture are actually like and any advice for someone trying to break in. It’s been a soul crushing 7 months, hope everyone is having a good Fourth of July in the US, thanks!

Wish me luck, starting night shift 11pm-7am then 5pm-5am on the weekends, plus my hybrid job in the AM.

I have a remote hybrid job that if I plan around is very manageable and easy to do. Currently 15k in the hole. With my first biweekly checks from my morning job and the night shift checks I’ll be debt free in 2 months. I’m not looking forward to genuinely not sleeping like a human (not sleeping at all really) and not being able to go out at all or live in society for two months. But the feeling of debt feels like I can’t even live my life anyways so whatever.

I start my second job within two weeks my head keeps playing scenarios about how awful this two months are going to be but genuinely cannot afford to drag this for months or years like some people.

Anybody else can’t find a job in the city?

Been a rough year and I’m starting to feel a little crazy about it. I do IT project management and I cannot land anything right now. Not sure if it’s the field or the fact that I don’t have a clearance, but it feels straight up impossible out here.

I know it’s bad everywhere, but is it hitting DC people harder? How’s everyone else doing? What are you actually seeing out there?

Not going to lie, it’s been messing with my head. Just trying to figure out if it’s me or if we’re all in the same boat.

Does anybody work in the Under Armor facility? How is it?

Just applied for an IT position. Under Armour is a dream company for me, when I was younger, Kevin came to speak at my school and really made me want to be part of something like it. Not sure what my chances are of landing a role like this, but I’m genuinely curious how it is to work there. It’s been a really brutal depressing job search and this seems like something I can do.

Can’t believe I got this for 18$

I made a post two days ago asking if anyone in my area saw this shelf for a good price. Drove 2 hours to pick it up and had some great food in the city. Shout out Reddit & my boy Scott. Can’t wait to add in some good wood and bring it back to life, was seriously considering paying 300$ something for it lol.
