Why do I feel shame when doing anything ever ??

It’s something about me I’ll never understand. I feel shame about everything I do. For instance I decided I’d start working out and be more active…my boyfriend is very athletic and even is a martial arts teacher. He said he would help me whenever I’m ready. But WHY do I work out in secret then ? Why am I working out as if it was the most illegal thing on earth and that NOBODY should be aware of it ?

It’s mostly like that with my loved ones. My friends, my parents, my boyfriend. I never open up to them because I feel immense shame. I don’t share the things I do because I feel shame. Hell, I once had a meltdown because my boyfriend had found a video of me on my phone. The irony is : I have no problem sharing things like that on the internet to tons of strangers, but the minute I have to be vulnerable with someone I know it feels like the end of the world.

I’ve been binge free for more than a month !

I’m really proud of myself. What completely changed is that i now live with my boyfriend in the countryside. We share the food and the expenses and the closest store is a 20min drive away. Now : I still eat big food quantities and I still have binge urges and they’re really BAD. I’d say I have food noise almost all day long. It’s hard. But damn I’m proud of myself and I hope It’ll keep going this way !

Slow progress

Very slow progress of getting back my hair density after years of losing it. (Literally and figuratively lmao)I’ve accepted that i maybe won’t be able to recover my former lucious thick hair I had as a kid and teen…but it’s okay. It’s still crazy how much my hair thins out at the ends. I’ll soon have a well deserved haircut !

Ballet and h-EDS ?

Hello,
It’s always been a dream of mine to do ballet. However I’ve been diagnosed with hEDS a year ago and i started to experience pain during flair ups and general exhaustion. Would ballet be too risky for hypermobile folks, considering the risk for injuries etc. I want to note that im an inexperienced adult, and I would do ballet recreationally. Thank you in advance !

Joli papillon

It’s getting really bad

I don’t know if this is a common experience. My whole life I didn’t know I had HEDS. I was experiencing pain sometimes, but very mildly and it didn’t affect my day to day life. It seems that it got worse all of a sudden, in just under a year, when I started working last September. My job involved me walking a lot, rarely sitting down. I could ignore the pain, the dizziness sometimes. But some other times not. I started experiencing pain I had never felt like in my shoulders, my fingers, my wrists. Now I feel like I got run over by a train every time I do a slight physical effort. I’m so extremely exhausted. Sometimes I don’t have strength in my fingers to hold stuff. I have to lay down all the time and I feel like a burden to my boyfriend. I feel so lazy and useless. Sometimes I feel like I’m faking it or i exaggerate the way I feel. That just sucks and I hate being such a burden.
