Rigged & animated Triceratops, PS1-style low-poly

My asset pack has a new creature!

This is a fully rigged and animated Triceratops, the second creature after a T-Rex I made in the same

style.

Animations: Idle, Walk, Run, Roar, Attack, Drink Water.

Happy to talk shop about getting the PS1 aesthetic right if anyone's

working on something similar

(It's also up on itch.io if anyone's curious to poke at it, but mostly just

wanted to share the look here) https://f2026.itch.io/triceratops

Low-poly Triceratops — Godot demo scene included

Just finished the second creature in my low-poly prehistoric series.

A fully rigged and animated Triceratops to go alongside the T-Rex.

6 animations: Idle, Walk, Run, Roar, Attack, Drink Water.

Delivered in .FBX and .GLB, plus a ready-to-use Godot Engine demo scene with a character

controller and animation setup already wired up.

(Heads up — the environment in the trailer isn't included with the asset,

it's a separate free download if anyone wants to build the same scene)

Full thing's up on itch.io if anyone wants to take a closer look:

Happy to talk through the rigging/animation setup if useful to anyone working on something similar.

Learned some fun stuff animating my Triceratops rig 🦕

A few things that clicked for me while working on this:

  • NLA is a game changer. Once I had walk/idle/roar as separate actions, pushing them into the NLA editor made everything way easier to organize instead of juggling one messy Action strip.
  • Ctrl+Space to isolate a viewport. Small thing but very useful to see your full viewport without closing the other windows.
  • Graph Editor modifiers are slept on. Threw a Noise modifier on a few bones for a subtle idle shake/breathing effect — no hand-keying needed.

Still learning animation. Any feedback is welcome!

My first GAME JAM as animator

I've never animated a character with 4 legs, and I had to animate a character with 8 legs in one day!

This is what I could achieve in just one day.

Animations:

  • idle
  • walk
  • basic attack
  • boss attack

Testing Godot 4.7's AnimationTree for my T.rex asset

I hooked up the new animations for my T.rex using Godot's AnimationTree.

I also added a movement and camera-orbit system to test the animal in motion.

My boss spiders 3D animation for a Game Jam

I HAD NEVER animated a 4-legged creature before.

And then I had to animate an 8-legged creature in a single day!

This was the result.
