Wasn't sure what to tag this as it pertains to some Kwami OC's, but anwyas. The idea was that these OC's wanted to be individuals and to exist outside of their concept, and because they don't understand humans they default to self-indulgence/hedonism because it's what gives them the most pleasure. They're Kwami's who've gone rouge

I know there isn't precedent for this in show, I think Tikki outright de-confirms this when she says Kwami can't fall in love ^((I presume this means Kwami can't grow as characters)). But I want to consider the possibility and implications if this could be the case. What would it mean for a concept to self-actualise?

Anyways, a couple days ago I posted how I didn't want my OC's having powers in the "other world" they explore in fear of ripping off Persona too much, but I've caved and decided to give them powers ^((inspired by the neon light effects in the "No Money" music video)). I have powers for Saint-Jones, Tyra and Alec, who are the three middle characters - that being astral projection, wall constructs and healing respectfully. I however got nothing for Dante and Oliver

The way the powers work is like how the mental dimensions - called Dreamworlds - are physical manifestations of peoples mind, the powers are the manifestations while inside another mind. ^((i.e. you don't have powers while within your own head)). By association, they reflect parts of who the character is

• Oliver's struggle first and foremost how his parents treats his disability as something that isn't important, it makes him feel neglected and which causes bursts of anger at school, making others avoid him and exacerbating his fear of being unloved. I considered giving fire powers to him, but I thought since Olivers also a burn victim it'd be a really lazy decision ^((this becomes a pattern)) and a disservice to his character
• Dante views their coping mechanisms as an indictment of their character as a disgusting person, which to protect themself from being hurt again they act antisocial to keep others away, which feeds back into their belief of feeling immoral. Like Oliver, I've been considering fire or explosive powers to represent their "desires", but I also feel this is lazy symbolism

Throughline is, I think fire powers are overrated and I want to use more creative symbolism, but I also have no ideas

EDIT: I was doing some thinking; I've decided to give Dante wave emissions ^((sonic blasts basically)) to help extenuate their loud personality, and Oliver control over storms ^((electricity, rain, wind and hail)) to represent his struggle with emotional regulation

I’m aware this is a very specific question, but I want to find mythological figures that represent my characters (in a Persona sorts of way). The only person that I know of who kinda meets these requirements is Mother Teresa, but she’s also a bit too close to the modern day for my liking

I watched this really good Persona analysis exploring Joker’s awakening >! Satanael !< in religious comparison to >! Yaldebaoth and Maruki !< and it’s got me thinking about the structure each party member goes through with their social links

They start with a thief, which when maxxing out their social link turns them into a mythological trickster, only for them to fall back on their thiefhood by referencing the the origins of their base persona’s. I think this is a really interesting way to communicate the Phantom Thiefs arc about loosing sight of their goals

They begin as distrupters to the status quo, but as they continue to reach notoriety they aesthetically align themselves with >! Yaldebaoth !< by evolving their persona’s to that of godhood. It’s only when they reach third semester and are forced to face reality is when they’re able to find their truths again

I’m on 1/30 and I’ve completed all the social links I want to invest in, I got perfect social stats, my teammates are all 99, and I’ve completed all the quests up to this point. I don’t exactly have much to do besides becoming a gym bro, so I was wondering if there was anything else to do before fighting >!Maruki!<

Conceptually old, the idea was that they were outed as Mastermind half way through the game, voted off and replaced by another student. Doesn’t exactly lend well to a mystery but I thought it was narratively interesting at the time

For lore reasons, the killing games are held annually, and Lucky Students are civilians who enter a ballot and offer to manage the games. This games Lucky Student starts to slip up after a storm washes up the boat captain who brought the Ultimates onto the island, whose mind wasn’t wiped for the game, and by the time of Chapter 3 she’s fumbled so hard she’s been discovered by the Ultimate Butler

He decides mid trial to kill another student, get all the votes, and uses his immunity motive perk to vote off the Mastermind. Cuz she wasn’t supposed to get executed, she suffers the unused executions of all the previous murder victims

The Butler then fills the power vacuum bcuz he’s sick and tired of the other Ultimates hating him for doing his job, which involved being an accomplice to every murder

I’m considering making a glmm, and I just need ideas of how to subvert stereotypical plots - I feel it’ll require less energy to subvert things than to write an entirely new plot

I harbour no ill-will against him because in the end it's just his opinion of a movie, but I also don't exactly have anybody to talk about this and It's been lingering in my mind for some reason

We came back a couple hours ago, I thought it was an ok film - I thought it was interesting as an exploration of wartime trauma (if that makes sense) - but he didn't like it. I later reasoned it's because he probably thought it was gonna be more like a "war movie" - a film that glamourises military violence - and I told him my interpretation of his disappointment. I later asked him his opinion on the film 300 and he said he loved it, and he just finished watching Troy 2004, so I feel my assessment was correct

In the same conversation I told him my interpretation, he was looking up the original story and mentioned how he would've wanted to watch the Laestrygonians be cannibals more than them being armour plated soldiers. I think that's the comment which keeps bugging me, I'm left wondering what image of "cannibals" he was imagining when he said that

I can't say much on my knowledge for P3 and if they utilise unique cards, but I know Persona 4 uses Aeon, Jester and Hunger for social links, which originate from different Tarot decks. I think this trend is also continued into P5 with the Faith, Councillor, Apostle and Hope Arcana

My question is what other deck variations would make sense for what we know of P6 so far? I'm looking into the Thoth tarot atm, specifically towards Adjustment and Art (which I think replace Justice and Temperance)

Would've been published before 2019, when I was last in primary school. It was a square picture book, the cover was dark blue/black with a depiction of the earth in the middle, I believe it had white text. It was about a collection of colourful elemental spirits creating the Earth. The designs of the spirits (that's the best word I can come up with) remind me of the Crash Bandicoot masks, they represented stuff like Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, Nature, I think there was one for Animals too? Every page introduced a spirit, and the subsequent one would show an landscape/showing their power and contribution. The artstyle was very abstract and I think geometrical, and had an oil pastel or chalky texture

It was not a religious/christian book for children. Every time I try and search for this book, that's all I get. That or Elemental from Pixar, which is also not what I'm looking for

This is the second time I’ve lost to Mitsuo, so I’m looking for some advice going forward. My team is:

• level 38 Yu (anglaise, doumaru, snow vow) I’m using a level 33 King Frost, but I also have a 36 Mothman

• level 37 Yosuke (hunting nata, lion happi, crow charm) with Garu, Power Slash, Dia, Magaru, Garula, Tentrafoo, Sonic Punch and Auto-Sukukaja. I’m using Yosuke as a general attacker

• level 37 Yukiko (akisame fan, miori shirt, fire vow) with Musoon, Diarama, Amrita, Maragi, Media, Agilao, Recarm and Divine Grace. I’ve also maxed out her social link, and use her as my primary healer

• level 38 Kanji (thunder plate, doumaru, land badge) with Mazio, Zionga, Power Chargw, Cruel Attack, Regenerate 1, Dizzy Boost, Elec Boost and Fatal End. He’s my heavy hitter

I’m open to swapping out Yosuke with Teddie if my team needs more support, but I’d need to train him up a bit

I just bought Persona 4 and am waiting on the download, it's my first game in the series so I'm not exactly sure which links I should prioritise - I presume I can't invest in all of them. If you have any other tips before I start, that'd also be appreciated

(At the least, I'm aware I need to complete Marie's social link since it's needed for the good ending)
