The biggest trophy ever?

This picture reminded me of the guys talking about interesting looking trophies in the podcast recently (I hope it wasn’t football ramble who talked about this, it’s been that kinda week😆) This is the Teresa Herrera Trophy from the preseason tournament Depor host.. It took two players to lift it. Interestingly, Mourinho’s dad won this too as a player in 1968..

Dealing with Comps/ Quals failure

I am in an interdisciplinary social science PhD program. I failed my comps/quals last year. We had to sit in for four papers, I did excellently in 3 and failed the 4th in the tiebreaker. I failed the retake too because I was going through some personal issues. The department wants me to retake two papers with the new cohort later this year. But I have been so far removed from the courses, and they have completely changed the format of the exam. And the personal issues in my life have only gotten worse. I am almost certain I will fail again.. Been feeling very low the past year or so, like I have never felt this big a failure ever before.. Anybody deal with failing these exams before? How did you cope (I haven't been able to process it for about a year now), and navigate the path forward?

What was your most painful memory as a Madridista?

For me it's this game vs Bayern in 2012. The season was going brilliant. We had a fantastic team that year. We finally had an upper hand against pep's Barcelona. But everything was about the much coveted la Decima then. For a long time, it had seemed like we were never gonna win it. This year was the exception. And all the hope shattered. Ronaldo, and Kaka of all people missed their penalties. The 17 year old me thought we were never gonna win la Decima... Yes, we went on to do fantastic things in the competition over the years which feels like a deam.. But remembering this day still makes me wanna cry..

Favorite Chitra Singh song/ ghazal?

What is your favorite Chitra Singh ghazal? Bonus points if it's not very mainstream and not well known..

I'll start- beyond all her popular songs I absolutely love Yeh Haqeeqat hai. Also the album Passions is one of her most underrated works. (What a loss for us that she stopped singing 💔)

Favorite episodes that you remember?

With no football rn, I am listening to old episodes of the football cliches podcast. I only started to listen to the pidcast last year so lots of ‘new content’ for me. So far I have listened to all the quiz episodes, and the pure La Liga, Serie A, and Bungesliga XI episodes. Anything else you guys recommend? Thanks :)

Here are some of my favorites Real Madrid jerseys I won.. What’s your favorite that you own?

These are the favorite Real Madrid kits I own.. Each historic in their own right..

  1. The 1996/97 one is my favorite kits. Looks so pretty! And I loove Guti..We won the league that year..

  2. The Centenary kit with no sponsor. Another of my favorites. Zizou scored THAT volley in the final with this kit on..

  3. 2012/13 is so pretty. Modric scored THAT goal in Old Trafford in this kit. That game was his announcement to the world that he is a generational player.

  4. 2021/22 remontada CL season. Benzema scored that penalty in the Etihad with this one..

  5. We won the 8th CL with this kit. That Raul goal ❤️

Cat not as interested in food anymore

We have had our cat for 8 months now. She doesn't get as excited for food anymore. We feed her dry food and wet food every day. She always finishes the food but she takes breaks now. She'll eat some and leave for a while and get back to eating.. Before, she used to just finish everything the first time.. No change in bathroom habits or anything else. Is this normal?

20 years since probably the maddest WC final moment..

Can’t believe it’s been 20 years! Is this the craziest thing we saw in the WC final game ever? 12 year me couldn’t believe what I was seeing on TV…

The difference….

We see how France play in the WC and how deep their squad is. The major factor in making them strong? Early and almost free access to soccer from a very early age in Parisian suburbs..

Cat reluctant in eating wet food

We have given her the Costco brand Chunks in Gravy for the last 5 months since we had her.. It has the salmon and chicken flavor that we rotate and give that to her once a day.. Recently, she is getting more and more reluctant in eating it. She doesn’t finish it right away or waits an hour before she even gets to the food.. No issues with dry food.. Is she just getting bored? Or is that a health issue sign? Do you guys rotate between different brand or types of wet food? Thanks
