Update to the Sub: Sponsored reviews
Hello all!
It's been a while since me & u/brunoxid0 reopened the sub for everyone to have a great place to discuss our love for DAPs, and so far the community is thriving more than ever before it was left unmoderated!
Although we're not perfect and many posts slips through the cracks, spam bots are pretty much eliminated, more users are naming their hardware when making posts and Ai generated content is kept to a minimum. (we're also mods for r/SBCGaming so our time is split, if you like to help out the mod team, send us a mod mail!).
In the past couple months, we've noticed a new issue arrived where many users are left wondering rather or not a review post is sponsored or so we're implementing a new rule:
"A sponsored review is an evaluation of a product or service where the creator or publisher receives financial payment, free items, or other perks from a brand in exchange for coverage.
therefore, Your post will be removed if you fail to add the proper disclosures. Every sponsored review must contain the proper flair and brand affiliate tag."
What does this mean?
- Any review that fits the above mentioned Criterias must contain the "sponsored review" flair
- A clear, proper disclosure at the start of your post is required.
- the post must also be mark as "Brand affiliate" (even if you're not directly affiliated with the brand and they just send you a product for a one off review)
- Ordinary review post with products bought with your own funds may continue to use the regular "Review" flair.
- Any post made before this one will remain unaffected, but will have to follow the guidelines in the future.
We hope this change can better help users distinguish the difference between a regular review and a sponsored one.
Sega of America's Phantasy Star fan Art contest entries
In the Summer of 2010 the 'Sega Of America' Flickr account hosted a fan art competition for a chance to win a copy of the freshly released Phantasy Star Portable 2:
"For two weeks, we challenged Phantasy Star fans to create a design for a chance to get their art included in the game! In this album, we've included all of the acceptable entries that were sent to us!"
User could submit fan of any any Phantasy games from the original series, online and universe. Here are some of the entries.

Press Release Documents for phantasy Star Portable
Phantasy Star Portable was released 18 years ago today on July 31st, while I couldn't find any Japanese press release, here's the press release documentations for the western/European releases for PSP & PSP2.
Chelsea will be your server Tonight.
Our favorite Little Wing secretary shows us that she's more than just a jolie face. Her former AMF days are shown in full display with her "Tour de Force" SUV technique.
Phantasy Star Portable 2 opening...With a twist of infinity.
Wanted to do something special rather than simply post the last two opening sequences we got in the PSU series with PSP2 & PSP2i.
Revisiting the series with you all through these posts has been a great pleasure and what better way to end off looking back at the intro songs by combining the 2!
Big shoutouts to vocalist Aimee Blackschleger, with vocals by Tahirih Walker for the based PSP2 intro and vocalist Annette Marie Cotrill for PSP2I. Both composed by Hideaki Kobayashi.

Rare PSU item: PSU Chronicles UMD video
Promotional video disc that was included in some early Japanese copies of Phantasy Star Portable. This disc included cinematic recap highlights of key episode events the player would need to know from PSU before jumping into PSP.
The original Phantasy Star Portable takes place somewhere between episodes episodes 1 and 2 of Phantasy Star universe and Ambition of the Illuminus episode 2 Directly follows the Portable storyline.
Brutally honest Y2 review.
One of the Better Y2 reviews out there if you're seriously thinking about picking one up.
