everytime i listen to ethel, i imagine this specific portrait of virginia woolf. i feel like she would’ve looked EXACTLY like this, thoughts??? do you associate any other figure with ethel’s art and character?
my sims have a pregnancy per year because i feel as though i simply cannot afford to wait longer. i’ve had horrible luck with my main family. my gen1 heir had 16 children and 3 surviving (one is currently a toddler) and out of the 13 deaths, only 3 were from the famine.
nearly everyone from gen1 has died and we were left with only 3 boys (including side households) one of which will never have kids. however, the other has 12 baby tries. he’s got 5 years til he ages up to YA and he’s also second in line so 😭😭 i’d love to space out the babies but i’m so scareddddddddd!
i feel like this is mainly an issue with my main household though because i’m constantly having multiple infants and it’s driving me mad haha
i decided to spend the night at one of my side households as my main had too many infants for me to handle. during the night i got a notification that my main household’s wife was in labour so i went over to make her give birth, etc, etc. when i arrived there were already two babies so i assumed she had just given birth before i could arrive or something. WRONG! then all of a sudden a third was born?? the twins are nowhere in the family tree and my sims did not have any relationship with them so i made my heir cuddle one and it confirmed that they’re not related?! what do i do now 😭😭 they’re not even adopted they just SPAWNED. i’ve already rolled for them and they survived, do i just pretend they’re triplets and add some relationship with mccc or?? they’re girls so they won’t be inheriting anything anyway. or if not what kind of storyline should i come up with and what should i do
i like doing a cheeky little photoshoot every 5 years or so. i originally wanted to update you guys on my family tree but it’s just gotten so big so who you’re seeing currently are the survivors of the famine & the bruce campaign! might as well do a bit of an introduction + background explanation!
i originally started with Orla & Ronan O’Ronan as gen 0 and their three sons— Seamus (main) , Eamon and Torin. Ronan died on the first day so we won’t be seeing none of him here.
anyway, we’ve got the main household on the left which consists of:

-Niall O’Ronan (gen2’s brother)

-Dorothy O’Ronan (gen2’s half-sister)
- Caitlin O’Ronan (gen2’s youngest daughter)
-Carlin O’Ronan (gen2’s wife)

-Cathal O’Ronan (gen3 heir!)
-Catriona O’Ronan(gen2’s daughter)
after which we’ve got our third son Torin’s daughters and their children:

Unfortunately, both are widowed. Tara is even double widowed. Fun fact, Tara’s first husband and the father of both surviving children is actually Carlin’s brother!

my oldest known ancestor was born in the mid to late 1800s. i’ve got no information on him other than his name and that he abandoned his baby after his wife died during childbirth.
i keep stumbling across posts of americans talking about their ancestors who lived in the 1600s and i really wished i could find more information about mine. i don’t know how to really look up records but i also don’t know if there are any.

i just wanna vent how my heir is ugly tbh. anyway, cian rolled to die during the second year of the famine. he already had one dead son and a pregnant wife. the grim usually never listens to my sims’ pleas so i just made carlin plead for a cute screenshot…but cian ended up being revived which i suppose was nice because the bloodline and especially the family name is at quite a huge risk i’d say. anyway, cian is obviously ugly but carlin is so hot so i thought her genetics would make the situation a bit better…WRONG. you guys, the child looks evil. i don’t wanna like completely change the genetics but will this be fixable by cc? as you can see, my sims don’t have cc except some hairs and clothes and even then i literally have 1 dress for females and like 2 things for men/male children. i dress all my infants and toddlers in these gowns. i also don’t even have much cc hair. PLS RECOMMEND ME CC and tips bc i suck
i’m currently in the years of the famine, second day to be precise. i’m going by the rules where you have to roll each year. i’ve decided i would also roll to see in which day i’ll have to kill them off as i don’t want everyone to die on the same day. anyway, my current heir who is a child rolled a 5 which results in death, he then also rolled to die on the fourth day of 1315. by then i had already came to terms with the fact that his younger brother would be the heir which yk i’ve got no problem with as he’s actually the cutest child i’ve seen and looks a lot like his mum who recently passed away during childbirth
anyway, as i was checking my spreadsheets to see who i’ll have to age up…i noticed that it is my heir’s birthday. theoretically, if he survives the birthday rolls, i could marry him and have him knock up a girl before his death in two days. i know 13 is very young but there is also more pressure when it comes to continuing the family line when humanity is in danger. i also married off his cousin at 13 last year. if there isn’t a famine i’d usually wait until at least 15 but you know… gotta secure those babies.
ANYWAY, if that child happens to be a boy would he be the heir or would his brother’s firstborn boy be the heir?
