I've been using one of these for years and it always surprises me at the people that have never used one. If you shoot a lot especially competition, you definitely need to give one of these a try.
Saves you so much time at the range. As a matter of fact, if mine were to get damaged I would buy another one immediately.
Now, I should have Glock 45 in competition and they work outstanding with Glock magazines. I cannot confirm if they work good with all double stack magazines or not so just be aware of that.
I've got an IDPA match tomorrow. There's a distinguished master that I always squad up with and I'm usually right behind him. I'm hoping to smoke his tail tomorrow but we will see LOL.
I spent my career as a Firearms instructor and managing recoil is one of the hardest things to teach people. Why? Because it's not something you can do by moving the placement of somebody's hands. It's usually a psychological thing that they have to overcome.
Having said that, what I have found is that the bill drill absolutely fixes that and I think it's because the more people shoot really fast, they just get more familiar with the recoil and don't worry about it anymore.
If you don't know how to conduct the bill drill. It's pretty easy. 6 rounds center mass of a silhouette as fast as you can pull the trigger from seven yards.
You have to be honest with yourself though. Keep the rounds as close together as possible and don't just spray the target. If you feel like this is too hard then moving in to about 3 yards. After that you can work your way back.
Unfortunately, I think recoil management is one of the few techniques that cannot be fixed with dry fire. Some people may say you can but as somebody who literally worked as a professional Firearms instructor, I've never seen dry fire fix anybody's recoil management.
When I was a kid, I loved seeing some old veteran carrying a 1911 with custom service grips.
I even ordered a set of grips with the eagle, globe and anchor for my 1911.
However, I don't see anybody posting grips like that on here.
Some of the youngsters at the club might call me old and they might call me a Fudd but they'll never call me a bad shot 😉.
For you guys making the good looking videos on the insta360 go, what settings do you use to get the best shooting footage? Thank you in advance.
Also, have you found any of the AI editing settings to be useful?
Some of you guys that have purchased aftermarket slides on ebay, tell me when you purchased and you really liked at a good price.
If you guys aren't familiar, there's classifications during each match. After your first match, you get a classification based on your percentage. I think that's so awesome not to have to pay an extra fee and show up to a qualifier specific match.
The target pastors that my club uses for matches do not match the target. Way too light. However, I've been at other clubs where the target pastors blend right in with the cardboard.
I was wondering what brand they are using? Which Target pasters do you guys think blend in the best with cardboard targets?
I typically shoot a gen 4 but I recently got this gen 6. I took it out today and practiced some splits and some draws. Trigger not broken as much as I would like it but I still think I'm going to take it to this weekend's match.
If you don't reload, this probably makes no sense to you but if you're reload, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
Have you ever thought about how many ridiculous handgun cartridges out there just don't need to exist? They are so similar to other handgun cartridges that it makes no sense to even produce them.
You can look through a reloading guide and look at a lot of the FPS and muzzle velocity from many different handgun cartridges and it just makes no sense to me why they are on the market.
