Greenland is not part of the EU, despite forming the Kingdom of Denmark together with EU member continental Denmark and the Faroe Islands. So, technically, Greenland and continental Denmark have equal status as constituent parts of the same Kingdom of Denmark, much like Scotland and England within the UK. Yet continental Denmark is an EU member state, while Greenland is not part of the EU. By that same logic, could Scotland use the Danish example to rejoin the EU without leaving the United Kingdom?

How would you describe Tajikistan’s current relations with its four Turkic Central Asian neighbors? Given that Tajikistan is the only non-Turkic state in Central Asia (if we don’t count Afghanistan as part of Central Asia), it kind of stands out from all the rest.

Tbh, I never understood how another country can dictate the name of its neighboring country. It just makes no sense to me why a sovereign country can’t decide its own name.

I find it interesting that, despite the Americas being directly across the Pacific from Japan, no major Japanese, Chinese, or other East Asian maritime power reached and settled in the Americas before the Europeans, even considering the enormous distance involved. Japan in particular was a highly capable maritime nation historically, so why did the Japanese or other East Asians never discover the Americas first? Were there any failed attempts to find new continents across the Pacific? What geographical, technological, political, and historical factors explain why the Americas were ultimately explored and colonized by Europeans rather than East Asians?

I’m curious to hear what Armenian people generally think about Turkey and Turkish people. What comes to mind when you think of Turkey? Do you have any positive or negative impressions, stereotypes, or experiences with Turkish people?

What kind of image or impression does Turkey have in Romania? Is it a country you’re familiar with, and what usually comes to mind when you think of Turkey or Turks?

Switching Tajik from Cyrillic to the Latin alphabet could have several practical advantages. It would make learning English and other languages that use the Latin script easier, improve access to international information and technology, and make it easier for Tajiks to communicate and interact with the rest of the world. It could also bring Tajikistan closer to the broader trend of Latinization in Central Asia while preserving the Tajik language itself.

I'm curious about how people in Tajikistan generally view Turkish people and Turkey. What is the common perception of Turks among Tajiks, and how do Tajiks see the relationship between Tajikistan and Turkey?
