Has anyone here ever been in a speeding car before? I have a couple of times and for each time never went in their car again if they were offering lifts.
But this situation was the most dangerous I've ever been in.
Long story short, I was in my sister in law boyfriend's car he offered me a lift to Wetherspoon's. I've never seen him drive before, but he seemed like a nice enough lad so I thought why not and got in the back. The moment he started revving up the engine before pulling out I knew this would be trouble. Went off to a single track country road and he was doing about 80 mp/h peak 90 mp/h most of the way there. Around bends with poor visibility still doing about 60 mp/h and tokyo drifting on the way. Absolutely dreadful experience and I was in a brace position the whole time waiting for him to lose control or slam the brakes for an oncoming vehicle.
To make matters worse he started drinking when we were there and said it was fine to drop me off because my house isn't too far from here. I declined his offer and they got back inside the car while he had alcohol in his system. Stupid lad, but I should of known better than to get in a teenagers car.
God of War E Day is yet another example of terribly long shader compile times on UE5 and the trend will only continue as more and more games start to adopt it. There's already many videos that showed older CPU's with less threads and slower threads taking 20 to 30 MINUTES to compile shaders before playing the game. And remember every game patch or update you have to recompile them again! Enshrouded was the worst offender for this and still is.
Now an interesting thought sprung to mind about this whole shader compile time mess we find ourselves in. Intel could advertise the heck out of their CPU gaming division in showing how their massive core counts can greatly reduce shader compile times in games vs Ryzen in terms of price to performance core ratio you get with them.
I know it probably won't happen but if I were there I'd be having a field day marketing this and mocking AMD shader compile times in benchmark comparisons.
I seen AC Valhalla Complete Edition recently went on sale on Steam. I'm also in the middle of playing AC Odyssey which I bought the ultimate edition for.
I'm pretty much hooked on Valhalla and loving it already. I think I just much prefer the time period and viking aesthetic over the Greek style in Odyssey. I love and still play games like Skyrim as well so I suppose it sort of makes sense.
I know this game was and probably still gets mixed reactions from the AC fandom, but for me it's a really fun action RPG game to play. The animations, graphics, cosmetics, and general atmosphere just is so pleasing.
Anyone here still play Valhalla or also bought it on sale. What are your thoughts?

Any good animation mods or packs that I can use to improve Skyrim's animations? Ideally something that replaces everything so - idle, run, and combat so it looks more modern?
Another question I'll add on to this is I notice many animation mods require you to install precision mod. My issue with that is exactly what the mod does and it makes it so I miss enemies most of the time when trying to hit them in third person. Is the mod even needed? I find it especially annoying in caves.
On Vortex, is simply removing and then uninstalling a mod you no longer have a need for enough? I was told there can still be leftover files in the games directory or my games skyrim section under documents that still leave behind things that could conflict with a future install that does similar things.
How correct is this and is simply removing then uninstalling all I have to do? I know I'd need to start a new save as well it most cases.
I'm concerned my RTX 4070 which I've had since 2023 is having some problems. Like for instance now I'm starting to get an issue where my screen will stay on but not show a display despite hearing audio and I constantly hear the Windows display driver disconnect. So I hard reboot the system to get it back. Or before I used to have my old PC hard lock during games from a failing motherboard which killed my CPU and I'm worried it also damaged my GPU.
With the price of everything expected to go up I am wondering if I should not risk it and just buy the RTX 5070 while it is still a reasonable price and then sell my 4070 just in case it does decide to go out on me during price hikes?
I'm looking for RPG recommendations that really focus on player freedom and meaningful progression.
Some of my favourite games are Skyrim, Bannerlord, Fallout 4, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Diablo 4, and Valheim. They're all quite different, but they all scratch the same itch.
What I enjoy most is having the freedom to choose what to do while feeling like almost everything has a purpose. If I explore a cave, I want to find worthwhile loot, a merchant, a quest, resources, or something that genuinely improves my character. I don't enjoy open worlds that are huge but mostly empty I felt this way about Red Dead Redemption 2.
I also love starting with nothing and gradually becoming powerful. Whether it's better gear, skill trees, new abilities, crafting, building, earning money, or unlocking cosmetics, I want every play session to feel like I've made meaningful progress.
Story isn't a huge priority for me. Once I've experienced it, I'm far more interested in a satisfying gameplay loop with quests, progression, character customisation, and rewarding exploration that keeps me coming back.
One other thing that's important is that the game is third-person, or at least has the option to play in third-person. I enjoy seeing my character, especially when I've spent time customising their appearance.
Based on that, what RPGs would you recommend?
Intakes on the bottom of the case?? Never seen this before. Maybe that big box on the side is the intake?
What games do you enjoy playing despite them not having a high rating on steam or being the most highly rated among their respective audience?
For me that game is Ghost Recon Breakpoint which I feel is a very fun and immersive 3rd person shooter to play. It seems since all the updates it's almost the perfect game.
For those of you still experiencing the occasional stutter or fps drop in state of decay 2 I found the culprit graphic setting.
It's the world level detail graphic setting. After setting this from ultra to medium it seems to have improved frame stability. This only effects world detail render distance not zombie render distance which is hard coded.
I'm currently in the exploration age and my happiness was sitting a comfortable 200 in total I decided to prepare for war and got all my military in position. I did make the mistake of doing a surprise war rather than denouncing them first and doing a formal war like I normally would.
Happiness did dip but it was manageable, so I thought I was all good. As turns progressed, my happiness dropped further and further to the point where I am at 30 total happiness and my capital city and other 2 cities that I have are at negative 40 happiness each with no way for me to recover.
I try to propose peace, but the AI refuses. I then try to decrease my war weariness penalties but I quickly run out of diplomacy points and it goes back up again.
What do I do in this situation and how can I recover? I am tempted to give up and start a new game. Is surprise war really this punishing?
I tried to think maybe I've also built too many quarters / districts that consume happiness without enough entertainment to keep it balanced? Should I give up cities I've conquered to try and get immediate peace and free up problematic cities that consume happiness?
Need some general help and pointers here so I can learn from my mistakes.
To disclose, I had been active on this subreddit years ago on a different account when I was 21 - to 23. Talking about my experiences with escorts and helping advise guy's that were thinking of going a similar route to help improve their chances of having a good first time experience.
During that stage in my life I was a virgin like many here, and felt hopeless. I tried dating apps and talking to women and feeling like it was an impossibility to meet someone. I thought long and hard about using escort services and getting it over with and took the plunge after extensive research of my own.
In that time I met 8 different escorts on a popular escort site that is used here in the UK. One of which I had met twice, and she was probably my favourite experience just because of how well we got on with each other. And generally I'd be sleeping with older escorts in their late twenties to early thirties.
With each visit and positive experience my confidence around women also grew. And after my 8th visit, I decided it's time to put an effort into dating again. Made a dating profile, spent a lot of time making a short but funny bio. Updated all my photographs and included pictures of things I own and do.
Likes were still coming in slow, but I was getting WAY more than I did before and paid for gold to see who matched with me. This is where I eventually met my now girlfriend of nearly 3 years and I am so glad I put all this effort in and met her.
And yes, I have no urge anymore to see escorts and deleted my account to even remove the possibility and making another easy booking.
It does get awkward on the few occasions we talk about body counts. I have to fabricate it a bit, but unless she pushes for the details I don't think she is all that bothered about past sexual life.
I had my clinic tests and things done and all came back clear for any wondering.
Feel free to ask me any further questions.
What are the go to mementos for a domination victory? The extra social policy slot and additional military point? What are your go to for a domination victory?
