Activities/What to do

I’m doing a North American tour and stop 1 is in Mexico City, and I’d like some ideas on what to do from June 10th- June 14th I leave June 15th

Day 1- June 10th- Don’t know what to do, I arrive at 1pm, let’s assume getting to the hotel and checking in I will be free around 4pm, what can I do to not waste this day

Day 2- June 11th I have tickets to the World Cup so I know what I’ll be doing, and later in the day WHEN Mexico wins I’ll be there to celebrate on the town.

Day 3- June 12th- already have plans to do a bus tour of Mexico City. I did this bus tour as a kid.

Day 4- June 13th- Going to see the infamous Mexican panda with my family, and then we will see a movie (distant family lives in Mexico City) I am from the US. I will be free around 6pm onwards

Day 5- June 14th- have absolutely no idea what to do, I was considering Six flags, but should i merge that with day 3, because I’ve done this tour bus before and it does pass it. Also as for six flags I am on the heavier side like 275 pounds, will I fit on any of the rides?

I don’t really have any plans for the night, so any ideas how to maximize my trip, what type of food vendors you recommend or clubs? I’ve only visited Mexico City as kid, this will be my first time as an adult, I’m also a huge boxing fan, so any boxing activities?

Purchase power??

Ok I’m OFFICIALLY confused. For the third year in a row, (I use stubhub mainly for big concert event) anyways for the third year in a row, AFTER I make a purchase, they automatically increase my purchase power, not after making payments (which I make on time) never after a completed payment plan, always after I start a new plan.

An example my purchase power was $800 last year, after spending $700 , they gave me $1400 purchase power, which eventually increased to $1900, then back down to $600 after the payment plan was completed. Now here why I’m ranting, the concert tickets I bought TODAY! Were like $725 and I still only had $600 purchase power, so I had to settle for less quality seats, NOW I open up the app and it says I have $950 buying power 💀😑. What gives??

Concensus/Rant

“You aren’t being financially responsible with your money” I feel like that’s the punchline to our current housing situation, people who make $60,000 or below, it is recommended they live at home with their parents, and I just wanna know how we got here?? I feel like from the 70’s-90’s it was you should buy a home (which was more attainable then) or you weren’t financially responsible, then it was “why buy when you can rent” that was the punchline, now minimum wage earners can’t even afford a one bedroom!! How did we get here!? Where was the shift change?

My story- turn 18 the VERY beginning of COVID, worked a little over minimum wage job, paid for a room for $2000 in a 2 bedroom and I never looked back, moved out the month after I turned 18…. I don’t think I could do this if I turned 18 today. And now I make $80,000 pay $2800 for a 1 bedroom and I genuinely feel like I CANNOT move!? I mean I want to, but I just can’t, what the hell is this Economy and why is it like this?? What did I miss?

Time?? What scene/arc is the most unbelievable

From Walt getting to humiliated by washing his students car, to when he goes on that little rant about how about Victor “he took liberties that weren’t his” this right here is apparently one whole year. So I wanna know which scene/arc/plot-point feels like the the timeline alone should almost take a year, and just feel so unbelievable.

For me would probably have to be the Tuco arc/episodes when Walt says “just grow some fucking balls” I feel like that amount of character building alone must have taken 2 months minimum. Also given that Tuco existed in the prequel BCS, is it really believable how easy his downfall is in breaking bad?? Perhaps also thinking about Gus, it took under a year for Gus to come begging Walt to come work for him, then die, then have a whole new operation set up, all in UNDER A YEAR. Another park would be Hanks recovery time, just how much time was he in that wheel chair?

What are your thoughts?

Anyone use RiderShare?

Anyone here have ACTUAL experience using RiderShare? Someone in this sub recommended it to me, and yet they NEVER used it?? How can you recommend something like that, for all I know it could be a scam. In the event it’s real, is it like enterprise, is a deposit required or not?

Average Apartment turnover?

Some here may recognize me 😅, but today I have a question, what’s the average turnover rate for renting an apartment. I found my dream apartment 1 year ago for $2800 while only making $80,000, and ngl it’s been a great experience, made quite a few memories, but the experience is certainly not worth it for the price/problems I’m experiencing. So I would like to know how often New Yorkers (city) change apartments? Mind you I’m still early 20’s not a nepo baby (actually I make more than my parents) so is my desire to change apartments just entitlement for is this common for New Yorkers?

For reference my first apartment was a 2 Bedroom $4000 Loft, and it was my DREAM apartment, an actual laundry room in the apartment, a huge balcony, that lasted 5 year (roommate situation) 4 roommates total, the last 2 roommates were HORRIBLE, they were so bad it made me never want to do roommates ever again. My current apartment is apartment number 2, and although it’s aesthetically pleasing and close to work, I don’t really justify paying over half my income. In my perfect world I would buy a condo of the same quality, but I unfortunately can’t afford a condo of that quality 🥲. So where do I draw the line, because all it feels like is I’m paying someone else’s mortgage and their taxes.

I’m in a bit of a pickle, my job has multiple locations throughout Brooklyn, my current one is in my neighborhood (Bay ridge) and pays ($70,000) that is either a 10 minute walk from me, or 3 minute bus/citibike from me. Option 2 would be our location in Greenpoint, 40 minutes away on a good day, and 1 hour away on a bad day. I don’t think I’d be able to Citibike there in my work clothes, so bus or train, also this location pays $80,000. For reference I worked here last year (primarily because I lived closer to here) I only made an extra $4500 after taxes according to my w-2’s, what would you do? For context, I could leave my house 10 minutes before my work schedule and still arrive with time to spare. Would you take the extra money, or peace of mind. One small difference in terms of responsibilities, the bay ridge location is fully staffed so more the work is divided the less I do, our Greenpoint location the boss is kinda a tool, so everyone keeps quitting or asking to transfer (including me 😅) the bay ridge boss is only 20% less toxic, so I don’t really see a difference. Any thoughts?

Perhaps the craziest/funniest layover ever, I will be doing the World Cup Tour in a few weeks, Mexico, Canada and then back here (I’m from NYC). However while leaving from Mexico to go to Canada, there will be an 11 hour layover in NYC, I believe I land around 9:30.

What are my options? My apartment is 1 hour and 30 minutes from JFK, what the exit time situation like (aka once I arrive how long till I’m out of the airport? Also can I check my bag at the airport? How does that work? Also should I just biff it, call it a day go home and sleep? Or should I get my moneys worth and pull an all nighter “the city that never sleeps right? Or should Kevin McAllister it, and wonder around the airport, I have an AMEX platinum, what’s the centurion lounge situation like?

So I as an avid angel point rider see one major flaw in the system. For context I use the angel point solely for riding my bike to and from work, about 10 minutes in each direction , so 100 minutes a week (ebike of course). So the major flaw I see, is e-bike distribution… the reason I don’t distribute them evenly is due to the fact, I need to waste ebike points in order to gain points, but moving it from one location to the other, given traffic plus any other inconveniences, I lose more ebike time than I gain. Not only that, my work neighborhood in particular flooded with e-bikes, I can literally count how many open parking spots…. 6…. Out of about 24 STATIONS!! So in reality it creates 2 problems, less open spots and less e-bikes in certain areas.

The fix up- The way I would fix it, in the app there should be a commitment service for E-bikes, they temporarily let you use the ebike at full assist, to get it to an empty doc. With a time limit. That way regular users of e-bikes can have more at there local stations, Citibike saves money in hiring movers, plus gains more if e-bikes are located at popular locations, and the angel rider gets to do a public service plus gets some ebike points…. To quote Micheal Scott “Win, Win, Win”. Do you Citibike could implement something like this?

In Regards to the GIF I use Citibike to get to work because it’s quick and fast, but what’s the point of getting there quick if there is nowhere around to dock.

The title- There’s a dock near apartment and by my job, both in bay ridge. It would be way too perfect if our schedules synced so perfectly, so it would require a 3 way type of coordination, if the dock near you is near my job, we could coordinate, and I would take a bike from that dock when I leave work, the hand washes the glove type situation
